incompetent. absolutely rude. i took my pet in today to get a bath & when i picked her up her eyes are red. i ask why and they tell me its stress. i get into the car & she has blood on her eyelid, the inside of her eye has a popped blood vessel & the side of her gums is also bleeding. and no one has any idea why. i ask to speak to a supervisor "Daphne" who says that it is not her problem. she doesnt know how or why it happened. and that i should take my pet to a different location. seriously? what type of manager is this? how do you run a business like this? I insist on having my pet seen immediately by a physician for the error that they made & even that takes forever. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. MY PET HAS BEEN INJURED. MY OTHER DOG HAS BEEN CUT IN HIS GENITALS TWICE ALREADY & I HAVE YET TO EVEN RECEIVE AN APOLOGY. EVERYONE HERE IS INCOMPETENT, I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE WRONG MEDICATION, BEEN OVER CHARGED, CHARGED TWICE. THEY CANT EVEN KEEP THE RECORDS UP TO DATE TO KNOW WHICH VACCINES ARE NEEDED. HIGHLY UPSET WITH THE STAFF, ESPECIALLY A SO CALLED MANAGER WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THE FACILITY. I WOULD HAVE RATHER HAD THEM CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT THEY COULD NOT HANDLE MY PUP RATHER THAN TO HAVE THEM HURT HER. WHEN TELLING DAPHNE THIS ALL SHE RESPONDED WAS THAT A SERVICE BEING PROVIDED, SO BASICALLY SHE DIDNT WANT TO LOSE $50 DOLLARS, WHICH I WOULD HAVE GLADLY GIVEN TO HER TO NOT SEE MY PUP GO THROUGH WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH. ESPECIALLY AFTER SPECIFICALLY TELLING THE STAFF OVER THE PHONE AND IN PERSON AT DROP OFF THAT MY PUP WAS A RESCUE PUP THAT SHE HAD BEEN SEVERELY ABUSED. AND THEY ALL ASSURED ME SHE WOULD BE OKAY. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE PHYSICIAN EVEN SHE AGREED THAT IT HER EXPERIENCE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TO NEVER HAVE TREATED HER TODAY. SO MY QUESTION IS WHY DID THIS NOT HAPPEN???

Horrible service. I was so disappointed with the service in this clinic. I had made an appointment for my dog for 5:30. When I get there at 5:15 they tell me my appointment was for 5. that is not possible because I get out of work at 4:30 and I would have never made an appointment for 5pm. Then I ask if I can still see the doctor, keep in mind is only 15min. The Lady in the front tells me I will be charged if I stay, even though they have a first visit free. They said that if I came back the next day I could get my first visit free but not that day because we were already halfway through the visit. I have never had a vet visit 30min long. so Im not sure what they were talking about. I politely gave her back the information sheets and walked out. Once out in my car trying to leave there is a car behind me. I hunk my horn and the lady that was coming out of the car made signs with her hands like saying what and then she said very rudely You cant wait? really? they were blocking the whole drive way and there were plenty of parking spots. The lady had a uniform and looked like she worked there. I ended up going to a different Vet West Oaks Animal Hospital and they were wonderful.

We recently adopted a dachschund from the SPCA and unbenownst to us, he had suffered serious injury from being hit by a car. On his first appointment at the VCA, they were so caring and honest about the state of his health. Unfortunately, his injuries had progressed over the course of a few days from the day we brought him home, and when he went in for his routine check-up, we were told his internal injuries and considering the state of his health, that he wouldnt survive surgery. It was still deeply saddening to find out that it was too late to save him. They were so caring and compassionate, and gave us the chance to say good-bye to the sweet puppy that night. A few days later, they sent us a card sending well wishes and prayers. It was such a kind gesture and it really warmed our hearts. Even though we only had him for a few days, they reminded us that our love for the puppy during his last few days was the greatest gift we could have given him. They are great people!! We are grateful for their compassion and consideration

My SO and I have a 6 month english bulldog and we wont take her to anyone else. We did a lot of research on vets in the Alief area and we picked this one because it had awesome reviews and it definitely doesnt look shady on the outside like the rest of the area has gotten! Of course, I know they probably cater a lot to the Energy Corridor pet owners Im sure. I feel very safe bringing my dog here. The staff is EXCELLENT. They are very friendly and they know us by car now! Dr. T is our vet and I just love her, my SO loves her and our pup loves her. She explains everything very eloquently and the techs on staff are a pleasure to deal with. No one has ever been rude and they dont dance around any issues, they cut right to the chase. I believe in having a vet that is going to treat your pet as if they are the #1 priority and I can say without a doubt, VCA Ashford most definitely does that.

My elderly beagle had dental surgery last week. I took him in this morning for an antibiotic shot, since he has fought and refused his antibiotics since we got home. (He takes all other meds fine. He just refuses any attempt at antibiotics). Since he was there, Dr Slomer wanted to look to see if he was healing alright. She had Eric come hold my dog while she examined him. My dog knows Eric from outside the facility. That can be good or bad. Just like little kids, dogs can fight more with someone they know. Eric petted my dog and got happy tail wags. Then he held firm as Dr Slomer checked him out. My dog even yelped once (He had mouth surgery. Id yelp too if someone tried to look in my mouth after that.) Eric never flinched, and had a good firm hold. I jumped, and Dr Slomer pulled back quickly so as not to hurt him, but Eric never let go. Thanks for keeping my fur baby safe!

The day after my boyfriend and I moved to Houston, our dog jumped into the Bayou and immediately became sick. Neither of us are from Houston, so we had no idea where to take her. A friend recommended the VCA Ashford, so we took her there even though it is over 30 minutes away from where we live. From that moment on, we have never taken our pets anywhere else. Dr. Sally and her team are incredibly kind and professional. They have taken the time to really get to know our pets and have gone above and beyond to ensure our pets health and safety. Dr. Sally knows each of her patients and remembers the smallest details! This is the best veterinarian I have ever gone to. I am so grateful for Dr. Sally and her team!

Very patient and helpful staff! They were able to answer all of my concerns. I got a free-first exam with my initial visit. I didnt have a coupon printed (was at work), but they said that they would do it automatically for me when I scheduled my appointment and was on time. Ive never seen a clinic be so empathetic when someone has lost their pet. It shows that they care about your pet just as much as when theyre passing, as they do when theyre alive and well. You can really see that these vets love what they do, and that they love their patients! I will definitely be bringing my cats back to see them! Thank you Dr. Albers!
