I was told on the Friday when I dropped my female pup off for a spay surgery that I would be called when they were finished with her by 5, unless there were problems and she needed to stay. I received no call Friday. Saturday at 11:53 a.m. I got a message (I was in the middle of a haircut and couldnt answer). The message said, "Animal Aide Hospital, we will be closing at noon are you coming to get her?" Mind you, the message was left less than 10 till closing. My husband and I looked up hours on the internet and figured someone had to be checking on the animals. They obviously werent checking the phones, though. They opened back up Monday at 10. My sister and I were there first thing. My poor door has been there all weekend without her humans. We waited there a good 10-15 mins while they answered phones before they even acknowledged the people that were in front of them. Then a lady asked me a casual question I answered then asked her if there had been a problem with my pups surgery. She said "no". I said, "oh because, I was told Id be called Friday when you were done"... "No, we dont call people or wed be on the phone all day" (I dont know the mans name that said this to me he was very rude) "Well, thats what I was told," I said. Then he said he was sorry for that. I told him thank you fot the apology, but he remained defensive. I dont recall when in the conversation but at one point he said, "what is the point in telling me this" and yes, it was all about my dog and the way they had behaved. Anyway, he tried to charge me for keeping my dog for the weekend even though it was like they kidnapped my dog. He said hed spil the 30 dollar fee with me then he was like well well wave it after my sister said I would have picked her up if I would have known I could have. I WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS HOSPITAL!!!

Dr. Post and Dr. Banks have been great with my animals. They have been my vet for years, and have help me with healthy and ill pets. I moved away from Topeka for a while and had great vets, but when I moved back I asked for recommendations and everyone said Dr. Post. So I went back to Aid Animal and have been there every since. For example, On December 24th, 2015 my cat became very ill, it was 10:30 pm and I called the office just to see if the recording said they would be open on the 26th, instead Dr. Post answered (they have the phones transferred home) and after a few minutes of conversation said I shouldnt wait and told me which emergency hospital was open and to keep him informed. This was CHRISTMAS EVE 10:30 pm -for me thats enough said. But this is a review for those looking for a vet so I will add this. They are animal focused and go out of their way to help me provide the best care I can for my pets. They tell me about coupons and where I can buy items for less, what does work and what doesnt. They are up to date in the technology necessary for the animals care, and their surroundings are practical, solid and clean. I feel like my money is going to the health and safety of my animals, rather than frivolous things like waiting room chairs designed for dogs or some such. They are very aware of the cost of caring for pets so I always feel they keep an eye on costs and are very reasonable.

We took our dog to Aid Animal Hospital as a new patient. We found the place lacked cleanliness and professionalism. Our appointment was scheduled at 5:15pm. No one even acknowledged us with a welcome until wed been there about 10 minutes. Our dog did not get seen until after 5:30pm. On the phone we were told the exam would be $25. When we checked out the price was $65 because our dog had to be treated for an infection. The man who treated our dog did not seem knowledgeable in the computer system, (no one gave their names as introduction) as he struggled for several minutes to create our invoice. I have never been to a clinic where I could not be billed for the remainder to be paid later. We were made to feel unimportant, and most of all our dog was not put first. We could not afford the full $65 dollars at that time, therefore we were asked to return our dogs medicine as well as the free flea treatment wed been given. It was embarrassing, (I was in tears when we left), and we felt the best interest of our dog was not considered by this hospital. Sending her away without her medicine when she had a fever and infection was not at all kind. Although, we realize it is a business, we expected a business that put the health of their patients before financial gain. We are not impressed and will not be returning to Aid Animal Hospital.

The prices are yes affordable compared to other people but yes they will not bill later, seems the money is more important and the people are not the most friendly, I did a topical treatment on my 5lb dog and ishe had a bad reaction, I took her in bc a visit is 25$ he said they would have to keep her and the bill would be 300-500$, not being able to afford that he sent me home and told me to ise dawn dish soap to het the greasy residue left on her back and give her water, and he told me hopefully she makes it threw it witch by the grace of god she did and a month later I went back to get a oral flea pill and was telling the lady when she had last been seen and what happen, and what I washing her in dawn dish soap and one of there employees rudly but in and says "thats a lie, the doctor wouldnt ever tell you to use dawn to wash ur dog" ummm excuse me ***** I was so upset Ill consider a diffrent vet! So freaking rude

If I could rate a 0 for first impressions it would be a big 0. I was just on the phone with Aid Animal Hospital and I would not recommend them to anyone. I was greeted rudely on the phone by a woman and asked to hold for a moment. After 10 minutes of listening to her carry on with a personal conversation I hung up and called back. When I did, a man answered and I explained to him what had happened and then politely said that I would not be scheduling an appointment because of the way I was treated. He then replied with "good, Im glad youre not. We dont want to deal with you." then said he was sorry for my interaction earlier but they didnt want to deal with an offended person. Very rude staff there. To those of you who have great experiences with them, I wish I was as lucky as you, but I refused to be treated that way. I hope the vet care is better than the way staff treats people.

Ms Miller all I can do is apologize for the misunderstanding. If you listen to the recorded message on your phone from Saturday, you will hear that afternoon hours were stated clearly. Your interpretation that I was rude was merely my frustration starting a Monday off that way, and seeing your obvious distress. You see I have no control over other peoples conversations of interpretation there of. Out of the literally hundreds of renditions with clients annually on the protocol for releasing pets from single day surgery, Im sorry you had to be the one who had a problem.
