Fantastic. I cant say enough good things about this place. They go above and beyond and really care about your animals (sometimes referred to them as "my babies") :) Very true!! Basically I have been going to Abington Animal Hospital for 25+ years and have had every pet with them. Dr. Curtain was amazing, especially during the hard times, and came to our home to euthanize our dog when it was her time and she was in a comfortable, safe, stress free environment for her final moments. They have also been great about referring to specialty vets, making last minute appointments and prescriptions, etc. Yes, sometimes wait will be a little long and hold times as well; it is a busy practice with life long patients and devoted folks who continue to bring their animals there as life progresses and animals need support. I have also never had an issue with the front desk staff and have found them helpful and for the most part, really nice. Yes its true that they will not knock you over with white glove customer service but are always pleasant and work well under pressure for what is a busy, noisy emotional environment. Essentially, this is not your high end frou frou place, rather, your "next door" vet that honestly cares about the welfare of your pet at a very reasonable price. You never walk out of there feeling you were taken for a ride, rushed or just a number. I wouldnt go anywhere else. As a side note- I had moved around a lot in the past and had to visit many other vets and none have been able to compare!

They are very busy!! Other than that cant say anything but nice things about this place. The staff has been very friendly and treat our dog like she is a friend. We have gone places before where they treated our dogs as objects and didnt appear to care But not this place. Excellent with our little girl (dog). It might not be the nicest looking facility but I would rather them care and have an outdated place than the reverse. Price has been reasonable if not a little cheaper than expected. We have a German Shorthaired Pointer and started going there about 4 months ago for all the puppy visits and very pleased. Even though she is a larger breed they still base meds off of weight unlike other places I have been so that also give me comfort. Like someone else mentioned they do not push treatments or products on you. So far very happy pet owner. ***Update: So we have had a few major troubles with our pets and the Drs at this place are fantastic. If you can get past the wait or any difficulties at the front desk you will find the Drs here really care for your pets... Still very happy.

My family has been going here for years- at least a decade and a half, I think. I still drive here from Norwood. Other reviewers mention "bitchy" receptionists. Although I believe it use to be that way, I havent experienced anything but niceties in the past 2 years. My cat has a reputation. His chart is full of warnings. Just entering the door it is clear that he will need to be gassed before anyone can get closer than 3 feet of his crate. Seriously, he has enough force to move his crate 3 feet while confined inside. Yet, every time I call Abington animal hospital they can get him in and out within only a couple days of my call. They are good surgeons and look out for your pets best interest. Prices are reasonable and there is no additional cost if your pet has to stay overnight or come back for ripped stitches or wiring

Poor to fair is being to nice. Their prices are good. They dont push the products on you. However the staff at the desk are horrid. They are not the cleanest place in the world. The receptionists treat you like you do not matter. They can not keep their files organized. As we were going to put our dog to sleep and they asked if he was our previous dog or our cat that we had to put to sleep. This happens every time we go. Putting a pet to sleep is hard enough with out some snobby immature ladys bringing up those you have lost. Poing there makes me feel like im toes are being pulled off with a wrench. However the doctors are good and friendly. They treat our dogs well.

We have taken our pets to Abington Animal Hospital for over 13 years. There is no better place. They truly care about pets and their owners. It can be difficult to reach them by phone from time to time but that is because they are very busy and have a significant patient load. So, whats any different at a doctors office for people? The prices for pet care are very reasonable and if you have questions after a visit the staff gets back to you. We are truly grateful for the competence and professionalism of the staff and for the care we are receiving. And we continue to refer friends and other family members to this facility for their pet care needs. Win and Marion

Im compelled to write this review after my most recent visit to Dr. Curtin at Abington Animal Hospital. My cat has FIV and has had ongoing problems with weight loss due to the condition of his teeth and gums. Ive brought him to there several times in the past 6 months. On my last 2 visits Dr. Curtin showed tremendous kindness to me and my situation. On the first visit he waived the office visit charge and on my visit yesterday, he waived all charges completely. I was stunned to receive such treatment. He is clearly a person with a good heart, and my wife and I will continue to visit his practice for years to come.

I wouldnt bring my pet here if they paid me again. I have never been treated so poorly in my life and come to find out one of the women would waited on me was Dr. Curtins daughter they should truly be ashamed of themselves. Wait time was ridiculous once I got there and even when I called to make the appt.(that should have been the hint). Very dirty place. If you care about your pet go else where!!!!! Ladies you might want to take a Customer Service course or two! Remember word of mouth is priceless and first impressions last a life time...

Awful - just plain awful. The vet is nice enough and seems knowledgeable, but the front desk personnel are unpleasant, uncaring, and unprofessional. Also, after trying to get a pet health certificate for an animal that had been seen by this clinic since birth, I was told I had to pay a fee. Where most clinics will issue a certificate based on the animals record, Abbington will not without seeing the pet again. Apparently they dont even vouch for their own work - at least according to their rude receptionist, Cindy.

Ive brought my dogs and cats here for the past 20 years (I think its 20 anyway). Jack and his staff of vets are great. The pricing is a LOT more reasonable than the other places where they milk you every dime. I will however agree with the other poster that the reception staff leaves a little to be desired. A few more people skills on side would be nice. But that is a small piece compared to the great work that they do inside. Ill take a bitchy desk person any day to get the rest.
