If you love your dog, Do not ever take your beloved animal to this place. I was sent here by my Vet because we thought my dog Winchester had a type of seizure. On my first visit the Vet we saw was kind and caring. He examined my dog and made some recommendations. We werent sure what was going on but an MRI or steroids were suggested. We followed up with our regular vet. As things progressed my dog was having problems walking and x-rays seems to show that there was a problem with his cruciate ligament. My dog was getting worst. We traveled to Toronto because we heard of a women who specializes in making braces to help dogs walk. We found out after seeing this therapist that this wasnt going to help my dog. he was getting weaker and much worst. We went back to the Animal Neurology and MRI Center after seeing the therapist in Toronto. This time we saw Dr. Wolf who is the owner. He had a very poor bedside manor, as he was evaluating my dog walking, apparently my dog wasnt walking fast enough for Dr. Wolf, and Dr. Wolf literally pushed my dog so hard he fell to the floor on his side. This was a dog who could barely even stand let alone walk. I was horrified. I swear I wanted to rip this mans eyes out, but being in shock I contained myself. We found out later that evening from our regular Vet, that Winchester had hemangiosarcoma, He died one week later. We did take Winchester to Michigan State University to see if there was anything at all that could be done. I was to distraught to do anything at the time, but a few weeks later I contacted the Animal Neurology & MRI Center to complain. At that time I did not know that Dr. Wolf was the owner. When I complained I spoke to a very rude woman who accused me of making this story up and that Dr. Wolf was a compassionate and animal loving man. When what can I expect when the man I am complaining about is the owner. I dont want anyone else to experience such cold and unprofessional behavior from a so called compassionate man. I told my regular Vet about what had happened and he told me that he has heard other stories about this man and his cold nature. Do yourself a favor and Go to Oakland Veterinary Referral Services, or Michigan State University, where they care about the life of your beloved animal.

If I could give less than 1 star I would .. Very Un caring place , snotty employees and was no help to our sick dog . We felt they would not listen to our concerns about our dog and that something was strange because our other dogs had it too all at the same time . They did not seem to want to find what was wrong and sent us home with pain pills when we refused the test that was most certainly NOT going to help being that it was ALL our dogs that were experiencing the same sudden illness .. We felt we were rushed out of there then when we wouldnt do their test. The kicker was as paying she asked soooo what other plans do you have today ? Wtf? my dog was dying what do you think my plans were??? Then they called us today, not to check on her , just to say whoops we sent the records to the wrong place... Never even asked how she was . I contacted our real vet office today and told her what was happening to our dogs and the RECEPTIONIST there figured it out what toxin was attacking our dogs after our 2 minute conversation on the phone . At this poor excuse for a vet they told us no toxins would cause our dogs to have paralysis and pain and most certainly could not be something they ingested ... Also told US to call poison control ourselfs .. What the heck did we just pay you 200 bucks for ??? To call ourselves ??? Thank God our dogs have started to recover ON THEIR OWN..... This vet got 200 bucks for NOTHING... Must be how they keep the place open is deceit because it certainly is not their love or knowledge of animals .

I took my dog to the ER here on a Saturday evening for what I thought was leg pain. The ER vet, Dr. Schoonover spent a great deal of time with my dog and determined that he is actually suffering from neck pain. He started my dog on some pain medications and prescribed "strict crate rest," which seemed to make a big difference for him. I went back in for a re-check with the neurologist, Dr. Moore and I was extremely pleased with this visit as well. Dr. Moore spent another great deal of time examining my dog and observing his movements. Dr. Moore indicated that medication and rest are doing my dog well. I never felt at all pushed into diagnostic testing by either veterinarian here. I genuinely appreciate their recommendations to start with conservative therapy before any expensive or invasive therapies were suggested. Lastly, after I took my dog to the ER on Saturday, I heard back from Dr. Schoonover on Saturday evening and again on Sunday to check-in on us.

I was referred to Animal Neurology to evaluate my dog, who was having difficulty with stairs and weakness in his limbs. Dr. Wolf gave him a thorough evaluation and recommended an MRI to determine if the cervical area of the spine was involved. The staff put down a soft bed and comforter in the treatment room and let my timid dog rest comfortably with me for two hours while we waited for the MRI to be freed up. The tech checked on us regularly and even brought me bottled water! While I have been to other good veterinary specialists in the Detroit area in the past for my dogs, the staff here went above and beyond. Dr. Wolf updated me regularly as the MRI was progressing. While we did not receive good news, I feel it was money well spent and I very much appreciate their bedside manner.

Rupert, my 7 month old daschund, became extremely ill and after going to his normal vet, then Oakland Veterinary Referral Services, we ended up here. Dr. Moesser was the doctor that Rupert saw and he was absolutely amazing. Never pushed for the most expensive thing and wanted to rule out the cheaper testable things before jumping into the MRI and Spinal Tap. The staff was so friendly and accommodating for us coming all the way from Windsor. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Dr. Moesser and the staff for taking care of my fur baby! Id highly highly recommend to anyone to bring their dog here. Even though I hope to never see you guys again, I am extremely thankful.

After our elderly dog had her second torn knee ligament, Dr. Hutmaker, the rehab veterinarian, and her staff fitted our dog for an orthotic brace. They subsequently provided rehab services for her. We knew her time was limited, and wanted to make her last months as comfortable as possible. Dr. Hutmaker and her staff were awesome. The medical care was superb, and they treated our dog with kindness and affection. Our extremely anxious dog, who didnt normally like unfamiliar places and never liked going to the vet, always enjoyed the rehab appointments. And, the fees for the services were reasonable.
