I would NOT recommend Athens Animal hospital ! I dropped my pup off yesterday morning for a checkup and nail clip, only for them to call me a few hours later and tell me that he is scared and they can not get their hands on him . YOU ARE THE PROFESSIONAL . When I booked the appointment whoever I spoke to told me the hours were 8-7 . When I arrived at 5:45 no one was there and they had my pups doggy door open letting cold air in . MY DOG IS A INSIDE DOG . IT WAS 33 degrees ! I finally got someone out there at 8pm to give me my dog (after calling the cops). The VET would not even get my dog out of the kennel . He made me go in , My baby was scared to death . I had to climb in the Kennel with him and hold him to get him to come out. When we got home I noticed they started to clip his nails and 2 of his paws were bleeding. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE . ALL Around . And the Vet was a complete prick about everything. NEVER AGAIN!

I honestly wouldnt give them a star if that was a option. We took our dog in because we thought she may be pregnant. She had started gaining weight. He took blood and sent it off and said everything came back normal. He told us she was pregnant and in labor because her temp was below what it normally would be and thats a sign of labor. He even said he felt two puppies but knew there were more in her. Two days passed and we went to a different vet to find out she had cancer and had a huge tumor which had burst and she was bleeding out before us. Our sweet dog was in such pain and we had to put her down. We are so upset that he diagnosed her with being pregnant when she was dying before us. She had to suffer longer because we had no idea. Very upsetting. But on that note, I guess anyone can misdiagnose... The staff is nice... Thats the only good thing I have to say.

My dog had a problem and I called one of the vets on this site. They couldnt fit me in and made me feel like they didnt need my service. So I called this vet and they fit me in right away and even let me drop my dog off while I went back to work. They were so nice and so helpful! Theres not alot of small talk. They didnt try to sell me stuff either. Im definitely going back there for my pups yearly exam. :)

Dr. Cown is the best vet Ive ever taken an animal to. He doesnt try to sell you on all kinds of fancy products or procedures, he just tells you the best and most inexpensive way to take care of your pets. Ive always felt like he really cared about the welfare of my dogs and cat and he has literally been a lifesaver.

He is caring and compassionate, no small talk, at the time of your appointment is when he sees you and your pet, he doesnt try to sell you stuff, gives you the best service for a very good price, he works with you giving you the best treatment for your pet at the best price, love him and his office staff!

Dr Cown has been our vet for 12 years. He has always been amazing with our pup. He has also been more than fair when we have had to go back multiple times for something even with our dogs bad hips. We love him so much!
