The service by the nurses and office staff was great - they were all very welcoming and polite! However, I was seen by Dr. Fred Gose and left feeling very dissatisfied. I visited the hospital for a mildly concerning bite on my foot - I didnt think it was anything too serious, but Id been camping in a forested area and Id never seen my skin react the way it did so I just wanted to get the bite looked at. When Dr. Gose walked in to the area where my bed was, it was a full 30-45 seconds before he even made eye contact with me. He walked in, asked me what I was concerned about, and glanced at my foot. When he finally looked up and talked to me (and not to my foot), he told me that he had seen plenty of bites with skin symptoms like the ones I had. Feeling reassured that my symptoms werent out of the ordinary, I asked him if he knew what kind of insect/bug bite typically left those symptoms. His blunt response: "Well I wasnt there when you got bit, so how would I know what bit you?" After this unnecessarily smart comment, I realized that he wouldnt be providing any more beneficial help. My bug bite wasnt anything serious; I just came in for peace of mind, but I left feeling irritated. While I definitely appreciate all the work that doctors do, I believe bedside manner is a critical skill that should not be overlooked. Im sure there are plenty of other fantastic doctors at Putnam General; I just didnt experience that during my visit with Dr. Gose.

Well we came here 2 hours ago my dad cut his hand open and it want stop bleeding and there taking there sweet time hes a free bleeder so there need to stop messing around and get on there game everyone been outside talking instead of doing there job bad hospital if need help dont come here !!!!!

What a great hospital we have. Our community is so fortunate to have such a caring and responsive facility. It means so much to me. They were so kind and feeling when my wife and father were there before their deaths. Thank you PGH.
