We wasted 2-3 Hours for nothing, All we needed is list of Dr. If they have it. Instead of Drs list they waste our 2-3 hours.…………………This was my daughters(16&Smart) experience in her words……. I went to the front desk at the registration and asked for a list of orthopedists who can accept my insurance. I had stated the situation which was that I sprained my ankle one month before. I went to the place that they referred me to which was Athens Orthopedic Center today but they didnt accept my insurance so I stopped by to get a list of orthopedists. They said they could take care of me here and see me here. I know I was clear because I speak proper English and I am a medical student so I do know what I am talking about. When they said they could see me and take care of me, it means they can see what is wrong and fix it. I waited 1 hour and got called in. I finally got called in and I had to wait 15 minutes over there! A person came to register me and after that I had to wait another 15 minutes. The nurse practitioner came in and said couldnt do anything about my ankle and she would give me a list of orthopedists who accept my insurance. This was exactly what I asked for in the first place!! We asked to see the patient affairs coordinator. We waited for another 15 minutes. A nurse came in and said she heard the situation and said that I could talk to her about what was going on and then the patient affairs coordinator came in. As soon as she came in, the nurse fled. We complained to the patient affairs coordinator and she said that she would check to see what was going on. She went and talked to the person who did registration. We waited another 20 minutes before she came back. She said that it was a misunderstanding. I had to explain to her the situation again and the fact that I was clear with what I wanted. She went back to talk to them and we waited again for 15 minutes. She came back and said it was a misunderstanding and apologized. we had to wait another hour for discharge. It seemed as if we were getting punished for expressing our concerns! When the person finally came to discharge me, it was the person who had registered me. He said he was sorry and that it was a misunderstanding and he thought I wanted to be checked in. I had to tell him once again that I had asked for a list of orthopedists who accepted my insurance and that was all. So it was a very bad experience which wasted my 2-3 hours. This caused me my college class homework and I have to worry about a test tomorrow. We will choose St. Martys if we have medical problem.

Sorry if this is lengthy but I feel the need to voice my experience. Woke up Saturday with some pretty bad abdomen and lower back pain. Came to athens regional. The wait was expected. Once I got back into a room, my blood was taken. Right after the site where it was taken was huge and throbbing. Told another nurse and apparently the lady who took my blood "didnt put enough pressure." Well now Im stuck with a very sore blue bruised arm. They couldnt even use that arm again for fluids due to the pain. My other arm has never been good for any ivs or blood, just due to it being unnoticeable. Next was an iv in the left arm. Right as shes doing it she says sorry shes hit a valve so it will bruise. Well now this arm is in pain and starts stinging. It eventually swelled up and started "refusing fluid." Then I was given a shot in my leg for pain, which by far was the most painful shot Ive ever had. It didnt work in the slightest. Got a CT scan and was told I had ovarian cyst. Nothing in detail. Was sent home in more pain then when I came and was told to take Tylenol. What a joke. Pain persisted on into today so I went back. Was told that actually they found In the CT scan that I received YESTERDAY that I had ruptured cyst and there was fluid and hemorrhaging. Mind you I dont have insurance and told the doctor to please be mindful of this(he wasnt clearly if I had to come back for another expensive visit to hear about the test I received while I was their yesterday.) I waited 4 hours In the waiting room-then was seen and sent home within 10 minutes and was given nausea and pain meds. No antibiotics. So I have something ruptured-definitely a red flag for infection, but NO antibiotics. Called back and asked if I needed them and they said no and basically acted like I was stupid for asking. I cant get into a gyno for further testing until Friday and now Im scared of infection(even more pain than Im already in) Long story short Im very unimpressed as I almost feel as though they were trying to get me out as soon as possible because Im without insurance. Knowing my situation why not the first day wouldnt they tell me the severity of things and given me something for pain. Now Im stuck with TWO hospital bills and still in pain scared of infection. So hopefully I can get a doctor tomorrow to get some antibiotics or I will be making yet another expensive trip to the hospital but this time to St. Marys! Note: majority of the nurses were very kind and caring and my doctor was very kind just not on top of things enough for me.

First off I want to say my experience here is typical rasism from start to finish M.D PRICE IS A incompetent Doctor... Who do not take the time to diagnose a patient or have time for just one patient unless theres someone over him watching... I visited in the early hours...it was not many Patiences there..it was slow the nurses are high looking outta space maybe mushrooms.. I was one of the third people to get called back he neglected to diagnose me or treat me.... I was originally seen at Athens first care...there told I had strep throat and a fever that day before..First Care did not fax over my prescription to the pharmacy...So thats when I decided to the next morning to visit Athens Regional for prescription for strep throat boy I was wrong... It was closer and more convenient for me driving distance I was in pain I had my little one with me also... Instead of going back to Athens first care for strep throat...I wasnt and didnt ask for no pain medicine he treated be like a druggie begging for prescription from start to finish... They called the other M.D asking was I lying about having strep throat right in front of my face!!! I had all my paperwork from them stating what was wrong shows him an the nurse they glanced... Also as he told me my diagnosis which was nothing he laughed and smiled in my face as he was explaining my diagnosis witch I was confued being diagnosed by the other hospital less than 24 hours ago.!!.Doctor PRICE didnt care are I was in pain I waited 3 hours for a FLU AND STREP TEST!!!! horrible horrible staff nurses the nurse told me it only takes 30 minutes at the most.. I was left looking at there walls for hours!!! Plus the bathroom room smells like urine... The floors still had bloodspots on them for something weeks ago maybe longer... Doctor Price did not care for me as a person as a mother or a woman...He is a inexperience doctor no matter how much school or degrees he got under his resume belt whatever you want to call it.... Dr PRICE priority wasnt his Patiences.... Dr PRICE like to gossip in the halls about other employees an staff!! Dr PRICE wasnt emotionally, physically or mentally any help...I believe he should be held accountable for medical neglect an Medicaid/Medicare fraud!!! the medical bored actually need to investigate Piedmont Athens Regional..!!!. ASAP... !!(Saint Marys is the best thats all I got to say Saint Marys is the best of Athens Georgia they have my vote an my children, family, friends votes too 100% best staff) NOT DOCTOR PRICE!!
