Just had major surgery there and have nothing but RAVE REVIEWS to give. First, I will never go to another hospital after this experience. From pre-op to surgery and post op (nursing, administration, anesthesiology and doctors) everything was professional, competent and compassionate. I was terrified about the surgery I was about to have. Only met the surgeon twice but needed to have it done. I was able to speak with the anesthesiologist ahead of time and shared with him my anxiety regarding hospitals and he assured me that the would not leave me until I was completely relaxed ... he honored that promise but actually popping his head in the pre-op room just as the nurse was getting ready to give me my IV. He stayed, adjusting medication for relaxation/anxiety until I was taken care of. I am beyond thankful for Dr. John Burns (anesthesiologist) for taking time to take care of me with compassion and understanding. The nurse who was setting me up in pre-op was phenomenal. Continuing to talk to me (or listen) to how I was feeling, very calm and stayed "with" me until I was rolled to surgery, even asked if I wanted her to pray for me (to which I said YES!!) and she did ... its the little things that make the biggest difference. Her name is Lisa and blessed is the patient who gets her. The doctor performing the surgery was full of empathy to my fear and treated me as if he had known me for years. Very compassionate, thorough in explaining what was going to happen and answered my questions with respect. He was extraordinary! I also shared with him about the need for pain management and medications that do not work on me (morphine, etc) and he make sure I had a pump for 24 hour post surgery pain management and when it was time to send me home he made the appropriate call in the strength and type of pain med to manage pain at home. This was Dr. Jeffery Ward OB/GYN. I had been going to the same OB/GYN at Northside Hospital ... I will be moving all of my records to Dr. Wards office and am thankful to have him as my new GYN. Regarding to post op in the room, I had the BEST NURSES EVER! Jodi and Tori were amazing. Making sure I was always comfortable, peaceful and pain free. Their disposition of sincere compassion and joy were "just what the doctor ordered". Made my post op recovery peaceful. I truly felt like they were on "MY TEAM"!! Even the little things made a great impact: The dietitian came in to get my breakfast/lunch etc order. As a diabetic I am limited on selections and she was willing to insure my meals to be exactly as I requested: childrens menu of grilled cheese, raw baby carrots and unsweet tea. So thankful she was willing to color outside the lines in my meal plan. All in all I will ALWAYS go to Braselton Medical Center, it will be in my wallet, etc to not take me to the "closest hospital" (Gwinnett) but to take me to Braselton. I am completely confident in the care I receive there and am thankful for those who chose to practice medicine in Northeast Georgia.

Very poor professionalism. The reason Im giving two stars and not one is because the care was decent up until today. My father, who is 74 years old, was in room 2110 today 10.12.15. He was admitted for high blood pressure and light chest pain on Saturday the 10th. He had multiple procedures done to find the root of the problem--all of which had "good" results--in other words, not the problem. Today my father, my mother, my siblings, and myself chose to refrain from further care and to take my father from the hospital for personal reasons. Those are our own and our right to have. Everyone that we encountered was very verbal about what needed to be done to actually be able to leave; forms had to be signed...etc; all of which we agreed to willingly. Amanda, an RN that had not had any contact with us at all came in to witness the signing of the forms decided it was necessary to tell me that we would be responsible for the bills because "YOU KNOW YOUR INSURANCE ISNT GOING TO COVER ALL OF THIS. YOU HAVE TO PAY". I work in collections and customer service all day long, and this is NOT the way to address a patient AT ALL. She then proceeded to tell the nurse that was helping me with my father that "since they are leaving like this, you dont even have to walk them to the door. They can just GO and get out of here". She eventually left the room, thank goodness. The other nurse apologized profusely and said that it was not right how this Amanda person had addressed our departure. She said she was not going to let us leave like that, and that she would walk us out. We went ahead and walked out on our own, not for any other reason other than that was what my father wanted. Long story short, Amanda ruined what would have been a good experience. I will not be going back to this hospital. I took the time to share this because a nurse is supposed to be empathetic, health care workers are supposed to respect the patients wishes even if its against what they recommend. We had agreed to it all, however, because we were doing an uncommon thing, she felt the need to be unprofessional. I truly hope that when/if she is ever in the situation we were in, she get better treatment than what she gave today.

Location is very clean professional in every single way possible. That being saidmy 84Yr old grandmother went into the ER via ambulance, had horrible abdominal pain , we were thinking that maybe it could of been her gallbladder or apendix but we were wrong. They treated her well very nice caring people , as we were waiting for her blood results to come in to see if she was healthy enough for a catscan a financial lady came in with a roll in computer . It even has a camera facing you I guess they take record you to have proof in case of billing collections . Any who as soon as we mentioned self paid or emergency Medicare the atmosphere completely changed . The lady even started asking for my day of birth and full name and address, probably ran my credit as well lol. They did her catscan , they found a large mass on her left ovarie , they person who came to explain it to us was not even the doctor i believe they call her a relief nurse told us that they are reffering her to a specialist with it actually turned out to be an obgyn. I asked the nurse how about the excruciating pain , my grandma can barely speak or breath from the pain , they gave her a nausea pill and 2 pain prescriptions, my grandma never said she was nauseous?!? But Im sure that the pain pills will make her . so I continued to questioned the nurse , I asked her if it was life threatening she was stuttering telling me not momentarily , and answered my questions really short , she just kept cutting me off asking me where I parked my car . Called the obgyn they referred me to and they told me that the next available apt was in july , so what am I suppose to do ? 15 days worth of pain medicine and a pain dieing grandmother . They couldnt do the bioapsy there?? Its a multimillion dollar hospital , its in one of the most wealthiest location , well figuers the service , they know they will get there money out of the insured patients but anywho these people or hospital is not about saving lives but money god bless them and my grandmother
