Visiting Nurse and their staff simply rock the medical profession. IN 2009 my heart, kidneys and lungs decided to go on vacation, and on top of that, I had a huge infected area they ultimately cut out. I was in the hospital for four months. When they finally sent me home, I had another home health care company who shall remain nameless, not to protect the innocent but because they have more lawyers than I do on retainer. To put it bluntly, they inhaled briskly. During their tenure I gave up any hope of ever seeing anything but the four walls of my room again. Then, towards the end of 2012, I found myself back in the hospital, with new insurance, and they sent me home with a new home health care company: Visiting Nurse. The difference was incredible. Sandy, my nurse, was a master of her craft with deep and wide knowledge of nursing; she resolved issues that had been lingering since the 2009 timeframe. This was totally unlike the other guys, she connected with me and she cared about me, as an individual, not some number on a chart. My Physical and Occupational Therapy teams were a game changer for me. In the first day meeting, I said I had been in this one room since 2009 and I never expected to see anything other than these four walls again. The PT team of Will and Nancy took that in stride, and told me they were getting me out of this room, and a few weeks later I rolled out in my new power wheelchair. This was incredible, being able to go to several rooms at will. The changed my life, and told me they thought I could stand and perhaps walk again. And that’s where we are today, working on standing. Visiting Nurse staffers are professional, empathetic, knowledgeable and expert at their jobs. They are welcome guests in my home, and excel in providing medical services in a challenging environment. They bring vision to see how things can be made better and then help their patients realize that vision; in my case getting out of my prison cell where I had spent the past four years. But most important thing is that they bring hope; they brought me hope of walking again, and I think it is now within my reach. I would recommend Visiting Nurse without the slightest reservation to anyone. Again, they rock!

Visiting Nurse Health System leaves a lot to be desired. I am a patient of theirs. The service coordination is the worst. Their internal problems spill over to the patient care. I was supposed to be seen today by a nurse. He or she was supposed to come over and perform wound care. Because someone called in sick, I wasnt seen today. I was on the phone when they called to schedule the visit (11am) and when I called back (12pm), I was told they were short handed and they "moved on to the next patient" No one was available to see me today. Now Im being told that maybe they can see me tomorrow but more than likely Ill have to wait to my next scheduled visit. I didnt think not seeing patients that theyre getting paid to see was legal..

Absolutely wonderful!!!! They helped me immensely with the care of my elderly mother. Its been such a relief to be able to have someone to depend on. The care is professional, with the goal to help me keep my mother at home. Words can not convey how grateful I am to everyone I dealt with in this institution, especially Ms. Osan, our last case worker. God bless you all!!!

Visiting nurses is terrible. If you want good care for your loved one, find another provider. Visiting shouldnt even be part of their name. Only 2 nursed on call after hours in the Atlanta area, which is 5 pm to 8 am.
