I came to this vet Hospital after my puppy had been bitten by my other dog. The vet didnt seem too concerned with the puppys condition, but continued to ask question after question about my other dog. The vet wanted too see the medical records of the attacker, and went so far as to suggest that I hadnt had my other dog vaccinated for rabies. Then when he finally took a look at my puppy, he treated him as if he was an aggressive, psychotic dog. His assistants wore thick gloves and rough handled the puppy. Instead of using a puppy voice, as Ive seen other vets do to comfort him, the vet made loud noises and shouted several times throughout the visit. My puppy lashed out at the vet after being treated in this manner, so the vet forced a muzzle on him. I have never seen my puppy treated this way and I can say without a doubt that the vet and his assistants caused him to act aggressively. I worry that my puppy will fear all vets now as a result. We will stear clear of this vet clinic and instead use telegraph road.

Doctor Holden and his staff are wonderful. Our experience has always been a positive one. Gloves and a muzzle are sometimes used depending on the circumstances but always with care. Ive been to another vet. Although, I wish we went to Dr. Holden initially because that facility could not hold a candle to Severn Square Veterinary Hospital. You will leave with more knowledge about caring for your pet than you came into the Severn Square Veterinary Hospital. Time is taken to listen to your concerns and questions are asked to address your pets issue(s). If you want quality care for your pet in a professional environment with friendly people, then you owe it to yourself and definitely your "baby" go to Severn Square Veterinary Hospital.

Its prejudice! As a VET, you should care for ALL breeds! They wouldnt provide me an appointment for a 6 month old puppy Pit Bull. And my puppy happened to hurt herself on the pet gate and was limping. (My regular vet was booked so was looking for another to see her since emergency service prices are outrageous). As soon as they heard it was a pit bull, they said they dont see pit bulls there and wouldnt make an appointment. At least they were nice enough to provide a vets number that did see Pit Bulls, but still a VET should never be prejudice to a breed. Its just plain wrong. Ill never take any of my animals to this vet just for this reason.

Ive been taking my animals here for nearly ten years and love it. I recently got a puppy as a gift and was required to have his first appointment in a different Vet but immediately took him and my other dog back to Dr. Holden. His prices are market fair, hes well mannered and listens, and he doesnt lecture about his own beliefs towards raising animals if they differ from your own. Ive taken sick cats, hurt strays, and my own dogs there and would take them no where else. His staff is also excellent and very patient and understanding which is terrific when you have a chatty breed like siberian huskies.

A very big thank you to the man who answered the phone this morning and talked me through giving my sick cat compressions for over twenty minutes. I initially called to get an emergency appointment and during the phone call my cats condition worsened and I had no way to reach the office, he was able to advise me on how to give her compressions over the phone and afterwards was very kind about the situation. Thank you so much!

DR HOLDEN IS THE BEST DAMN VET AROUND , YOUR DOG IS JUST SHOWING ANXIETY AND AGGRESSION DONT BLAME A VET FOR YOUR LACK OF TRAINING. THE THICK GLOVES ARE PROTECTIVE AND SHOULD BE WORN. FURTHER MORE, NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER SEEN DR HOLDEN OR HIS ASSISTANTS MISTREAT ANY DOG. YOUR EXPERIENCE COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED WITH AT HOME TRAINING AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL WITH YOUR DOG HAVE A GREAT DAY

Dr. Holden is very caring and compassionate. His staff is wonderful! This is the best vet clinic I have ever been to. Dr. Holdens approach to each patient is meticulous and his concern for animal welfare is fantastic. Thank you Dr. Holden and the staff!!
