I have a rescued husky who is extremely lovable around people he knows and those around me when he meets someone new. Unfortunately he is very skiddish around new people if he gets loose. One day he got out and when a neighbor was pushing him, to get him out of the street - he bit her, not too bad but she pulled her hand away and made it worse. I had to quarantine him for 10 days because of this. I have a 9 month old, 4 year old and 2 older kids the dog plays with all the time. He is a really good dog but loves the challenge of getting out, tendency I guess of his breed. Canfel Care was the best pricing for Quarantine I found in the Houston area and it seems you get what you pay for there. When we came back to pick him up it looked like he was sitting in his Kennel full of pee for the 10 days he was there. When we got him home I let him in the backyard to go pee before we bathed him and he ran strait to the food bowl and water bowl. So I have no idea how much they even fed him or walked him when he was there. I just couldnt believe it. My dog is kennel trained when it is time to go to sleep, he doesnt even want to get close to his kennel now. The main vet was very nice so I dont know if it was him or just his staff that neglected my dog; but I just wanted to make sure you know what happened to my dog before deciding to go to this place, where you have to leave your pet overnight for a day for few days...

I want to tell you of some great customer service. With my ankle and foot broken, I could not get to Canfel Care Animal Hospital to pick up my rescue dog Big Boys allergy and heartworm meds. I was hoping I would be able to get there before I ran out, but I was over-ambitious in my thinking and I just couldnt do it and I was out of time and meds. I called to see if they could possibly mail it out to me....they put me on hold and came back and the young lady (cant remember her name...blame on pain meds) anyway, she said I live in your area and can drop it off to you. I was floored. Dr. Wainwright and staff have been so invested in helping Big Boy from the start and knew how important his Apoquel is for his allergies, not to mention keeping up with his heartworm treatment. To say this was above and beyond is an understatement. Although they are a ways away (Beltway 8 feeder at West Rd) and at this point I could switch him to our much closer regular vet, I wont. They are not a large, fancy clinic, but I love their kindness and dedication and the excellent, knowledgeable treatment from Dr. Wainwright. So, if you are looking for a reasonably priced vet with a caring/compassionate staff, I wholeheartedly recommend Canfel Care Animal Hospital!

I have taken all of my dogs and my cat here. My children have also taken all 3 of their dogs and their ferret to Canfel as well. I worked at another vet for 11 years. When they closed, I went to straight to Canfel. I also recommended Canfel to all of my clients and friends, most of which still go there (unless moving further out), even though it is sometimes 10-20 miles further from home. Its called trust, compassion, knowledge, empathy and diagnostics. In my opinion, in that order, the 5 things a vet and their staff needs more than anything else. I too, have been coming here over a decade. I drive 15+ miles (on the WRETCHED 290 freeway, during A.M. rush hour to drop off and P.M rush hour to pick up) just to take all of my fur babies here because I LOVE and TRUST Dr. Wainwright, I love and trust the staff, and most of all because I LOVE MY PETS! I have a 17 (seventeen!!) year old Chihuahua, with kidney disease, I still let them put under anesthesia for dental work. THATS TRUST! She is healthy as an ox because I have always complied with all treatments and recommendations by Dr. W! I HIGHLY recommend and urge you to go to Canfel, and recommend everyone you know with a furbaby of any breed or species!

I dont understand the negative reviews. My only guess would be poor follow through or misunderstanding because Dr. Wainwright and staff have been fantastic. Canfel is the clinic for the rescue I work with and I have been so impressed with the work and the care they provide I now bring my personal pets to Canfel. Believe me when I say it is NOT the most convenient clinic to my home but I have complete confidence in the care my furkids receive that it is worth the drive. Dr. Wainwright takes the time to explain the diagnosis and treatment and the reason behind the plan of action. He is always willing to take a different approach if the proposed plan is just not practical. I have witnessed him teach his staff new skills on more than one occasion so they are always learning. I am sorry for those that has a negative experience but, perhaps their experience would have ended badly wherever theyd gone.

I have taken my pets to Dr. Wainwright for years and have always had great service. However, it wasnt until I found a small, white dog and took him to their office when I realized how much they truly care for animals and their well being. This little dog had an unregistered chip and the staff was very diligent in finding out who the original owner was. Paige called the county and was very patient and persistent until the previous owner was located. Paige was able to contact the former owner and was non -judgmental as she was only interested in finding out as much information as she could on the little lost dog. They even boarded the little lost dog for the evening. Dr. Wainwright and his staff are truly compassionate about pets and makes us feel like we are more than just a "client". I highly recommend this office for all your pet needs!

STOP!!! Read this first: my puppy has died bc this clinic did misdiagnosed my baby boy! Here is my experience! I strongly suggest do not take your dog/ cat there, poor care and poor veterinarian. We got a puppy, the next day we took him there for check up and deworming if he has any. Puppy had diarrhea for a few days. The vet said he is fine and gave him some deworming pills and vitamins. Two days later the puppy is throwing up and bad case diarrhea. We rushed into another clinic, the puppy was diagnoses with Parvo, the vet said that he had it for at least 5-6 days. How could they not find that he was sick??!! Also, the deworming did not work, he still has worms, so whatever they give him was crap! Bad vet + bad medicine, = bad clinic!

I had a routine neuter done for my male Pomeranian and needless to say when I picked him up they explain to me all the reasons why he had to have two incisions and how he might not be feeling well for an extended amount of time both my husband and I felt like it was a mistake to come to this clinic. What made it even more strange was a lady on my way out you didnt know I had already had the procedure done told me that I should not come to that clinic that their weekend staff was not very good but from the sound of all these posts and maybe that the clinic needs to be reviewed by a governing power
