Ive been taking my dog to Summit animal clinic for a couple years. Ive been to EVERY vet in the surrounding areas over the last 17 years and only wish Id found this vet sooner!! The care my dog receives here is priceless!! At ALL the other facilities Ive been charged more than twice as much for less then half the treatments! The prices are unbeatable, but the staffs compassion for all animals is what draws me back! I see and overhear the staff talking to animal owners and the animals themselves when Im there....hearing Dr Tracy say that "it doesnt matter if the owner cant afford the surgery. The dog needs it to live and Ill perform it free of charge" made my eyes water and my heart constrict. To know that these animals mean as much to her as the owners themselves is something we unfortunately dont come by often enough anymore. To all the people complaining about the "appearance" of this facility can go back to your "fancy" vet clinics. Id rather go to a facility that puts all their focus on the care of animals and NOT the "look" of their décor. Id rather the prices be reasonable and the attention go to the animals and their owners where it belongs. I HIGHLY recommend this clinic for anyones fur-babies...youll only be disappointed that you didnt find it sooner!! Thank you for all that you do Summit Animal Clinic!

Ok you walk in and the place looks like a total dive. It is so little I cant believe the amount of staff that work there. They are right on top of one another. That being said a fancy building = high prices it does not equal good care. I was very embarrassed because my dogs 8 and 10 had never had a dental cleaning and the one puppy had horrible breath. I went in and got their shots updated. Rabies ( with tags)shot and two other shots so they could be admitted and be safe around other dogs. The normal shots all dogs get. Plus antibiotic pills so the dogs could have their dentals done at the next appointment. $75 a dog! WOW crazy affordable. Then we were able to schedule an appointment for 2 weeks later. Do to my dogs ages they recommended blood work but said it was up to us. If they found something in the blood work they would postpone the cleanings and take care of the other problems first. Blood work for two dogs ($50 each), deep teeth cleanings for two dogs, 5 teeth pulled total, pain meds, and more antibiotic and my total was $345. It was a great deal. I felt like staff cared about my babies. Their teeth and breath are fabulous! I have found a new vet!

Took my 3 Cane Corso puppies here and they were all scheduled for ear cropping, 2nd shots, and microchipping. We get there and the place looks a little but suspect (not well kept) but figured wed try it anyways. We werent told the puppies had to stay there ovrnight, until we checked them in..come to find out they had to stay there 3 nights! We call back the next morning to follow up and were told theyve pushed back ear cropping 2 weeks from the day we dropped them off, therefore the puppies stayed overnight for no reason! These puppies are on a Natural diet, we gave the vet food to feed the puppies and we find out they disregarded our request and feed them their food instead. Drove to pick them up, and how are they given back to us..?!?! Smelly, OVERFED, and scared. Apparently THREE puppies (Mastiffs might I add) spent the night in ONE cage where food was just left for them to eat throughout the entire night, and they smelled like theyve peed over eachother.WHO DOES THIS?!! Car ride home one of the puppies vomits 3 times and all of their stool are runny and watery.NEVER AGAIN...!

This place is the best. All of the staff are so caring, the Vets are all top notch. Dr.s Tracee, Jen, and Nathan are wonderful. They dont push any unnecessary treatments on you or your pet and support whatever decision you want to make for your pets care. Yes, sometimes there is a wait, but they try to get you in as quick as they can. No one is standing around here. They have a very busy practice because the quality of care is excellent. Call first, and ask how busy they are on any given day. And if the phone is busy, call back!! I highly recommend Summit Animal Hospital and would never take my furry kids anywhere else. Ive been taking my pets here for at least 10 years now and they consistently try to keep the costs down too. Im so grateful I found this gem of a place, and I trust them with all my animals health care completely!!

This is like doggy love heaven by doctors who REALLY care about them! Dr. Nathan is awsome! I took my poor sick frenchy who was vomitting and pooping blood due to a horrible upset stomach!;( He did an excellent job at diagnosing him, answer questions after work hours, and again when I brought him back and he gave me REALISTIC options to keep on treating him. He is great he loves animals and truly cares for them. This is place is something else. very diferent from ALL those place who say they love animals bla bla they want your money basically! ... It is not like this HERE they respect the owner and care for the dog! thats why its packed here! Love it this will be my dogs new doctor! They are the most reasonable place for pricing.. I agree with people if you dont come here you will only regret it

My pet died last April and I should have written this review then. I love Summit Animal Hospital. I wouldnt take my dogs anywhere else. They tried to save my dog and barely charged me what any other local Vet would have charged. They dont have the fancy building and the pretty atmosphere--they dont need it. The love and care that they showed me towards all of my dogs is what keeps them very popular. They are a neighborhood Vet. I hope they never sell out to a large company. Today I will take my new rescue dog to SAH. I expect the same experience I have had each time I went there. My experience was sad but they are wonderful people. Dr Tracey is the best vet I have ever met. Trust me its not the building that makes the Vet great. It is the Doc, and the people behind the scenes.

My fiancee and I had a very very hard time finding an affordable vet to x-ray and cast our bunny who broke his leg. Youd be hard pressed to find anyone in the Chicago area as reasonably priced as Dr. Friederich and his staff (his son, daughter and others). Youll have to be patient, they get quite busy at their little location, so you may have to let your animal spend a night or two if there is surgery. Last I checked he doesnt charge crazy boarding fees either. Not the cleanest animal hospital, but Im thankful we went. Total cost for an x-ray and two soft casts was half or less than any other place we went to. Gary and Tracy gave us great attention--we recommend them to everybody. We come all the way from Oak Brook Terrace.
