It would have been quicker to go to the Hospital ER. When you are very ill, the last thing you want to do is sit in an Urgent Care for hours. As if the wait wasnt terrible enough, I have never had such a negative experience with a so-called health care professional. When I finally saw the doctor, I explained to him my cough was so bad I thought I was going to vomit and that my cough had pretty much kept me up all night for two nights in a row. It was by far the worst cough Ive ever experienced and Delsym wasnt cutting it. I also told him about the many other OTC products I was trying because money was tight and I didnt want to go to the doctor. Unfortunately, it was obvious I needed to see a doctor. I do not go to the doctor unless its completely necessary. My boyfriend made a comment to the doctor that I always get sick around this time of year (winter) and immediately the doctor surmised I was simply suffering from allergies. I told him it was absolutely not allergies- that I have never had allergies and a cough this severe could in no way be from allergies. My cough was so loud, constant, and severe Im pretty sure the entire office could hear it. I tried to explain my symptoms but could hardly do that because the doctor kept interrupting me and asking questions that were irrelevant. He spent maybe 10 minutes with me (after hours of waiting) and then got out the prescription pad. He asked me what my family doctor usually gave me for a cough. I told him it was some type of hydrocodone-based syrup (I wasnt sure exactly what it was called). I dont know why he bothered to ask because he wrote me something called "Bromfed DM". I asked him if he could give me what I usually got from my family doctor instead because I know it usually worked and I could not go another night without sleep... the cough was killing me. He said "just try this". I was so exhausted I just left with the prescriptions- Bromfed DM, a steroid, and a suggestion to take Claritin. I got to the 24-hour pharmacy and waited for them to fill the prescriptions (It was around midnight at this point). Apparently Bromfed DM does not come in a generic form and even with my insurance, it was $75. I specifically told the doctor how tight money was... but he didnt listen to anything I said about my symptoms so why would he have paid attention to that? I was outraged but I was so tired and upset I put it on my credit card and went home. I was too tired and sick to think (BIG MISTAKE) because the prescription cough syrup he gave me was pretty much just Delsym and Pseudoephedrine and I could have saved myself $75 and just took some Delsym and Sudafed that I already had at home. After ANOTHER miserable night of coughing so hard I couldnt sleep (and my boyfriend couldnt sleep either because of the constant noise)... I went to another Urgent Care. They actually listened to me and were horrified about my previous Urgent Care experience. They tested me for Whooping Cough and sent me home with some hydrocodone-based cough syrup. They called me back a week later when the lab tests were in... I had Pertussis a.k.a Whooping Cough. Last time I checked... Whooping Cough is nothing like seasonal allergies. I never write reviews but I felt the need to warn people to NOT WASTE THEIR TIME OR MONEY and go to a decent Urgent Care. I only tried this one because its the only one open until Midnight and it was late. Next time Ill tough it out until the next day or visit the ER. I suggest you do too.

I took the spouse to Concentra- Hapeville for a basic cough and cold. No brain surgery here, just some simple meds to suppress the cough. All the spouse wanted to do was get some sleep without awaking every five minutes to cough. The first impression was positive. We arrived when they opened at 10 a.m. and were fifth in line. Not bad for a Sunday. The waiting room was great. Two wide screen TVs on ESPN, complementary Keurig coffee, granola bars and apple juice. The receptionist was pleasant. She quickly and efficiently took our co-pay before rendering any services. They had Time Magazine on the rack. And speaking of time.... Boy, did we spend a lot of it waiting...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Three and one-half hours of our lives which we will never recover. The estimated time was one and one-half hours. We were okay waiting up to two hours. After all, that is not unusual for a Doc-in-the box. But three and one-half hours to service five people is inexcusable. The Doc only spent about ten minutes with the spouse. What were they doing that took 3 & 1/2 freaking hours! Heres a tip if you run a business-- do your easy jobs first. Get them out the door and do the more difficult jobs later. If you use this model, you will get more customers. If you make people wait 3 & 1/2 for cough medicine, you will lose business. I noticed that the waiting room had no more than ten people at any one time. That included the people who arrived with the patients. Anyway, I am not here to bury this business (or to praise it). But to tell it to get its act together. The reviews on this sight are awful. Any business with an ounce of pride would at least take measures to improve performance and come onto this site to update what is being done. What say you, Concentra-Hapeville?

Made appointment several days in advance for immunization. Showed up 20 min early for appointment, they said no appointment in system and cant see Doctor without appointment unless I was in need of urgent care. Talked to another front desk person and they said they would get me in to see Dr. since it was only an immunization shot. Filled out forms for 30 minutes then waited another hour, after talking to person at front desk finally got to go back to a patient room. Back office area was huge but vacant, no staff to be seen, waited 30 minutes in room, walked to front office to see what was happening they said I will be seen soon, waited 25 minutes, Dr. stopped by and said cant do immunization until proper paper work is completed by me. Gave me another batch of forms for immunization and said will check back in a while. Why was I not given this paperwork earlier? Waited another 25 minutes, then gave up and walked out. This place is horrible, even by normal Dr. office standards. I would understand if some urgent care patients with pressing urgent medical needs had shown up, but nothing of the sort, the waiting room appeared to be just people showing up without appointments for clearly non-urgent medical needs. I would never go here again. - Received follow up call from manager after posting this review. I must admit I was impressed by the prompt call, their invitation to get the immunization today, and their verbal commitment to try to improve in the future. Raised rating from 1 start to 2 based on their follow up call.
