We fostered for this shelter for a short while and never again. Within 2 days of arriving at my home said foster cat developed severe diarrhea. When I informed ADOPT that said foster had diarrhea they did nothing. 5 days after the diarrhea occurred she had stopped eating. Their solution send home with meds but not look at foster the next day. On day 8 of the foster being in my home she had aborted 3 kittens and was near death. Called them again demanding they see said foster they did. Their vet sent me home with meds after giving fluids to her. Take foster home 2 hours later foster has gone even more downhill. Call again and demand foster be seen by a vet and they send me to one where that vet found another kitten inside and tons of puss in the uterus and believes she had distemper. ADOPT ended up putting said foster to sleep after that. I have personal cats of my own that I now have to worry about because ADOPT refused to help with their cat in foster care. I have had to bleach my office and cannot allow any cats in that room for a very long time. I will be reporting them and making sure something is done about this and will be calling demanding a necropsy be done on said foster even if I have to pay for it myself.

If I could give negative stars I would. I went in to adopt a kitten last week and I found one that was perfect for me. I filled out an application and after about the fifth day I called back to see what the hold up was, a male answered the phone to inform me that my application was fine, the cat needed time to heal from being neutered and that we could pick him up later in the week. About an hour later I get a voicemail saying that they had given the cat to a different home. I called to try and understand how a different family took home a cat that was on hold already by our application- seeing as how we were first to fill one out, and why they thought it was acceptable to not discuss with us first on why they felt our application was not up to par. The women on the phone refused to give her name and repeatedly said there was nothing she could do about it. She also lied about the information on my application! Telling me we put down things that we NEVER EVEN WROTE. I am furious with this company, I am upset because I was expecting a new member of the family only to be told he had been given away. DO NOT go here unless you are prepared for snobby employees to question everything about your life. So dissapointig.

I got my first cat, Clover from there and the process was great. I went back a second time to get my second cat, Hazel. Again, it was good. Then Clover passed away from getting hit by a cat, but the staff was super understanding about that. We were looking for a new friend for Hazel. And as many of the other people have already said, the staff is SUPER particular and restricts to basically two cats! They will make sure that you have a problem with each and every cat you see. The staff also changed, and it seems like they have a lot of new people everytime, so no one even gets to know the cats, to be able to adopt them out! We were gonna get this one cat named Aiden, UNTIL the owner told us all about his behavioral issues! We passed up so many other cats only to be told all the negative stuff right before we were going to adopt him!! Why werent we told this earlier?!?! Overall, the staff is overly picky and seem to not know a lot about their owners. I wont be going back soon.

Adopted a dog with some behavioral issues, fine. Forced to go through A Sound Beginning program and pay $175 for dog training. ok. Completed it and Julie from A Sound beginning tells me she will contact ADOPT and tell them i completed training and to not charge me the $150 fee for not completing the program since i did complete it. ADOPT still charges me $150 because they think i did not complete the program. Got in touch with Julie, she re-sends the necessary paperwork, Got in touch with Emma Hairrell from ADOPT and says my refund is coming in a week or two. Refund never came and Emma will not respond to my emails. Thats ok, you can have my forced donation ADOPT, but you wont get another dime from me or anyone i know.

I was recommended this shelter through a friend so I went in and was able to sit with the kittens for an hour or so until I found one I really connected with. The staff was really friendly and brought toys in for me so I could play with the kittens. I gave them my application and they called me back a few days later. They did give her to me before she was spayed, but covered the costs for the surgery as long as I brought her back two weeks later to have it done. Shes healthy and the facilities were clean, and its also a plus that they are a no kill shelter. They really helped me find my new fur baby and I couldnt love her more if I tried.

We were volunteers at ADOPT for a number of years. This is a great organization that takes excellent care of their animals. Unfortunately there are personalities on cat adoption team that can be condescending and patronizing. The primary objective of a shelter should to be looking for reasons to say "yes" to a good home as opposed to searching for excuses to say "no". Based on other reviews it appears we are not alone in our opinion and the outward/public face of this shelter is doing it a disservice. It is a shame because the organization as a whole and staff that provide care to the cats are first class.

This review is late but I apoted a cat by the shelter name Toastada there May of 2015. Since then I call her Sadie. She is an amazing cat and a perfect fit for my home! They say the the animal chooses you. I thought the staff was very helpful when I was there. They knew some of her back story and gave me the best advice they could when making my decidion to adopt her. The process only took a few days then I finally got a call back Friday and picked her up the next day. Sadie is a such a blessing and doing very well. I would definitely come back in the future. I can tell all the volunteers love the animals.

I recently adopted a small dog from A.D.O.P.T. They are very thorough about who they allow to adopt. We even had to bring our German Shepherd to meet the little dog. They were very pleased with how he responded to the smaller dog. The facility is extremely clean and all of the animals appear to be well cared for. I would adopt from them again if the time ever comes. I highly recommend them. Our new little addition to the family is a joy. She had all of her shots and neutering taken care of prior to the adoption. We absolutely love her as does our Shepherd.
