I have dealt with this place for years. They have a pleasant staff. I would definitely shop around before going here though. They push so many shots, pills, etc.. I needed a flu shot and then a booster shot....etc... I read up on this and found out that a lot of what Vets recommend are really not that necessary. They certainly add to their bottom line. (Google independent Vets vs. Corporate Vets.). My dog required surgery. The first quote was $800-$1100. It ended up costing me almost $1700. There were some circumstances that may have caused the cost to go up but not by that much. Then I went in for a "complimentary" follow up. The Vet said he should receive an antibiotic shot because his scab may get infected. It actually looked fine. She never explained the cost... It was $200! They then told me I could file for a rebate for $30. I feel I have been blind sided with all these extra costs. I will not return and would not recommend them unless you want to shell out a lot of extra money for your pet.

I found this vet when we needed a second opinion for our cat that had severe back pain. Dr. Ward was phenomenal! She took a LOT of time to listen to my concerns, review the previous vets records, and did a very thorough physical exam. That was 2 years ago. Unfortunately, that cat has passed away, but the care our pet received and the personal support from Dr. Ward was so wonderful that we made West Friendship Animal Clinic our permanent vet for our 2 newest furry friends. There is NOTHING about this vet clinic I would change. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They always make time for emergencies. I feel comfortable calling for advice and have never been disappointed with the answers I get. The place is always immaculate and I have never walked into the office or exam room and been overwhelmed with the typical stinky vet smell most places have. No question, this is the best vet clinic I have taken my animals to (and I been to many).

Dr Ward has been the Veteriarian for my pets for many years. My dogs have lived to be 17, 16, 14 and the last (due to my age) is 14 years old. Dr Ward is very knowledgeable, friendly, doesnt rush you and treats your pets as if they were her own. She used to work at the Eastern Animal Hospital. After she left for the new location; Eastern Animal Hospital did not inform her patients owners of her new location. Intentionally done, I believe. She is highly recommended! I love her!!!

We transfered our animals care to West Friendship after our local vet became too busy. I wish we had done this sooner. We have been using them for about a year and couldnt be happier. They are caring and concerned. I feel they are reasonably priced. My 2 dogs and cat couldnt be more loved when they are seen.
