I came into this ER on Monday night 9/12/16 and was discharged on tuesday morning. The night staff is terrible very unorganized and unprofessional!!!! I waited in the ER for 4 hours with an iv in my arm. The doctor was very arrogant and very rude. She also ordered a bunch of tests she and i both knew i didnt need. I went for stomach ache and she ordered a CT and a chest xray!! And more bloodwork on top of the 8 tubes from triage!! End result she says you have gallstones you need to schedule surgery in outpatient then walks out!!! The charged nurse looked a bit shocked but she wasnt any better.. Rather tired and dismissive. This doctor has seriously poor bedside manners and she only saw me as a paycheck. Why else all the totally unneccesary diagnostic testings?? She clearly wasnt concerned for me. During the visit she asked me about my warfarin therapy and i stated that i havent been on warfarin in a couple of months because i just recently started my new health insurance through my employer and ive yet to pick out a pcp. She remarked " well you better get that situation straightened because we are not going to write you a prescription for it out of the ER!" EXCUSE ME???!!! I didnt ask for her to do so!! And i dont appreciate her addressing me as if i were some type of warfarin junkie!!! Then she proceeds to say are you sure you havent been on any blood thinners?? She asks me 3 times then she says your INR is 1.4. Thats normal...??? Um NO!! Not for me!! Ive been on warfarin therapy nearly half my life, and i know my medical history. i know it should be maintained at a level of 2 or 3. I used to work in the medical field for a local hospital, as a surgical assistant... So im not oblivious, i am not without knowledge, however this particular doctor seemed to have thought differently. Some of these doctors have such a god complex failing to realize theyre human and probably overpaid for the bs they impose on some of the patients. Now im suppose to reach out to a surgeon SHE recommended and have my surgery at this same facility??? I THINK NOT!! HOW DO I KNOW THE SURGEON ISNT WORSE THAN THE PHYSICIAN?? She was horrible!! What must he be like?? I dont trust this situation. Id rather suffer and go to the hospital where id previously worked so that i can explain exactly EVERYTHING that transpired and receive proper treatment.

UPDATE: After receiving the response from the medical center below, my wife called the number provided, left a voicemail and still has not heard back. Do not take their response as them trying to help, because they do not care! Recently, my wife was in Eastsides Womens Center for the birth of our second child. The first one was at Eastside when it was part of the Emory system and we did not have any issues with the doctors of the billing. But this time around was a different story. Let me lead this off by saying that the nursing staff was great and very helpful and if you are luck enough to get one of the renovated rooms they are really nice. The real issue for us came down to the Neo-Natal doctor that they keep on staff. He is the only one there and he has to sign off on your childs discharge. They do not give you the option to use anyone else, even though everytime they asked about our pediatrian we let them know that we just Snellville Pediatrics, who is located in the building that is 20 yards away from the Womens Center. Well all seemed well and good until about a month after our daughter was born and we got a bill from Dr. Ahmeds office for his services and saying that he was out of our network and insurance would not be covering this with a hand written note notifying you to appeal the issue. Well after we do this the insurance accepts appeal and will cover this since he was the only person avialable to us. Then after this is accepted we reveice a call from Dr. Ahmeds office threatening to send us to collections if we do not pay the bill. Did they contact the insurance company for he payment? No. Did they send a new invoice after the claim had been accepted by the insurance company? No. Our problem with this really boils down to the hospital using this as the onyl available doctor at the hospital that can sign off on the discharge of your child. My insurance uses a major doctor network and I was suprised to find that this doctor was out of the network. I know we are not the only family that has gone through this issue. My question to the hospital is why they would only give you one option of doctor to use and why that doctor would be someone who is out of network for alot of people. This seems like a shady way of doing business for the hospital.

Yesterday was the absolute worst ER experience I have ever had!! We were in the Eastside Medical ER from 5:08 this morning until noon. His Diagnoses: A severe case off the stomach virus AND a mild urinary tract infection. And to top it all off, this one absolutely horrid and uncompassionate nurse, that was supposed to be taking care of him, barged in the room without even introducing herself, and started barking orders to get him undressed so that they could start him on fluids. Then she kept, unnecessarily, poking and prodding my sick baby: First she screws up and blew his vein, when trying to get an I.V. into his tiny, dehydrated veins, so the EMT had to do another IV. And then she let go of his arm while they were trying to splint his arm to keep him from puling it out, and the needle came out, so the EMT had to "save" it!! She kept telling us that if his heart rate did not come down to normal, that he would have to be transfered to a pediatric hospital (his heart rate was between 138 & 161 BPM and he is 17 months old). This scared the absolute crap out of me thinking that there might be something wrong with his heart also. Then insists that she absolutely HAS to wake him up, (after he finally dozed off) to put a catheter in him to try and get a urine sample (knowing that he was very dehydrated and wouldnt get any urine from him yet), and when I asked why she couldnt just put a urine bag on him, her response was "because the Urine bags are in PEDS and we cannot get in there right now because they are not open yet, and my shift is about to end and we need a urine sample right now before I leave" then proceeded to, literally, JAB the Catheter tube into my baby boys urethra several times, and he was screaming the most heartbreaking, blood curdling, horrific scream Ive ever heard in my entire life!!!!!!!!!!! Now he screams that same horrific cry every time he urinates, and I feel so helpless to him!! Whatever you do, if you go to this hospital, Avoid the heavy-set, African-American nurse named TRACY at all cost!! She was extremely nonchalant and all business! The absolute worst nurse ever!! Plus, There is no pediatric Anything between the hours of midnight and 3:59pm. Everyone else was great with us, though!
