Our family has been going to Padonia Veterinary Hospital for probably over 30 years and I have always felt this practice has utmost compassion, concern and respect for the animals they treat and their families. Dr. Youssef, Dr. Anis and the staff are not only extremely skilled at veterinary medicine, but they are dedicated to offering care that is empathetic, gentle and kind. The practice offers the technology and services of a state-of-the-art facility while maintaining the warmth of a small old-fashioned office. I recently brought our very sick 14-year-old westie, Baxter, in late on a Friday afternoon. After examining Baxter, Dr. Youssef found that Baxter’s kidneys were gravely compromised. With immediate surgery, the condition could hopefully be reversed. Dr. Youssef gave a thorough explanation of the situation and we discussed several options and potential outcomes. Doctor and staff stayed late into the evening to perform emergency surgery. I can’t remember Dr. Youssef’s exact words, but when I left Baxter for surgery, he wanted to assure me that by leaving him in his hands he understood that I was trusting him with the care of a precious part our family and that he assumed the responsibility to do everything he could for Baxter to the best of his ability as if Baxter were his own family. And it was apparent that he really meant it. After a painstaking and exhaustive surgery with a 50/50 chance of survival, Baxter is recovering remarkably. He has even started running up the flight of stairs, something he hasn’t done in years. And we are very grateful to Dr. Youssef, Dr. Anis and the staff for their compassionate care of Baxter during surgery and recovery. The cost of surgery was quite reasonable, but an unexpected expense and it was made clear that did not need to be a deciding factor and that the practice was more than willing to make flexible payment arrangements. It is very apparent that this is not just a profession for Drs. Youssef and Anis, but they have dedicated their lives to the welfare of animals and their families.

Only take your pet here if you dont care whether they live or die. I took my 9yo cat in last summer because for about a week he had been eating much less. One of the new doctors told me his "decreased appetite" was a good thing because he was too fat (at 15lbs and a large breed). He even said he should go on a diet and prescribed him an expensive diet food that they just happened to have available for purchase in house. I got a second opinion at Hillendale Animal Hospital because I was worried. The Hillendale vet said not eating was NOT normal, and prescribed him an appetite stimulant and a weak antibiotic, wanting to rule out the most likely - inflammatory bowel disease or parasites. Over the next few weeks we were in and out of the office a few times and he only got worse, getting to the point where I had to force-feed him baby food with a syringe. Urine and fecal tests came back with nothing, so they ordered an xray/ultrasound. Turned out the poor guy had a mass in his spleen. We had the spleen removed at a surgery center and it was cancerous. They gave him 3 months to live because of the kind of cancer, but its been a year and hes still kicking. Long story short, we went to Padonia because of Dr. Shortall, but the vet who replaced him after he retired is absolutely useless and Im frankly not sure how he even has a license. Really, how could you think not eating was a good thing?

Our little girl Brownie (we suspect) had fallen and busted her own face on the ground, breaking her front-right canine and giving herself a rather nasty little infection. We caught it pretty early, and gave Padonia Vet Hospital a call that morning. The receptionist was super pleasant, and even though she mentioned they had a super tight schedule, she was able to squeeze us in that same afternoon! When we arrived, we were at least 30 minutes early, but the Veterinary and the Vet Tech were ready for us almost as soon as we walked through the front door. The doctor was very attentive, and listened to every word my partner and I had to say, and was very sweet and gentle with our cat. The doctor knew exactly what to do, and was very informative! We were given a little antibiotic, and scheduled dental surgery. She was put under anesthesia, and was taken care of within an hour of me dropping her off! The Vet Tech/Receptionist gave me not one, but two follow-up calls! One to let us know her surgery was all done and she was safely resting, and another the day after we picked her up and took her home! AMAZING SERVICE! Also, I think its worth mentioning it didnt break the bank like most vet trips seem to do! I want to stress how friendly and professional the staff are, and I feel so much safer knowing I have a reliable doctor within a few miles that I can take our little girl to see. 5/5 Stars!!

My wife and I started taking our dog and cat to Padonia Vet Hospital a year and a half ago, and we are very happy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they have squeezed us in when needed, and they really helped improve the health of our dog. Six months ago We were worried we may have to put him down, but after some through tests and trying a different medicine, our dog is in great shape. On top of all of this, their rates are the best Ive found in the area. I used to pay MUCH more at another vet in this area. I highly recommend Padonia Veterinary Hospital!!

Both the Dr and Staff at Padonia Vetinary hospital are the kindest, knowledgeable, compassionate, and willing office I have ever experienced. Dr. Youseff was so gentle and kind to not only my 2 pound chihuahua, but to me, a worried pet owner, as well. Taking the time to explain everything, and answer all of my questions Dr. Youseff and the staff made me feel completely comfortable and at ease after a HORRIBLE experience at another vetinary office in Owings Mills. I cannot thank the Dr and his team enough!

Padonia Veterinary Hospital staff are truly amazing people. I brought our cat Leo who developed bladder stones less than a year old. He was cared for for five days and unfortunately passed away. However, the staff kept us informed through the whole process and did everything in there power to save him. They are reasonable prices and would give them a 5 stars review to anyone who has pets.

I came here today via recommendation from a friend. My dog was having seizures and our regular vet wouldnt see us and told us to go to the pet er. Im so glad I listened to my friend, Dr. Youssef is so kind and compassionate as well as his whole staff. They have gained a new patient today and I will always recommend them to anyone who asks. Thank you for taking care of my Layla.

This place is amazing! They treated my 3 year old sick cat and he has no problem with staying here for 3 days! I felt very comfortable with keeping him there for some time. Also, the staff is great and are very very polite. The doctors treated my baby well, and are very caring. Thank you, Padonia Animal Hospital staff!!
