I thought Id write a review since the last one posted was 2006. This office is probably the central OBGYN office for people in the Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities. Its very difficult to get an appointment with your primary OBGYN that isnt 6 months out! I LOVE my doctor Michelle Hocking I wish she could see me for my yearly this year but shes booking 6 months out, so it wouldnt really be a yearly--more like a "year and a half-ly"! Thats really the only down side about this office. Ive had 2 pregnancies watched with OBGYN. They seem to have top equipment for monitoring (ultrasounds/NST) The staff/nurses/lab people that Ive encountered when seeing my doctor Michelle Hocking, have been friendly and careful and very thorough! Sometimes taking extra precaution with more tests etc to be sure all is ok with me/baby. Otherwise I recommend and recommended this office to friends/family for pregnancies and check ups and overall really like it. I appreciate that its close to/associated with the hospital-it just makes you feel very "taken care of". And for Dr.Hocking-shes a VERY sweet lady, very compassionate, and thorough-takes her time lets you ask questions if you have them, I love that she doesnt seem, in the exam room, that shes on a time constraint...she talks to you and listens and really knows her stuff!

I have been a patient of OB-GYN Associates since 1993 and have not had any issues until just recently. I have loved my doctor and I am very sad that I have been banned from the office. I have had a number of appointments over the past few months to try and figure out some issues that I have had. I have made payments on my account and then due to the number of appointments that were so close together I informed them that I would wait for insurance to catch up so I know what my true bill is. I then received the bill that looked all caught up. I didnt get it paid the day I received it and within a week I received a reminder letter. I received it on Wednesday, May 29th, and then today received a letter dated June 2nd informing me that my next appointment has been cancelled and that I need to find a new doctor. So I guess they are under the assumption that mail is delivered 7 days a week. Since this appointment was to check to check the treatment I received previously is okay, I now have to wait longer to have this checked until I can find a new doctor, have my records transferred, and try to get into that doctor. So much for caring about patient care and ensuring that all is well with the treatments that have been rendered. Very disappointed!

I have been a patient of OBGYN for over 20 years. I called to make my yearly mammogram and was scheduled for Oct. 28, 2016. I was not aware of the fact, until I checked in, that OBGYN had also scheduled me for a breast exam, that I did not make an appointment for. Yesterday, I get a bill from OBGYN for $272.00 that I owe them for a breast exam, pelvic exam and pap smear. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. I am on Medicare and a supplement plan. I tried calling OBGYNs billing department. All I got was a recording, leave a message and we will call you back between 24 and 48 hrs. No live person to help. I left 4 messages, still no reply back. I called Medicare, they denied my claim from OBGYN, because they charged me for a breast exam, pelvic exam and pap smear and she told me that they only pay for those charges every 2 years. OBGYN failed to tell me that I was reliable for the payment of $272.00, for the breast exam, since, my prior exam was just a year ago. Oh, this gets worse...OBGYN..CHARGED ME FOR A PAP SMEAR AND A PELVIC EXAM, THAT THEY NEVER PERFORMED ON ME!!!!! I will be leaving OBGYN...I dont need this kind of drama and stress in my life.

I will never go back to this place. Very rude employees and the doctor I had couldnt remember anything about me. Even though I had just written it down in the waiting room and she had the paper in her hand. She clearly didnt read it and didnt care how upset I was getting having to repeat how many MCs I have had every single time I saw her. I ended up having an allergic reaction to medication she prescribed to me and had to call the emergency number to get help. But had a different doctor call me back hours later just to tell me he didnt know what to do because he wasnt my doctor. A week later I had an ultrasound and found out I was MCing again. After the ultrasound, I saw my doctor and she claimed to have no idea about my allergic reaction to the medicine. Even though it was written in my chart and I talked to my nurse there about it earlier that week, They have so many patients, they have no idea what is going on. Also, the nurse never returned my phone calls when she said she would and never called when the lab said I should expect a call from her. It took days to find out what my levels were.

I have only 1 complaint in the 22 + years that I have been a loyal, upstanding, pay at time of service, patient at this facility. Before I get to that I want to commend the Doctors and nurses and those in the labs, as they are all excellent, kind, caring, patient; taking time to listen to questions, to hear concerns, offering information and answers, at all stages in a womans life from prenatal care to perimenapause as well as all in-between, and all after that. The billing office however, twice by phone, displayed such a shocking lack of professionalism, disrespect, by speaking with such a harsh, sharp, demanding tone catching the caller, me, by such surprise, that I was basically speechless. Communication has yet to be resolved other than I will go elsewhere. This treatment was utterly demeaning. It has been the ONLY complaint I have in the 22+ years of my going to this place of business.

I have a doctor that I have being seeing since I was 16 years old and I absolutely love her! However the billing practices are absoultely shameful. I received a bill for under 30 dollars for a visit last November I called to ask if I could pay it when I came In for a appt in less then 20 days I was told that would be fine and today I received a letter that I needed to find another doctor because my bill was not paid! What? So 21 years and two kids with the office means nothing because of a bill for under 30 dollars that I was told it was okay to pay at my appt In a couple weeks? I watched a friend die this year ravaged by ovarian cancer so this is absolutely deplorable to me. I have let a message with the billing department so we will see if we can fix this mess if not I guess I will find another doctor after 21 years and thousands of dollars spent at this office.
