When I moved to the Eastern shore from the Annapolis area eight years ago, I will admit, I was afraid it might be difficult to find a veterinarian that could provide the level of care for my pets Id grown accustomed to. Im happy to say that I could not have been more mistaken. The veterinarians at Community Animal Hospital offer a truly outstanding level of care, knowledge, skills, and empathy. They have saved several of my dogs lives with early diagnosis and effective treatment of medical problems, and by going above and beyond the call of duty by providing after-hours care for my dogs. And dont even get me started on the fact that they have a doctor on call at all times! I have called on a Sunday after my dog ate something questionable and was talking to one of their reassuring veterinarians within five minutes. Amazing. I mean, who does that these days? Community Animal Hospital, thats who. I happily drive half an hour out of my way to take my pups here; they are absolutely worth the trip. If you are looking for an animal hospital that offers superior, modern care and old-fashioned warmth and caring, this is the place for you. (I hope they like me, too, because they are good and stuck with me as a client, heh!) 8/5/15 Update: I wrote this review three years ago and I feel the same way about Community Animal Hospital now. Since writing this review, the wonderful CAH vets have continued to guide and nurse my pups through cancer, kidney disease, knee surgery, allergies, and (thankfully) wellness with compassion and skill. Id also like to add that as a doting and devoted dog-mom, I really love how the techs treat my "kids". Theyre always happy to see them, eager to greet and pet them, and restrain them gently and safely for necessary treatments and tests, etc. You can always count on a friendly greeting from the front desk, too. Just all around, a great team.

This hospital by far has the very best staff, experienced, caring doctors that we have ever taken our animals to. We have 3 cats , 1 dog and 6 pet rats. It was hard for us to find an experienced doctor that was knowledgeable about rats. We hit the jackpot. We came across Dr. MICHAEL OWENS who specializes in small pets. We love our rats. They are great pets but frequently have issues with tumors and a number of other issues. We have taken them to our regular vet but she she had little experience with rats and the other vet we took them to treated them like they had the plague. We had to take one to an emergency hospital for respiratory issues and end up paying over 1000 just to end up having her put to sleep. Not the Community animal Hospital of Easton. They have on call doctors who got out of bed twice at 4 a.m. to stop one of my rats bleeding from ripping out stitches. Twice. The amazing part of it was that we were charged only 150.00. Dr. Owens and the other Doctors treated our rats with love, respect and care that any animal owner wants their pets to have. Never did they make us feel like " they are just rats". Their prices are beyond reasonable which is rare for veterinary care. . If you love your pets, take them to this hospital. I guarantee that youll never want to go anywhere else.

This, I believe, is the second review Ive posted. I lost Fred last Thanksgiving and Chad and the folks at Community were just great. This week Harley had to have surgery, actually three procedures, all done at the same time. Chad, again was doing all three and the folks at Community had given me a low and high price range depending on how things went. At 1PM Chad called to say that everything had gone smoothly but because Harley was so groggy he really wanted to keep her overnight to make sure she went through recovery okay. Oh oh, there goes the budget, but when its your constant companion you know youll find a way. So this morning I go to pick her up and ask what the damage is --- and they all most had to get a chair for me, it was less than the LOW estimate Id been quoted! The owners, Joe & Donna, have put together not only a successful business plan but theyve managed to combine it with some of the finest vets Ive ever run across at the most reasonable prices Ive ever seen. A final word about service. When your dog is sick at 1AM the last thing you want to hear is "our normal business hours are.....". Not at Community Animal Hospital. No matter what time, day, night or holiday, if its an emergency someone will be available for you.

I have been going to Community Animal Hospital for at least 13 yrs. It started as an emergency visit for my yellow lab, Ranger, and I never stopped. He got the best care in his later years. After he passed away, years later, I brought in Tucker. He came a a 2 month old lab pup and grew into a gentle giant of 142 lbs at 11 years. At some point every vet took care of him. He developed health problems in later years. If I was concerned, I called. And believed me, I called a lot. I always got answers or sometimes he needed a visit. Many times I felt like a pest, but everyone from the vets, techs and the girls at the desk were kind and considerate. Over time they all became my friends. When Tuck died, the hugs and tears got me thru. Now my new lab puppy, Beau, is coming here and I have confidence he will get the same care as the 2 before him received. Thanks CAH. I appreciate all you have done for us. And thank you Dr. Chad and Dr. Joe for all you did for Tucker. It will never be forgotten. And thank you to the girls out front, for putting up with my many calls.

My two dogs have been cared for by the wonderful vets at Community Animal Hospital since they were 3 months old. They are now 11, so I have worked with these vets for quite awhile. In my experience each one of the doctors is kind, gentle and very competent. One of my dogs has Addisons Disease and is hypothyroid: she gets an injection monthly and takes medication daily. She is being well taken care of, and the clinic --including the friendly, helpful women on the front desk-- is very responsive whenever I have a concern about the dog. The other dog, sister of the first one described, is currently having severe difficulty with her hind legs supporting her. I feel like the vet working with her considers my observations and suggestions about her and her treatment fully. We are a team working to help this dog regain the use of her hind legs. I would rate this practice an A+

We have been with Community Animal Hospital since our arrival on the Eastern Shore eleven years ago and could not be more pleased with the care and attention which the staff has consistently rendered to our three (at one time four) Pointers. In particular, Dr. Donna Nizolek has been absolutely superb in attending to the needs of our "family members" and has been incredibly conscientious and concerned with the health and well-being of each of them. Her follow-up on the specific and on-going needs of our pets is unique as far as were concerned. Her professionalism and compassion in dealing with owners is exemplary and much appreciated. The staff is also to be commended on their attentiveness, thoroughness and conscientiousness. We cannot imagine having a better veterinary relationship than we have with Community Animal Hospital.
