It has taken me a few months to decide to write this review. I have never left a bad review for any business, but I feel I need to share my experience with those considering boarding here. I made reservations at Greenbriar for my boxer over Thanksgiving because my sister was visiting with her elderly dog who just had surgery. My dog spent two nights. I had requested a bath and nail trim. I paid for a standard deluxe with indoor/outdoor access, and then extra for walks and peanut butter kongs. I also paid for the bath because he was there two, not three nights. I was remiss in not touring the room where my dog would be kenneled, but impressed with front entrance and felt he was in good hands. When I picked up my dog (1:30pm) I was shocked to see how much weight he had lost. (I understand kenneling an be stressful and sometimes dogs will not eat) When I got him in the car I noticed how bad he smelled. It was my first chance to really look him over because of how hectic it was inside. Besides being so skinny, he was damp, and all four of his white "socks" paws were completely yellowed, his nails had not been trimmed and were caked with feces. His nose was extremely dry and he was not healthy looking at all. I brought him back inside to show his condition to the receptionist. A kennel tech came out and was extremely apologetic. She then found a manager who barely acknowledged me or the dog, but briskly took him back for another bath and nail trim. While I was waiting for my dog to be cleaned up I asked to see where he had been sleeping. There was a lot of hesitation...First I was shown the largest kennel there. It was clean and huge, and I knew this was not where my dog had been. I showed her my receipt..."standard deluxe"...and asked to please see his particular room. I was told I could not see it because another dog was already in it. What? He had barely made it to the car. So I insisted to at least see the general area where he was, and the same size room. I was shocked at how many dogs were stacked on top of each other. ( I would guess there was 200 dogs there, and not enough staff to care for them.) The facility was filthy. Almost all the dogs cages had feces in them. Not one one the indoor outdoor runs had its door open...on either side of the building. I looked to see if this was because some outdoor cleaning might have been taking place, but this was not the case. The area my dog spent most of his time was not 3X12 as described, but tiny with the outside access cut off. Also, another dog would have been on top of his cage. Not once did the manager apologize, seem concerned, offer to take off the extra charge for bathing, or make any gesture to acknowledge any negligence. He also was quite rude when I asked to have the harness he came in with returned to me. He insisted they do not take leashes or collars (he had forgotten how quickly he whisked him out of the lobby for his clean up..and that the dog was wearing his own harness). I have had a few discussions with people (my vets office, my dog trainer, another kennel) about Greenbriar and I have learned that I am not the only one to have had a dog leave there filthy and unattended too. I am an easy going, non complaining sort of person, but I love my dog so much that I thought it important that others researching places to board there dog have the opportunity to hear my story BEFORE making a decision.

The past year has been tough on our dog Gunny. Last year he tore his cranial cruciate ligament on his left knee, and just last week, he tore his other cruciate in the opposite hind leg. Cruciate ligament tears on the opposite leg are highly expected and very unfortunate. Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital came highly recommended from my primary veterinarian which is over an hour drive each way from my home, due to the advanced care they provide. Upon meeting with Doctor Hooman Pooya, Director Jessica Finnegan, Nicole, Margaret, and the rest of the staff, I knew that this was the place to get Gunnys health back to 100%. Greenbriar Veterinary hospital has gone above and beyond with the care of both of my dogs over the past year. They have great services available, including grooming, training, and day care. We have utilized the boarding while away on personal or business trips. The staff is very knowledgeable and will make sure that they answer all of your questions. If they dont know something, they dont ignore you, they find you an answer. Having a sick or injured pet is a horrible feeling, but Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital is the first place I turn to now not just for his surgical needs, but as well as regular check ups and boarding. They treat all the pets they see there as if they were their own. I truly would not know where to go if it wasnt for Greenbrier. A few weeks ago I had to take a leave of absence from my primary job due to military orders, which caused a major financial deficiency. This is the worst time to have to worry about his surgical bill, but Greenbriar has been nothing but extremely supportive of my situation and provided me different financial resources to help me be a responsible pet owner and take care of his surgery. Words cant express the gratitude I have for the care my dogs have received from all off the staff of Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital & Luxury Pet Resort. Thank you sooooo much, Marco, Luciana, Gunny, and Hazel.

The facility is miss leading. They all seem friendly, it is clean, but it is not what you think. My 3yr old dog had severe neck pain to which Dr. Wood, the owner, did an incomplete physical while I was in the room. When I mentioned her large pupils he did not seem concerned or check out her eyes. He sent me home with pain meds. My dog got worse that night and next day, to having bulging eyes on Monday. No reply to my phone call until 5pm Tue.. I did not know what bulging eyes indicated but he said nothing and just offered that because she was a bit more active that I did not need muscle relaxers.. Still crying in pain, even while she was sleeping. I called Thur 7.45AM. and was treated without compassion or help from anyone at the front desk. I was hung up on, nor my request to when the Drs come in and I might receive a call back given, nor offer to fit my dog in. It was Terrible. I immediately asked for release of my records and x ray, which they did not forward until late in the day. So it forced me to pay for x rays again. at Animal House Vet Clinic on Largo Drive, Nashville that morning, we were welcomed with open arms and compassion, The same time, I received the message from Dr. Wood stating he would prefer I did not see him. Animal House did a thorough physical, x rays and bloodwork. My dog was 100% blind before I left there, but due to their excellent diagnosis and treatment, my dogs vision recovered three days later. She is now on the road to a full recovery. Had I stayed with Dr. Wood At Greenbriar Animal clinic, I would have lost my precious girl. And it is ONLY because Dr. Woods unavailability, lack of compassion and lack of skill, that my little girl had to suffer unnecessarily through so many days of severe pain and loss of vision, if not complications for her future. Shameful.. Dont be fooled.
