After my mothers cat had vomited about a 6in diameter puddle of blood, my mom took her, and the paper towel, to see Dr. Amiri on a Friday morning, right after finding the blood clot filled vomit. Dr. Amiri ran a blood panel,I am guessing, when she arrived and saw that she was only at 25 PCV, low for cats, and low protein. They took x rays and barium series and found nothing. There she sat from 9am-6pm, no fluids, no medication and then went home. Why didnt they run another PCV to see where her levels were prior to sending her home? They did suspect internal bleeding at this time and it came on quickly. My mom had to ask for further instructions in case she still wasnt eating and if she worsened. More could have, and should have, been done to have increased her chances of surviving this sudden onset of illness. Instead, she sat in an ER for two days, Sat and Sun, for them to make her as comfortable as possible, with fluids and medication to try and rally her. Her PCV levels were decreasing at every 6 hour test. But it was too late. Why?! Why didnt you do more when it was obvious you should have? She was euthanized at the ER Sunday, surrounded by loved ones as she took her last breath. She was immensely loved and now her brother is alone, her furry parents are devastated, and they have no answers. She was only 5 years old. I have a review/experience as well: I have a deaf, three legged cat and I brought her in for mowing of her belly. After the exam, Dr. Amiri had the nerve to say directly to me that I was "killing my cat" because she was over weight. I was a vet tech for years, I take care of specials needs animals, I have 2 (at the time 3) special needs animals and I work multiple jobs to give them to best I possibly can. Their needs ALWAYS comes before mine. First of all, my cat is within all standards of normal weight, WITH a missing leg. Second, dont take your frustrations out on clients. It is extremely unprofessional. Third, and last but not least, dont have your father call me to apologize for you and explain that you were moving and a bit stressed. Unacceptable, unprofessional, and uncalled for. Period. Having your father call for you? I dont care if he is part owner of the clinic, the issue I had was with you. I had to explain the situation to your HR and your father when you could have just called me directly and we would not have had to play the telephone game. Needless to say, due to your unprofessional bedside manner, questionable quality of care and above all, you have shown that you lack of, in my opinion, veterinary experience when it comes to "critical care" cases. You lost my patronage last year and now my family and friends (most are within the animal rescue community) will find another vet as well.

Words cant even begin to say how grateful we are to have Dr. Amiri and her staff as our pets healthcare team! Our family of four (furry and one hairless;-), also, foster pets and some of our pet sitting clients are long time patients at Steeplechase. We have personally been going there since 2008. We really appreciate our vet not sugar coating facts we have needed to know in order for our furkids to have a healthier, happier life - they are very honest, caring, and have the best dog and cat-bedside manner weve ever encountered. There is no question about the quality of care we receive whether critical emergency, dentals, surgeries, sick visits, or routine exams. We know they truly care and sometimes have cats or dogs that they let live there until they find the right forever home for them. Another important thing worth mentioning is the cleanliness of their hospital, it even smells nice when you walk in! We highly recommend Steeplechase Veterinary Hospital for pets and their family;-)

Came to Steeplechase as a second opinion. This was the 3rd visit for my dog for the same issue (first time at Steeplchase). I walked in, my dogs and I were greeted warmly, one of them jumped on the counter to give one of the girls a kiss... a good sign I thought. The vet tech sat with us and got the whole story, took her time writing notes, etc. Then Dr. Amiri came in, sat down took her time, listened to the issues, even took the time to look up the ingredients of one of the supplements my dog takes. She prescribed what she thought would be the best course of action for the next 3 weeks and said, if it doesnt get better, you come back and we keep trying different things. This was so different than looking at my dog cursory and sending me on my way with no check back that I had become used to. We will now be patients of Dr. Amiri from now on. AND they managed to cut/dremmel my dogs nails, no one has been able to do that for a few years!!

Highly recommend Steeplechase Vet Hospital if you are looking for the most caring, compassionate, and over all real animal-lovers to care for your dog. Probably same with cats, I just dont have one. My dog used to be scared to go to the vet even for nail trims we would have to drag him out of the car and in the door, but since he has been going to Steeplechase he is a happy dog, gets excited when we drive into the parking lot and goes right in. Not sure if this is because he gets kisses from the doc and staff or if they are like the dog whisperer? Also, Lucky has never been healthier. Hes looking and feeling great even at his age. I have gotten lots of "need to know" education from his vet that none of the other vets weve been to have taken the time or care to keep us informed. Thank you Steeplechase for taking such great care of my best friend!

Best Vet Clinic Ever! I cannot say enough good things about this clinic and Dr. Amiri. We have three pets (one dog and two cats). Dr. Amiri has been there with us every step of the way for routine visits, nail clippings and even when our cat Max swallowed 8 hair bands and needed surgery to remove them!! Not to mention that Dr. Amiri is the reason we even have one of our cats. Why? Because she is a caring person who takes in strays and helps them get adopted out to loving families. She has a wonderful reputation in this community and with law enforcement (our cat jumped into a Roswell police car and was promptly delivered to Dr. Amiri!) and it is well deserved. The staff is also wonderful - they all know our names and could not be kinder or more knowledgable. Weve lived in three states (TX, CA and GA) and Steeplechase is the best vet clinic of all!

We have four Havanese and have fostered many other Havs and small dogs over the past 8 years. Dr. Amiri has cared for all of them, routine and sick, and has been wonderful! She and her staff are patient with my many, many questions, have supported us with diet changes and titer testing vs. yearly vaccinations, and been open to discussion when it comes to their care. We had one very sick foster dog and they allowed me and my husband to come in and just sit on the floor in the clinic at her crate to comfort her while they stepped over and around us, not for one minute did they make us feel as if we were in their way even though we were. Weve always been treated with kindness and compassion and have referred many friends who now feel the same way. I wouldnt take my pets anywhere else!
