After two visits it was EASILY decided that we would NO longer be using Dr Silvers services. At our first visit, Dr Silvers staff failed to put together a complete chart with labs from previous vet, etc for my 12 year old dog with renal failure. At our second visit Dr Silver repeatedly asked me to remember lab values from previous labs because the info was missing. He was attacking in his approach and so I offered to fax him the info as soon as I got home. He then blindly ordered tests without explaining their purpose or their costs to me. I tried to explain that I was not happy with the lack of information in the chart. I also said that I would like to know the purpose of the tests ordered. Before I could complete my questions or state my concerns, Dr Silver threatened to not send off the blood work and said I should go elsewhere for vet care. A vet that is willing to put a pets health in jeopardy because a pet owner is unhappy with a mistake made by his staff and trying to ask questions about ordered tests is unprofessional and unethical. Every pet owner has the right to ask questions about their pets health and treatment. Dr Silver is not approachable and refuses to address mistakes he or his staff makes. A doctor not willing to admit mistakes, is quick to terminate a relationship with his patients, and doesnt make time to answer questions is the description of an unprofessional and unethical vet. It is also the way I define Dr Silvers care.

Dr. Silver can be a little abrupt at times--although he is always willing to answer all of my questions and makes what I consider excellent decisions. He also offers options when they are needed. He remembers my cats history. Bottom line, Dr. Silver gives good care to my cats, and that is what I care about. Plus his wife, Amy, the office manager, and his receptionist, Shannon, make the place feel like home and they know me every time I call. Amy was particularly helpful when I was deciding when to put down my beloved cat, Babe. Not yet, she said--and she was right.

I travel from New Mexico, where I moved 2 years ago from Maryland, with our beagle who is 13 and has been taken care of by Dr Silver for over 10 years. I have received nothing but quality and responsive care from DrSilver and his staff. His wife Amy, has always made herself available to answer any follow up questions. Dr.Silver is straightforward and no nonsense. I will continue to ravel from NM to MD to have our beagle taken care of by DrSilver. I trust him.

Originally came to Dr Silvers practice because there is a groomer onsite, and a 7yo coonhound with a past of abuse neglect can be difficult to handle without a sedative. He leaves the groomer in full show diva mode -- "Look how handsome I am!" -- every time. Vet care is no different, all of the staff helps Chuck feel safe during visits; and weve had no reservations about Dr Silvers treatment.

The Silvers are very interested in YOUR pet. They give personalized advice and care to each pet. They offer suggestions and are very honest about what shots and meds, etc that are appropriate and necessary for your cat or dog. Their office hours are excellent for those of us with regular jobs who need to bring pets in after work or on the weekends.

This is a very well-run vet practice. I switched to Chevy Chase Vet after not being able to get my cat in for an emergency visit at our regular vet, and I have not looked back! The staff is terrific, Dr. Silver is very knowledgeable and I have always been able to get an appointment even for emergency issues. I highly recommend this practice.

I called being interested in coming it for my dogs annual since Im new to the area. Twice when I called, both receptionists, male and female, were so extremly rude and unpleasent that I would NEVER even consider coming in to meet the staff. I bet Im not the first customer theyve scared off.
