Went into the emergency room for my son’s injury. While waiting we had to endure this emergency room nurse bashing people she was in conflict with to whoever was on the phone. We thought she was talking to herself but noticed she had a blue tooth headset. She had died bangs and she had to be in her fifties. She was talking about the doctor she worked for saying “he was an idiot and if it was not for her he would screw something up” My son’s face looked serious as she put the doctor down,( he was our doctor)..She was also ranting about a lady named Gladys negatively. I listened as she went on to talk about her band and how they needed gigs. I asked my son and he said that’s slang for playing live shows. This person had some of the vilest ranting tantrums, one about a disabled guy who she said “she should screw over” as she put it. Another about a guitar player named Jim leaving her band and he would never play in another band of she had her way. Even one about how her mother had bought her a home and this spoiled little brat says “she’s not doing me any favors” She even mentions a new boyfriend she has and how he is a good worker and does as he is told. At this point I told my son to put on his I pod so he would not hear her moaning.. Just wow…Last thing I heard was her bragging about taking a chair into a side room for 45 mins and hiding while others did the work in the emergency room. She talked about “How this job was terrible and the people that worked around her were useless” I was sick of listening to her and wished I had my own I Pod. When she came back into the room she had instructions for me and my son and was rude to my son because he had his I pod on and did not know she was talking to him. I don’t blame my kid after all she was talking from the first moment we got there. If we ever have to go here again and I see her I will demand another emergency room person to help us. Her name tag said Tracy (something) last name started with a D. Bernard Stratton Crystal Lake.

HORRIBLE PLACE I filed this report with the Illinois BBB I was fortunately in a restaurant when the heart attack occurred. A doctor who was having lunch at the restaurant checked and found no pulse. A nurse gave me CPR until the ambulance arrived. I was brought to the hospital in an ambulance on 2/2/2015. At Good Shepard Hospital, after I was stabilized, THEY confirmed by my blood test that I had a heart attack and that my blood pressure was over 170. I was admitted to the cardiac unit on 2/2/2015. They performed $25,000.00 of tests. Good Shepard decided it was not a heart attack, even though the doctor at the restaurant said my heart stopped and their own blood tests and blood pressure results had all confirmed a heart attack. They decided I needed to be drugged and restrained. They actually tied me to the bed. I never saw any test results. I never got any prescriptions. I complained bitterly at the time and also after I got out. Kelly Winger of patient relations at Good Shepard Hospital sent me a letter on 4/20/2015 saying they would review my case. On 4/23 they said “It was determined that the care you received was consistent with the standard of care required to treat your condition and symptoms appropriately. “ (Since when do you drug and tie a heart attack patient and tie them to the bed) She continued, “While you were here you were so disoriented that it was necessary to restrain you for your own safety” We left for Arizona on 4/26/15 for 6 weeks. When we returned we found that Good Shepard had turned our account over to collection. I called Kelly Winger of patient relations and explained that I was disoriented because they drugged me. She didn’t care. I have since found other patients who were misdiagnosed and drugged and sent home after several days. How can a hospital be allowed to operate this way?

DONT EVER GO!! I would rather bleed out next time. Ive never been so humiliated in my life!! I was actually escorted out of the hospital by two police officers because I wanted to find my lost shoes. So instead of finding my loss she was I was escorted out into below freezing weather in nothing but hospital socks and was forced to walk from Barrington to Lakemore as a high fall risk patient and I fell many times on my walk home. I only left under the threat of being arrested by a security guard for disorderly conduct when I didnt raise a voice for a hand it to anyone. I was also told that there is no security footage and the actual ER center. Not the rooms but the center itself. Ive never been missed treated so badly in my natural born life. I would condone everyone to go to Condell medical center!!! NEVER Good Shepherd unless you have the "white privilege". I also have a huge knot on my head from being a fall risk patient and hitting my head on the sink. I was told to go find another hospital after hitting my head on the sink by a nurse named Tiffany. This is the most absurd that I have ever been treated in my life. Ive never been inside of a house for the bathroom crying my eyes out because of how someone is treating need to go to the melanin in my skin. Ive never been hung up on before by the security office but apparently at good Shepherd they condone this behavior. If I could give this place a zero I would but apparently I have to put one star. WORST HOSPITAL IVE EVER BEEN TOO. Ive never heard of a place thats kind of their patients out barefoot and threatened them with being arrested for wanting to seek medical help.

No hospital is perfect. Ive lived here all my life and have been in the ER for more reasons than I can count. The staff when you first come in and get checked in are very knowledgeable about what they do. The are efficient and display compassion when asking questions. Once its time to go down the hallway in an ER room, its a little different. Ive never had a nurse walk WITH me - always quite a ways ahead of me. They dont keep in mind that Im sick, Im having severe back pain, a severe migraine or some other ailment which is why Im there and why Im walking slow. Once Im in the room I know Im going to be there for at least 4-5 hours and theyre going to draw my blood. Theres no good reason for this, in my opinion. Most of the male doctors are the ones I cannot tolerate the most. They are beyond arrogant, deaf to what Im saying and only make eye contact when they are done talking and leave. The female doctors are so much better and educate me on whats going on and what I can do to help myself or prevent my illness from happening. One time I did have a nurse insist that I had to have a certain drug administered in my IV. When I told her I didnt want it, she did it anyway. I was so upset I talked to the doctor in charge. She agreed that I should not have been given that drug. That nurse was fired. My responsibility in my care is to speak up if something is taking too long or ask questions if I dont understand whats happening. Beyond that its always my choice to get the best care I need.
