I just went for a new patient visit! The entire staff is friendly and accommodating here! Dr. Klaahsen is very kind and performs quick, yet thorough eye exams. A few years ago, I went to another local optician and couldnt order contacts until the end of the 3rd visit; I was in and out of General Optical in 45 minutes. Visit was expensive, but they set me up with some courtesy discounts and rebates to take the edge off. I cant recommend this place enough!

I love the small cozy atmosphere. It gives the experience a personal touch. Diane, my salesperson was fantastic! She was able to get me every penny out of my insurance coverage. I cannot say enough about Diane. She is great! The prices are a little high but you pay for what you get. All in all a fantastic experience and I will go back when my prescription changes.

I have a very complicated prescription and General Optical is the only place I would go to get new glasses. Expensive but you get what you pay for, in other words your exact prescription and great service. I had previously bought glasses in a big store in Harvard Square and the astigmatism was 15 degrees wrong - so am a convert. JH

I have been going here for years. I love this staff - they are knowledgeable and helpful. Could I get cheaper glasses? Yes, a little cheaper, but everything our family has gotten from General Optical has been fabulous. Go here. You wont regret it.
