Step-son was admitted after needing to be restrained by the police after attacking his mother and the dog and tearing apart his little brothers room. He was transferred to Kingswood. We had a family meeting with kingswoods social worker and a CPS caseworker because our son was making wild accusations. The social worker was unbelievable. She didnt bother to talk to his therapist, didnt bother to even ask about his history. She sat there contradicting us as parents, telling us we should let him play video games and not listening to us about how video games completely changed his behavior which is why we took them away in the first place. She seemed more concerned with our son getting what he wanted than the reason why things are the way they are. Even when he told me, "f*** you" right in front of everyone during the meeting the social worker had nothing to say. The CPS worker got so sick of the social workers behavior that she stood up for us and questioned why the social worker refuse to listen. Our stepson is 12 years old, has a long list of mental health and development issues, had to be taken to the hospital by the police and kingswoods social worker thanks that he should be making the decisions and was not going to hear otherwise. Terrible, not helpful at all in our sons time of need and actively made things worse for when he came home. Seek treatment elsewhere as this place obviously perpetuates the revolving door care that has failed so many in our sons position.

Dec. 2016 my sister was a patient and a few of her items went missing which supposedly were under locked and keyed. My sister was released with no boots only slippers on and a missing poncho which both items were just purchased for her on her birthday in October. Of all days, this was one of the coldest days in December. She was very upset. The staff claimed a family member signed these items out days before her release date and couldnt generate any paper trail. The funny thing was that I was the only family member who visit her that particular day. So when I mentioned that the story changed to that they couldnt even find the file on my sister. I spoke to two separate people and filled out an incident report and as of February 7, 2017, still have not receive any phone calls back, letter in the mail, or reimbursement for my sisters items. Ms. Michele Burdy was one staff member I spoke with and was very rude. The second staff member was Ms. Macie Gater. She was nicer but didnt follow up to her promise that she would make sure she will call me back or make sure someone contact me. The staff is uncaring, unprofessional, and thieves. Please anyone who is reading this do not talk your love to this hospital for care. If so, make sure anything of value is left with you or home.

Worst hospital EVER for psychiatric care. My daughters mom was sent there because she has been experiencing hallucinations, delusions, depression and starting cutting herself. She wedges toilet paper in her ears to "drown out the voices" and uses a vacuum to "suck the voices out of her head". ONLY 3 DAYS AFTER BEING ADMITTED, they released her without any explanation to my daughters even though medical release forms had been signed. My girls mom walked out of the hospital with one of her telltale signs of this mental illness: she had toilet paper wedged in and sticking out of her ears to drown out the voices. The doctors and hospital RELEASED HER IN THIS CONDITION and still refuse to discuss why with my daughters EVEN THOUGH A MEDICAL RELEASE FORM WAS SIGNED. They did nothing to help her but Im sure they will take every penny the insurance company pays them. I have one word to describe this place: PATHETIC!!!!! They deserve 0 stars but I was forced to give them one so I could post this.

One of the best psych hospitals in michigan. I was sent here for my first hospitalization at age 16 or 17 . Since then I have been back about 4 more times. They are nurturing & make your stay as comfortable as it can be for a hospital. They keep you busy with constructive groups on dbt, with trained staff. They teach you life changing stuff in the short time youre there. Psychiatrist on staff are the best, they show genuine concern . I wish the er would send me there but with my insurance Im last priority. When I had hap I could go there. Now I have straight medicaid. I wouldnt trust going anywhere else for care or for a loved one

I wish I could give ZERO stars. Their sensory room is a room with 2 mats and a bean bag chair THATS IT. Several employees got my daughters medical information mixed up with someone elses. My daughter arrived at 4:30pm on a Friday, by Monday they said we werent covered any longer. Further digging, I found they told our insurance company she was better and didnt need to be there anymore! I feel like anyone giving this place 4 stars was paid to do so, or is an employee.

We were completely stonewalled by Henry Ford Kingswood Hospital. After requesting a psychiatric evaluation for a family members serious psychiatric condition, the hospitals response was "We are not accepting new patients at this time". No offer was made to help in any way or refer to another provider. Uncaring and Unprofessional. Whats the point of an elaborate website and advertising campaign if you cant actually help patients in need?

This place is amazing. The staff truly care about you and want you to get better. Everyone there treats you amazingly. I had the best week in a long time then I did at home. I finally felt like I belonged in a group of people, the other kids were amazing. I was hopeless before and now im starting to think things are getting better. Amazing. I know things arent going to happen all in one night but man, did this hospital help.

Im glad I went to Kingswood as opposed to Havenwyck. The staff in Mod D was very kind and supportive of me being transgender (even though I was put in the womens half of the module) - every time they talked to me/referred to me when it wasnt about legal stuff like medications, they called me Mikey and used masculine pronouns. Its a place Id be adamant about going back to because of the friendly staff.

My daughter needs help Ive checked the reviews on the other places and couldnt believe what was going on. After reading these reviews Im hoping to get my daughter in here for her treatment. This place looks and sounds like my daughter will get the best care.

Good results, but the communication between hospital staff and concerned family needs an upgrade.
