The Waterford Ambulatory ran by Doctors Hospital of Michigan is the worst urgent care I have ever been to. On 1/25/14 I took my 15 year old daughter to the urgent care "Waterford Ambulator" on M59. She did not feel well and had pain in her neck. The first doctor that examined her said she thought it was a pulled muscle, but she needed a second opinion. She obviously is in training. She then brought in another doctor. He examined my daughters neck, said he was unimpressed with the pain in her neck and said it was a strained muscle. He repeated that he was unimpressed with the neck pain and he would prescribe motrin. He then flippantly turned to me and said, "Oh, by the way, she has an enlarged thyroid." As if this was funny. This news sent me and my daughter into a tail spin. What does this mean? He spoke again of his being unimpressed with her neck pain, ignoring the fact that she also did not feel well and then repeated, "Oh, but by the way, her thyroid is enlarged." He repeated this four times with the same nonchalant attitude. He then said that they would run blood work to check her thyroid levels and look for goiter. Goiter....Isnt that the term for an enlarged thyroid. If you know her thyroid is enlarged, why are you checking for goiter. So, this is now March 5, 2014. I have never heard from Waterford Ambulatory about my daughers blood tests. While I was waiting for their call, I made an appt. with my family doctor. The day before the appt. I called Waterford Ambulatory to get the test results since it was obvious they were not calling me. I told the lady who answered the phone why I was calling and that it had been 1 1/2 weeks. She said, "well, hold for a minute." Guess what. She never came back to the phone. I take my daughter to our doctor. He asked if I had the blood test results from the urgent care. I told him no and explained what had happened when I was hung up on. He then in front of me and my daugher called the Waterford Ambulatory and I am guessing got the same lady. He explained who he was and that the patient was in his office and he needed the blood test results. Her response to the doctor was, "Im sorry, but Im with a patient right now." He again repeated who he was and what he wanted. She said she would fax the results right over. Guess what. They never faxed the results. So, my doctor had to perform the same blood tests over. Two days later I got the results. When he called with the results, he asked me to try Waterford Ambulatory again. They had called two additional times after I left to see if they could get the results. Guess what. No luck. I tried two additional times to get the test results. My husband spoke with five people in one day. Including somebody at the main hospital Guess what. No answers. We were told by one person that we needed to contact the lab directly. What?! The lab isnt going to tell us anything. They sent the results to the urgent care. Urgent care then contacts the patient. What is the problem here. So, here we are. March 5, 2014. Guess what. Waterford Ambulatory has sent me a bill for $573. Oh, but if I paid in full today, they will take of 30% For what?!!! They have done nothing. This is like going to a restaurant. The waitress bringing me a bill. And never taking my order. Are you kidding me. This is the most insane, ridiculous, unprofessional, insurance scaming place I have ever been to. Guess what. I will never pay that bill. Dont ever go to Waterford Ambulatory on M59 ran by Doctors Hospital of Michigan.

This was terrible. Absolutely terrible. They did not actually treat what I came in for, and instead "found" something else - condition x. I was not even treated for that, I was "monitored" (with two ekgs). After about 18 hours of monitoring, I asked what was wrong and what tests were going to be done, and was told, "oh, condition x isnt showing up anymore" (probably poor reading of the original test data) "but we want to keep you here for another 12 hours." I asked if they were going to run ANY tests and they said no, just monitoring. I asked if I could go home - I didnt want to be "just monitored" and they told me that if I left without their consent my insurance wouldnt cover the visit. Essentially, "do exactly what we say without question or it will cost you thousands of dollars". I started panicking until I messaged my friends with what was going on and one messaged back it wasnt true - and linked to an article about how doctors and nurses say that all the time, but an actual study showed it had never happened. Which makes sense - insurance companies hate paying for stuff you DO need, why would they object to you opting out of unnecessary treatment/hospital stays? Anyway, I reconfirmed with the doctor that my current tests looked fine, and they had no other tests planned for me, and checked myself out against medical advice. When I did a follow-up with my doctor, I mentioned that Id had an ekg at 3am and another at 3pm and her jaw dropped, "they kept you there for twelve hours?!" I had to laugh sadly at her response and say no, they kept me there a lot longer than twelve hours. She was also disbelieving that they had not run a variety of certain tests. I agree with her on that - if they were keeping me so long, they could have at least saved me the legwork of having to go around town later in week getting some of these basic "OF COURSE YOU RUN THIS TEST WITH X SYMPTOM!" tests. One staff member actually said to me, "when they let you out, do your follow ups at St. Joes or McLaren". It is sad this staff member is telling patients that, but I honestly felt this staff member gave me the BEST care out of anyone in the hospital, both medically and from a bedside manner and honesty standpoint. I would rank the receptionists and staff as very helpful and polite, however the actual medical care was appalling. It was terrible. I would only return to this location if my life were in immediate danger and the other two hospitals in the area not admitting. I went here because they have a 24-hour "urgent care", and I did not think my symptoms warranted a trip to an actual ER, but next time I will just go to another hospitals ER.

I had a abscess that was drained and packed a couple days prior at another hospital. They wanted me to wait two days and have the packing removed and the dressing changed. I walked three miles to Drs Hospital seeing it was an urgent care and I didnt see this being an emergency. When I arrived there was no sign of anyone.. I signed in.. Used the restroom and had a seat.. Another 10 min went by before I even saw another person. When asked why I was there I explained and they went and got what I believe was a Dr. I explained to them how in another er what they did and what they asked for me to do. She asked to see where and when I showed her the response I got was Im not touching that after I asked what was wrong seeing that it was an urgent care she stated that I had to go back to the er of where I had it drained in the first place.. Even tho it wasnt an emergency. Ive walked out of quite a few hospitals for poor care but never have I had a dr much less an entire urgent care tell me they would not help me. This place is the worst.. Take the extra two min and drive to POH or St Joes.. Drs took an oath to help those in need of their service and when they turn you away and break that oath you know its never the place you want to go. Save the we are sorry please call us reply.. Your hospital and staff are God awful!! I hope one day their loved ones arent turned away ever like they were some kind of leper
