Not near our homes, but this staff is worth the drive! (We had a bad experience at a different facility which was convenient for all of us, but my parent was treated really poorly there). Franciscan has been a godsend for my Dad over the last 6 months. His medical situation has declined and he has been in both the rehab and long-term care wings. The Rehab wing has the best, most dedicated nurses in the city. The facility Doctor has been engaged and thoughtful in his assessment and treatment of my Dad. He has listened to both of my parents and me, answered multiple questions, recommended a 2nd opinion (from a different specialist than we had seen) and has been available every time we needed him. The Business Office staff and Social Workers have been exceptionally helpful to my Mom and I, explaining how the facility bills, how our Long Term Care insurance works, etc. The Food and Laundry services have been great, too. Hot food, good selection of menu items... The laundry is next-day service. Parts of the facility are older, but they are not bad. This is my familys 3rd nursing home experience, so we have a basis of comparison. I recommend Franciscan to anyone searching for their parents care!

Depends on shift of nurses. THE third shirt was great. Day shift aides on my side were hard workers. Need better scheduling for physical therapy. Its hard to sleep but room worse by where ambulance come in. Administrator left so pray they get a new one. Food was good when certain cooks were on. But others need to hit McDonald. I was there to rehab. Hanna full of energy always smiling, Jana was there one Day Mark was off. She helped a lot. Love to throw u on bike 25 min. Social services didnt follow up with care tenders so that was not good situation. No where is perfect. I was tired for lack of sleep. No job is easy but first day Jerry Springer broke out in room. Too many chiefs never enough indians. I know p/t was working hard but we are all humans. I watched some give true words on how life will be. He was great. My Lady with o/t was good but felt 1 lb was not enough as I wanted to be pushed. I chose this for close to home. Sometimes doesnt matter.

Id recommend going somewhere else. This place is expensive and designed like a cheap hotel. The equipment and furniture is old. The night shift is either severely understaffed or just apathetic. My family members bathroom had a clogged toilet and sink. We had to remind them to stop doing things that were specifically against his care plan. Not to mention the incredibly terrible safety issues, particularly at night. Save yourself time and heartache by avoiding this place.

Misleading to have a facility be named Franciscan when its not owned by the Franciscan owners in Chicago . Keeping a name due to its connect ability is wrong and morally misleading. I can say the Franciscan model of patient centered care does not match the one of this current facility .
