On a Friday afternoon I had to call Dr. Matts emergency number and leave a voice mail regarding one of my children who had fallen off of a bike and bumped a front tooth hard enough to visible slant it backward a bit. He called back in about 5 minutes (he was in a meeting in Chicago) and asked some questions. He then gave me some advice and said to call back if things got worse. Although I didnt call back because the situation had stabilized, he called me back about 2 hours later to check on my son. I appreciate that level of service, especially considering that it was a weekend and he was out of town. (He had also said hed be back the next afternoon and could see my son then if things had worsened.) My 7 and 4 and 1/2 year old sons love going to see Dr. Matt, and my 3 year old is looking forward to his first visit with him this fall. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist!

They refused to see my son who is in desperate need of work done due to me losing transportation on my first appointment day. I am a single mother of three and live 2 hrs away from the dentist transportation wasnt safe nor possible on that day due to the brakes going. So I set a new date and on the day of his appointment months after the appointment was set up I got a call from the office saying they couldnt see him because they had put his name wrong and that my son was not welcome at there dentistry they didnt even offer any other places that I can take him. They just said they cant see him there. Me and my son dont deserve to continue to go through this type of pain because no one will see him. It was very wrong for him to deny a child who is in pain everyday the dental assistance that is much needed.

We absolutely love Dr. Matt. Both my boys go to him. When my youngest had a cracked tooth, he called me back that very day, looked at his X-rays, and scheduled us to come in. The extraction was painless - no needles, with nitrous oxide in a strawberry smelling mask, and Dr. Matt took his time and was very careful! Our boys have a good experiences at the dentist! We also love that he is very honest - doesnt recommend any extra treatments (for instance, he put off getting our sons teeth sealed until the next visit so that he can seal all the molars, too - instead of having us have the procedure done twice). Hes also very friendly, takes time to answer everyones questions, and is very good about following up and knowing whats going on. I highly recommend him!

This is the best Dentist Office ever! The kids get to watch movies and wear sunglasses (so the light doesnt bother their eyes) while getting any work done. Dr. Matt did excellent work on our oldest son who broke an adult tooth several years ago. They fit him for a false tooth and have done excellent follow up care. The dental assistants are very kind and always take the time to explain to our children what is going on (even though the kids only care about the movie). They have done a great job of working us in their schedule in case of an emergency or other concern. If you need a Dentist for your child, give them a try, you wont be disappointed. P.S. There are several free reserved parking spots just to the west of their building.

Pyfferoen Pediatric Dentistry has been an excellent provider for our sons. We cant say enough great things about Dr. Matt and his entire office staff! From movies in the office to prizes they get each visit to the great demeanor the entire office staff has with kids, we couldnt be more pleased and our sons love going to the dentist! When our youngest fell at a park and we couldnt tell what damage was done, his office was able to fit us in that same afternoon so wed have peace of mind! We actually live in Des Moines but drive to Ames to see Dr. Matt...hes that good!!

If you can pick and choose what children you see based upon the type of insurance they have, you should be able to give me a recommendation on where to take him that is an appropriate substitution - not just the only other clinic that takes that type of insurance, but is NOT baby friendly. Disappointed because they were highly recommended, but what is the point of my son having Medicaid when any dentist can just decide not to accept it? =/

We love Dr. Matt he got us right in for An emergency after hours at 7:30 at night and took my daughters tooth out and she didnt cry they had TV with cartoons on andthe staff were very friendly great place to take your kids when they need to go to the dentist

"Multiple missed appointments" led to this Dr dropping my son. One missed appt in March 2016 was all the receptionist could tell me. My family has been going to him since before my son who is 6 was born, but hey whatever. Thanks Dr. Matt.

Dr. Matt and his staff really made my son feel comfortable and took great care of him. He worked closely with the Cleft doctors at the University of Iowa to make sure everything was done the right way and in a timely manner.
