Our dog ingested a toxic level of dark chocolate. We called the Yarmouth vet because they are located right down the street. (I am visiting my family in Yarmouth, I do not live here.) We called at 5:00 and they close at 6:00. My family has used this vet for over 10 years, for both dogs and cats. Despite the emergency, they refused to see our dog (citing lack of available doctors), and suggested we take him to the emergency clinic in either Portland or Scarborough. By comparison, the vet in Cumberland made the appropriate scheduling accommodations and asked us to bring our dog right over.
