Worst experience Ive had ever at any optical store. Ive been wearing glasses for 52 years. Ive never had to wait so long. They told me 9 times that their lab messed up my glasses. They kept saying we dont know when well get them. When I finally got them they were to big and to heavy. I went back and chose a smaller more appropriate pair. Brian told me they would go ahead and remake them. 2 hours later I get a call saying Pierre the manager wont approve them for remaking. They made me wait a very long time and waisted a lot of my time you would think they would be glad to take care of me. I now have a pair of glasses I cant wear and Im out a lot of money and time invested. Ive been a business owner in the area for 20 years and I never thought I would see a business like this here in town. Please find somewhere else to trust with such an important purchase.

As a new customer, I went to Spex in Grayslake for an annual eye exam. I was met by friendly staff who assisted me with the paperwork and insurance forms. My optometrist, Carla Iafigliola, O.D. appreciated that I was a Science teacher and gladly went into depth when explaining the procedures and answering my questions. I loved listening to her not only explain what the procedure was but also how it works and why it’s important to my eye health. If you want a place with top of the line equipment paired with knowledgeable staff, try on a pair of Spex.

Dr. Carla is the most competent optometrist I have ever had. After having been diagnosed with pink eye incorrectly multiple times, I went to Dr. Carla who was able to help me with the severe allergic reaction I was having to contacts. She was even able to refit me with contacts I was not allergic to. I will always be returning to Dr. Carla and would recommend her 1,000x over again.

Worst experience ever after wearing my contact lenses for nearly 30 years. Dr. Carla is a sweetheart however the rest of the stuff including their manager is lacking basics of professionalism. This is money hungry company and please do yourself a favor and go to competition!

Refused prescription details. When I called to request my prescription details on my last set of contacts, the gentleman that answered the phone outright refused. I am looking into this, pretty sure I am entitled to it and this refusal is illegal...
