My feelings are so hurt today. Its very confusing to me because I have been using Tri-County Animal Hospital since the 80s to this date for my small and large animals. I have loved my Dr. Aunt Becky for many years. She has always been a blessing for me so I was very surprised today when I had an emergency with my little dog Ziggy. He had an issue with his back. He was in a lot of pain and needed immediate attention. Ziggys primary care doctor is Dr. Jeff Cribb Of Veterinary Care Center, Canton GA. I still use Tri-County for my secondary veterinary care as needed. VCC has been my primary care veterinary service since 2005 (Dr. Cribb is also an excellent doctor and located very close to me, about a 10 minute drive whereas Tri-County is now about a 35 ton 45 minute drive and they have different operating hours which has worked out nicely to provide for the best care of my pets). So, the key words here are BEST + CARE for my dog. Dr. Teal and Dr. Cribb both have treated Ziggy for his back issues. Both doctors recommend have recommended the same treatment but they both use different medications. Ziggy is a pekingese and its very difficult to give him any pill form medications such as Dr. Cribb uses, so the BEST thing for Ziggy was to use a liquid form of medication. Now, Dr. Teal has the liquid medication that Ziggy needed, and Dr. Teal has also given that same liquid medication to Ziggy in the near past. So in the BEST interest of Ziggy Dr. Cribb said he would call Tri-Care and inquire about getting the liquid medication needed for Ziggy. Long story short...Tri-County refused my request for the liquid medication, even after being examined, on that same morning, by Dr. Cribb. Tri-County, wanted to charge me an additional "examination fee," (not an actual examination, but an extra FEE, a/k/a extra $$$) on top of the purchase price for the medication. WHOA!!! Im pumping the brakes about now. Is it my understanding that Tri-County is more concerned about their money than whats BEST for my Ziggys care and well being? Okay, so in all fairness to Dr. Teal, I find it difficult to believe she actually made that decision herself. I dont know who made that decision at Tri-County but it has definitely raised some very serious questions for me about Tri-County Animal Hospitals priorities. I love you Dr. Aunt Becky. I will miss you. PS Did I say Dr. Cribb went the extra mile and got the medication Ziggy needed same day? He did. I thank you Dr. Cribb and Ziggy thanks you too.

Dr. Teal is excellent. Knowledgeable, experienced, resourceful, compassionate and delivers well thought out and reasonable advice. We have taken our dogs here for the last few years and they have helped us work through some difficult ailments. They are committed to the health of their patients and have proven their dedication on several occasions with us by working odd hours to support us. We even got a follow up call from Dr. Teal Christmas evening to check on our dog that had swallowed unknown quantities of kids fruit snack bags the day before. Definitely recommended.

So much for "emergency service"... I called Tri-County Animal Hospital twice when my dog was choking. For "emergency service" you are advised to leave your phone number to be called back. No response, so I again called and left another message requesting a call back. STILL no response. Luckily, after consuming enough grass to force himself to throw up 3 times, my dog seemed to clear what was lodged in his throat. Would I recommend Tri-County Animal Hospital? Depends on if you value your pet as a member of your own family as we do. Dont expect a response after hours.

I cannot say enough good things about the people here. They are attentive, kind, dedicated, empathetic, and stubborn. They genuinely want their patients to be better, and will work as hard as they can to achieve that. When we recently lost our German Shepherd after a prolonged mystery illness (that Dr. Huggins tried valiantly to find its cause and cure), the whole staff - from front office to back door - shared our grief and tears. We have two other dogs (and will have more!) who will always be cared for by TriCounty

They took great care of our cat. They explained all of our options and likely scenarios when he was sick and took time to help us understand everything. They made him comfortable for the familys goodbye and didnt charge us for euthanizing. Maybe because we were long-time customers or because wed spent money on his diagnosis and care...either way it was a pleasant surprise and generous touch in a difficult time. They are very salt of the earth doctors. Knowledgeable, hands on, and approachable.

My goat kid had jumped the fence and got her leg caught and hurt. I called after hours for Emergency help and received a call within minutes. Dr. Teal got there fast and was able to help her hurt leg. She did great with my little goat kid and she is feeling much better now thanks to the help of Dr. Teal. Dr. Teal also helped to calm me down (who was very nervous about my goat kids condition) which I think says a lot for someone who is great with both animals and people.
