BAD SERVICE, RUDE STAFF, WRONG PERSCRIPTION! This was in December 2009. This was on my first visit and I would never go back again and I don’t recommend it for anyone! I called for an appointment at short notice and they had many openings compared to the other places that I called that were completely booked for weeks. I scheduled an appointment for me and my husband. I arrived early and even though there were not many patients I waited for a while. My husband came to the office a few minutes later since he had just gotten off of work and his appointment was a whole hour later. The Doctor was quick and nice however HE DID NOT LISTEN to what I said. I could only do either glasses or contacts I said I wanted both but I could only do one at the time due to the insurance only being able to cover one. So he examined my eyes, dilated them and later said that my eye sight had weaken and that I needed new glasses. So I go out and meet with the cashier and he is billing me for an exam for glasses and an exam for contacts. I told him that I only asked for and exam for glasses and he said that the Doctor had done both exams and that I could not talk to him because he was with another patient and that the insurance only covered one of the exams, at this point my husband approaches me and he asks if I was done because he was ready to go, I asked why if he was up next to see the Doctor and that way I could dispute the exams done, he said that he was not going to see the Doctor and that he cancelled his appointment. The cashier asked if I was going to get the contacts and glasses as well so that he could get the bill ready and my husband said no she is only paying for the exam, my husband looked mad and asked me to pay and for us to leave. So I paid and as we were walking out my husband asked me to ask the receptionist to confirm his cancelled appointment, so I asked and she said in a cocky way “Yes I already talked to him.” When we got home I asked my husband why he changed his mind and he said that when I went in to see the doctor THE RECEPTIONIST WAS RUDE TO HIM she asked him for his name and when he told her she became irritable and said I was about to cancel your appointment!, you could have been filling out the paper work already! he told her that he was AN HOUR early to his appointment and that he was not late, SHE ROLLED HER EYES and so he became upset and said "you now what cancel my appointment" he also mentioned that the receptionist was also RUDE TO AN ELDERLY MAN who had an appointment after him. It was a Friday in December and the office was closed for the holidays so due to the bad experience I took my prescriptions to another office and got my glasses, I could not see a thing, it was blurry. I go back to this other office thinking it was their mistake and no they only gave me the glasses with the prescription from Rosin’s THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG PERSCRIPTION, I had to pay out of pocket at this other place for the correct prescription because the insurance could not cover it until the dispute was finalized. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO TO THIS OFFICE FOR SERVICE. BAD SERVICE AND RUDE STAFF!

Ive never written a review before but I have to warn others about this company. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. The company LIED to a contact lens retailer that my prescription was expired when it was not. When I did my research, it states: Prescribers must: give a copy of the contact lens prescription to the patient at the end of the contact lens fitting – even if the patient doesn’t ask for it. provide or verify the contact lens prescription to anyone who is designated to act on behalf of the patient, including contact lens sellers. They did neither and lied to them. You, as a customer, have a right to shop around to buy glasses and contact lenses from wherever you want. Dont do business with a company that lies and tries to bully their customers into going back for more exams. The exam itself was nothing to write home about and I specifically remember the retailers being very forceful when asking me to buy contacts from them initially. On top of this, they hack on other things for your exam ($85 for an eye exam and $150 for contact lens exam). When i asked about the contact lens exam, they told me it was the part where they had be try on contacts.... when all i did was put on a new pair of TRIAL lenses that I have always used. The staff is rude, the manager happens to never be around or call back, and they intimidate their customers to buy their products. Go somewhere else.

I went to Rosin Eyecare in July 2010 because my insurance had changed and they were one of the only providers in the area. Their staff was great and seemed to really like what they do. Ive never had a more thorough eye exam in my life and Ive gone to many. My insurance worked out great with their new High Definition Progressive lenses and NIKE flexon frame. They even set me up with multifocal contact lenses. I didn;t even think I could wear, contact lenses. I would highly recommend Rosin Eyecare to anyone. They are very professional and specialize in comprehensive medical examinations of the eyes. Since Ive been there Ive found may of my friends and co-workers have been going there for years. Someone said theyve been around for 80 years.

I would not go back. I have been twice. Each time, I have waited at least 30 minutes and as long as an hour to wait to see the optometrist, even though they didnt seem busy. There were 4 people in the front area and they were all busy shuffling papers. When I finished my eye exam, it took 20 minutes to get my contact order through. The staff took several minutes walking through their overly complicated eye discount plan. I think that this is a place that succeeds in spite of itself. When people ask me how my experience was there, I say to pass and try to find somewhere else. It is really a shame because I like to support local business and the optometrist is thorough and nice, but I cant handle the inefficiency.

This place is less then average. The Dr was fantastic, but sadly the staff was not. Rude is understatement. Unprofessional would be the kindest way to sum it up. They never answer the phone. Told me my glasses would be ready in 7-10 business days, they were not. Then I asked to have them shipped to my home and they sent to Northbrook office. I called and after the 7th call they picked up. I asked for manager and was put on hold, so the lady thought. I was not though. Heard every thing she said about me none which was pleasant. Still 2 days later no call back from the manager. There are 5 other VSP providers down Roosevelt Rd. I would suggest them vs Rosin.
