I am writing this review because I want to express how pleased I was to have finally found a veterinarian who was truly passionate about his love for animals and about keeping them healthy and happy. As a “Pet Mom,” I, like so many other pet parents, want the best for my pet family members. I found the Upper Marlboro Veterinary Hospital through a Google search. When I first called there, Dr. Mesfin Wodajo answered the phone. I was surprised to get a doctor and not a staff member. Dr. Wodajo explained that his practice was new and that it had not opened yet. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to establish a rapport with Dr. Wodajo through numerous conversations before he actually opened his business. Dr. Wodajo took the time, each time I called, to speak with me and to answer the many questions that I had. I was quite impressed with his knowledge, credentials and the patience he displayed to address my many concerns. When his practice finally opened, the Grand Opening was on October 17, 2015. He had good food, music, people, games, give-aways and raffles. In addition, he had tours of the hospital facilities. It is a large modern facility with ample parking. The waiting room is spacious with a children’s corner to keep them busy during their pets’ office visits. It has a pharmacy with medicine and special food items, state-of-the-art x-ray and surgical equipment, boarding facilities, and a huge grassy lot for the pets to run and play. They offer grooming, dental, insurance and other services, as well. The Grand Opening offered an insight to the hospital and staff. Everyone was so welcoming and nice. Dr. Wodajo, who is best known as Dr. Mesfin, introduced his wife, twin daughters, staff, family, friends and colleagues. Dr. Wodajo’s sincere affection and love for animals of all types and sizes was evident. The atmosphere was full of joy and fun. Dr. Wodajo and his staff shared that experience with their own pet family members. Other people stopped by with their pet family members too. I enjoyed meeting the young lady who brought her pet snake. So many people were there who supported Dr. Wodajo, which speaks volumes about his character and profession. His colleagues were there, even though many of them were his competitors. Dr. Wodajo and his colleagues were available and took the time to answer any questions and to discuss any concerns that the visiting pet parents had. I, too, was able to speak with many of the attendees. Everyone seemed equally as impressed as I was and Dr. Wodajo’s colleagues appeared genuinely sincere about their support for and their wish for Dr. Wodajo’s success. Therefore, it is without question that I highly recommend Dr. Wodajo and his staff to help everybody to keep their pets’ healthy and happy. Please stop by and check them out. I am glad that I did.

We just took our older cat to our new local veterinarian at the Upper Marlboro Veterinary Hospital! We used to go to VCA Squire and since they left we have been flip-flopping around to different vets. Upper Marlboro Veterinary Hospital is where the VCA Squire used to be, they are not under the same management although they are in the same building. The facility was easy to get to and very clean. The veterinarian, Dr. Mesfin, spent lots of time with us and answered all of our questions that we had since our cat is getting older. He suggested medications and special food that he thought would be good for her and he even had the medications and food there so we didnt have to go elsewhere to get them. He also got us up to date on all of her vaccines as well. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and overall this was a great experience. We will be coming here in the future!

I highly recommend this veterinarian hospital the priceing is the most reasonable in the area, the staff is wonderful & truely caring about the pets, and I can not say enough about Dr. Mesfin he is a very caring about his clients and their pets, he talks to you and explains your options & the steps that need to be taken to ensure the best treatment and safety for your pet. Dr. Mesfin has seen all three of my dogs and one had to have surgery Dr. Mesfin and the staff took great care of my pet and Im glad to say she has recovered fully and without them she would not still be with me. Again I highly recommend this Veterinarian Hospital !!! If you are in need of a Veterinarian please see Dr. Mesfin.

I pass Upper Marlboro Marlboro Veterinary Hospital quite often as I live in the neighborhood, but never had to take my sweet cat there until recently. I noticed my cat stopped eating and was very lethargic. I had to get her to a vet as soon as possible and was able to get an appointment right away. I was so pleased with my first visit. Besides the convenience and the very clean facility, the staff took great care of my cat. They explained everything they were going to do throughout my cats exam. We received excellent customer service and I could tell they genuinely cared about my cats health. We will definitely be back.

Today I took my cat in for a much needed check up and shots. She is not use to many people around her, which is why I hesitated on taking her to a Vet. I am excited to say that the visit went extremely smooth, and no stress on either of us, thanks to Dr. Mesfin and his staff. The treatment received today was outstanding.......I will not hesitate to visit Upper Marlboro Veterinary Hospital in the future as needed:) I would also highly recommend this clinic to everyone! Your pet will be in the best of hands.

My poor cat has a UTI so I rushed her to this hospital. They saw me immediately on a Saturday afternoon. The doctor and associates are friendly and warm. They handled my cat wonderfully (weve had a poor handling experience at another vet that I had to report); they collected a lot of information from my cat as well. The "other vet" was never able to even get her temperature. This facility is clean and inviting. Either way, I had a flawless experience, and Ive found my new vet.

Upper Marlboro Veterinary Hospital has always been a pleasant and a warm clinic from the moment you walk through the door and youre greeted. They are very attentive from the small to the large which includes my doberman pinschers and especially my European doberman Amber whom is 140lbs. They have even been very helpful in finding outside resources when necessary. I wouldnt trust my babies with anyone else but Upper Marlboro Veterinary Hospital.

The team was really good about following up on previous treatments (tests) from other clinics, gave estimates prior to performing different procedures, gave explainations on why certain procedures are required as well as showing us visually the reasoning behind performing certain procedures. The staff was really friendly and welcoming (both our pet and to us), will be seeing them as our new Veterinarian for our family pet.
