Dr. Bleem and Dr. Burke are both phenomenal people. You can tell that they truly love animals and want the best for their patients. Dr. Burke was an incredible leader to us as my husband and I became puppy parents for the first time. He was patient with our questions and offered so many helpful tips. When our dog developed an upper respiratory infection that turned into pneumonia, Dr. Burke was away from the office so Dr. Bleem stepped in to help. For anyone reading any reviews saying that they think this animal hospital seems "more interested in the money than in the animals", I encourage you to make an appointment so that you may see for yourself how wrong those statements are. When our dog developed pneumonia, Dr. Bleem gave us many treatment options ranging from the most expensive to the least expensive. He was honest about the severity of the situation but also about his opinion regarding what he thought would ultimately cure our dog given his decades of experience. His recommendations lead us to choose the LEAST EXPENSIVE option. Our pup is alive and well and its because Dr. Bleem knew what he was doing. Also, I dont know a single doctor that will text his patients in the evenings or on weekends to personally check in, answer ANY questions, and ensure things are going well. Dr. Bleem does this. Personally I think hes a little nuts for being so available, however I would pay some serious money to have a licensed vet available at 10pm on a Wednesday night to answer my dumb questions and give me advice. Think about that. Most recently, our second dog (a rescue) contracted ringworm. Dr. Bleem saw her the very next day before regular business hours in order to accommodate my work schedule and was incredibly in tune to my dogs anxiety and emotional distress that she was experiencing from simply being at the vet. Anti-fungal medication is not cheap. Dr. Bleem prescribed medication from the clinic, however he encouraged us to call around to the different pharmacies in town to shop for a better price. We were able to find the same anti fungal for cheaper (but not THAT much cheaper- ouch!). Dr. Bleem called the order in the same day and we saved a significant amount of money. For those of you who dont know, this facility also donates countless hours and resources to help Wishbone Rescue and other shelters in the area by providing spays/neuters and other essential procedures to dogs without homes. These veterinarians work well into the night (until 10pm and later) to provide these services. They all have hearts of gold. I would recommend them to my family and best friend and at times wish they serviced people too. Thank you doctors! You are the best.

Weve taken our dog here for years. In his old age, and with hip problems, weve warned them repeated to please be careful when clipping his paws as the last time we had him in there he came home very sore. Today after expressly telling Dr. Bleam that my dog was having severe pain and to be careful on his legs while he got his nails clipped, a bath and his regular shots they decided that it would be a good idea to take him outside to run with other dogs "three times"! When we picked up our dog he was hardly able to stand and Dr. Bleam says "well he hasnt been like this while hes been here. He was running outside 3 times today with other dogs and must have overdone it." This is the second time the dog has come home from the vet unable to walk and unable to get into the house after leaving the house in the morning in a comfortable condition. We were told the dog would be ready to pick up at 2:30pm after having arrived at 9am. Not only is this an unacceptable timeframe for the services being performed, we finally had to call to ask about the dogs status at 4pm after we had not been notified. Apparently they needed the extra time to ensure that my animal was injured through mistreatment before he was allowed to go home. After the blood results come back tomorrow morning confirming that we can indeed give him pain medications for his hip problems we will not be returning to Kruger Animal Hospital, and I would advise anyone who loves their pets to not use their services either.

I had a very good experience at Kruger Animal Hospital. I live in Decatur. My regular vet, Jim Fleming of Assumption, Ill. is on vacation. My two year old pit bull, Ralphie, became very ill on Wed. 1/20 and I was referred by Doc Flemings office to Dr. Bleem. Im so grateful the staff worked us into the schedule on very short notice-they were contacted about 2:00 p.m. and told us to head on over to Normal. I love the clinic facility, the staff is great and Dr. Bleem went above and beyond in treating and following up on Ralphie. I knew, after talking with Dr. Bleem for five minutes, that Ralphie was in good hands and was not at all apprehensive about leaving him overnight and heading back to Decatur. Dr. B followed up with me that Wed. evening and twice Thursday morning and then again on Friday night. When I picked up Ralphie on Thursday afternoon, he was 100% better. I appreciate the thorough instructions I received from Dr. Bleem and his assistant regarding medication and diet. I am following his recommendation for further diagnostics next week and look forward to working with him and his staff on Ralphies continued recovery. Thank you, Dr. Bleem and everyone who had a part in caring for my boy!

Kruger Animal Hospital is phenomenal! I have previously raved about Dr Burk and the office support staff ; who are an amazing team of professionals but now I must share a little known secret...Krugers groomer, Jennifer works absolute magic! We took our 1/2 Newfie 1/2 Old English Sheepdog, Bellah, in for Spa Day on Valentines Day. Bellah went in looking like a hot mess Phyllis Diller and came out looking like the Bell(ah) of the Ball! I had provided a rather long list of specific requests- eliminate her beard, facial needs, paw/nail specifics, etc. EVERY single detail was met with perfection. In addition, Im not certain what shampoo/conditioner she was bathed in but she is amazingly soft and smells like a dream-NOT a perfume-like smell a clean, delicious smell!!! WOW! Krugers is a phenomenal place where pet parents and their pets are treated with the highest level of professionalism and compassion that I have ever experienced. Thank you to everyone there that makes every experience a pleasure! P.S. Oh, and that sweet, tireless, texting vet that you may have read about in previous comments, he DOES exist there and he dedicates himself to keeping parents informed and at ease!

I was thoroughly impressed with the entire staff at Kruger Animal Hospital. We had our 5 month old puppy, Echo in for 2 days. She was vaccinated at a different place but still came terrible ill. Dr. Bleem went above & beyond for her! He talked me through everything and many times when it came to the bill did he say "we will do what we can." I hardly think they care more about money than the care of your animal like stated by some reviews! Their FIRST priority is your animals well being! And that is very clear by their behavior & the way they work! Dr. Bleem did everything he could to work around my busy work schedule to make sure my dog got the care she needed to get back to health. Marian (sp?) the tech was amazing the entire time! Talked me through medications & aftercare for our dog! The ladies in the front were so sweet. The ENTIRE staff is one amazing team! We just moved to town & Kruger has officially become our go-to vet for everything! Thank you for all you guys have done for my fur baby!!!
