I needed an appointment for my guinea pig who had eye issues. I checked several places in the area and they seemed to be around the cheapest and soonest I could get to. I ended up with an appointment the next day for my baby. The vet seemed to know what she was doing and knew about pigs. They also handled my pig very well. In the end they figured out she had got her eye scratched and gave me drops for her. And they also commented on some other stuff that could be potential problems. Like she has the beginning of cataracts (but there isnt much you can do about that) and that I need to consider getting her teeth trimmed (and they gave me an estimate on how much that would be). In the end I have only two complaints. One is no one likes paying bills. Im not sure if the meds are just expinsive or they are getting profit off of it or what but I did feel like it was a lot of money (about 85 dollars in total around 42 for the visit alone then 18 for a eye dye and 25 for her drops). I do know about another place that had about the same visit rate but their pig vet was on vacation. And another one had 66 dollars just to walk in the door because she is exotic. I guess I cant complain to much about it but as a highschool student (soon to enter college) ever dollar counts for me and im quite frugle so I guess you need to consider any vet visit will cost you but remember pets are family even pigs. My other complaint is my appointment was at 3 and I didnt see the doctor until 3:45. That was a lot of waiting for my pig and she wasnt to happy about that. As far as the staff they where wonderful a kind. I will definitely consider going back if my pig has any more problems.

I had just moved to the area when my Beagle injured his leg which he had previously had surgery on. In a panic, I went online to find a vet nearby with good reviews and found the Barker Cypress Animal Clinic. I called right away (in the evening) and they were able to squeeze me in the following day. When I got to the clinic all the staff were so sweet and obviously loved animals. There was a woman with her daughter who brought in a wild bunny they found with a broken back and Dr. Lejeune put the bunny to sleep at no charge. When Austin went into the exam room, the experience was unlike any other vet clinic weve been to-he wasnt nervous! Once the exam was finished, Dr. Lejeune gave Austin a prescription as well as a 10-day trial of a vitamin to help his leg. I went to pay and expected the bill to be somewhat large based on past experiences, but was shocked that the total was even less than the estimated quote over the phone when I made the appointment! To leave a veterinary clinic with my baby still wagging his tail was such a wonderful feeling. Im so glad to have found Dr. Lejeune and staff where I know my dogs are in great hands!

I have been using the FM529 Animal Hospital for the past few years due to convenience. However, I have been dissatisfied with the Veternarian and definitely with their exorbent charges. After reading online the 3 good reports on Barker Cypress Animal Clinic and no negatives, I figured I should give them a try. Barker Cypress Animal Clinic employees are professional and helpful. Jeanne Lejune, DVM truly cares for the animals she treats. I brought both of my dogs to her and they loved her! She was up front with costs, even told me that there was one shot that my dogs did not have to receive if I did not want to spend the extra $$$. Both of my dogs received their annual check up, all shots updated, they both needed Verbantel due to a small case of ring worm and I purchased 1-Years worth of Heartworm medication for both dogs. The bill was $436.00 This would have cost me closer to $600 at my old vets office! If you are in Cypress and looking for a Vet that cares for your Pet as well as provide a reasonable bill, then try Barker Cypress Animal Clinic!

We have been taking our pets to Dr. Lejuene for about three years now. We always had great check-ups. Unfortunately, my 15 year old cat went into kidney failure a couple of weeks ago. Dr. Lejuene treated him with fluids and he had a brief surge and then his quality of life simply declined. I had never had to put a pet under and as a result, was completely heartbroken. Dr. Lejuene and her staff made a very difficult time much easier with the respect and dignity shown for my family and especially my pet. Her staff member, Cruz, was very gentle and loving with Buddy and while giving us all the time we needed, checked on us regularly to make sure we were ok and didnt need anything. While I really miss Buddy, the process for all of us was so smooth. Two days later, we received a beautiful plant from Barker Cypress Animal Clinic expressing their condolences. They have gone above and beyond. Thank you!

5 years ago I was in town visiting my family with a new puppy I had just adopted when he came down with a cough. I found the closest vet that was open on Saturday and they said to get him there as soon as I could. Their staff is great, and Dr. LeJeune is wonderful. To this day I can call and give my pets name and they know who he is and myself/husband as well. We loved them so much I recommended my parents here as well. None of us have even considered going anywhere else even this past weekend when Dr. LeJeune was out of town and my dog came down with pancreatitis. I waited it out 2 days so that he could see her and am glad I decided to wait. I have been going here for the past 5 years and all 4 of my animals (cats and dogs) truly enjoy coming and seeing the staff. It doesnt matter what we come for, I ALWAYS walk out spending less than what I anticipated. Love, love love this place!

My border collie Heidi had a tumor that was blocking a portion of her intestine and she needed surgery immediately. Dr. Lejeune worked Heidi in to her busy schedule to accommodate us. Needless to say the surgery was a success! Dr. Lejeune called me several times herself to keep me posted on Heidi’s recovery. She even mentioned that if she thought Heidi needed it she would take her home and watch her overnight! You will be hard pressed to find a doctor that will do that. Another thing I find to be impressive is that if your pet needs to have anything done she will work up an estimate with a low side and I high side so you can choose what best works for you. She will not charge you unnecessarily. I would recommend Dr. Lejeune to everyone! My entire family takes their dogs to this clinic. We have 10 dogs between us. Even my daughter and she lives in Austin!

DISCLAIMER: This is a review of me trying to set up an appointment. When researching vets, I looked specifically for ones that offered weekend appointments. I contacted this office and began with stating that a Saturday appointment would be the only one I could attend as I work 6:30AM-6:30PM Monday - Friday and there was no way I could do it during those times. They responded that they reserve all Saturday appointments for established clients only and that they can only make one for me 8:30-5 M-F. Total waste of my time. I contacted Fairfield Animal Hospital and explained my situation to them and they set up a Saturday appointment for my cat within the same week I requested. Basically, Im unimpressed with the way Barker Cypress Animal Clinic conducts its business.
