I recently brought my puppy because xrays were needed and my regular vet isnt equipped for that. Aside from waiting 30 minutes past the appointment in the lobby after they told me I could come for an early appointment, they didnt even apologize for the wait. I"m not sure which doctor I saw, but his first words as he pet my puppy was "Im so sorry they did this to you, Im so sorry they hurt you" referring to her cropped ears. Shes a doberman. Whether he agrees with the procedure or not, it was an extremely unprofessional comment to talk passive aggressively "through" the dog to make his point against me as the owner. Youre running a business, you do not speak to your clients that way. Ever. Checking out took about an additional 12 minutes. They couldnt get the computer to work. They werent able to get me change from the from desk. I had to wait and wait and wait for someone to come up with my $3.76 that was owed to me after spending $300. I used to work at a veterinary clinic. I also did cat rescues on my own for 10 years. Ive raised many animals and Ive worked with the public which requires customer service skills my entire life. I would never recommend this facility just based on the unprofessional manner alone. Even if it was free. Very disappointed. I had to put one star because no stars was not an option.

We have been going there for years. Dr. Gould and Dr. OBrien have seen our dogs, chickens, ferrets and even a pigeon. The horse doesnt travel so we have another vet for her. Dr. OBrien offers acupuncture that enabled my dog to live out the last year of her life with a lot more comfort and motion. (I was skeptical about acupuncture believe me.) Dr. Gould has the ability to understand the care we want for our animals. He will recommend. He has never pushed us. He has worked with us to find cheaper ways of treating our senior dogs. Both he and Dr. OBrien were respectful at the end with our dogs and made their passing as peaceful as possible for us and Red and Kira. What they are NOT is an emergency destination. Many vets operate this way. I have also found that vets do not usually respond to an emergency call from someone who has not been a regular client. This is just the way the world works. We rely on the the 24 hour ER in Bourne for our emergencies. I had 2 ferrets who became ill and were put to sleep on a Sunday. My new puppy swallowed my old dogs pills at 11:30pm one evening. I understand that if I have an emergency, I go there. For regular illnesses or check-ups, I use Mattapoisett. High marks for Dr. Gould and Dr. OBrien.

Ive been a very satisfied client for close to 15 years. Everyone is caring, knowledgeable and professional. Good veterinary care requires not just competency but also good communication, and everything here is explained and discussed. Testing and treatment plans are thorough but balanced, just the right degrees of caution and conservatism. The facility is spotless, well organized, and well equipped for both routine and specialized care. When traveling I have necessarily had to use other vet practices, and while most of them have been friendly and competent, none have nearly inspired the same level of confidence as I have in Mattapoisett Animal Hospital.

We recently lost our family Dog. It was abrupt and tragic, and we had no idea what to do. The local animal control officer made a call to the staff at the Mattapoisett Animal Hospital. The agreed without hesitation to remain at the facility even though they were closing in the next 15 minutes. They handled the entire ordeal with such grace and compassion. Explaining our options and walking us through the process. They cleaned him and prepped him so that our family could gather and grieve. They gave us all the time we needed. Never any indication that they needed to close up and go home. We will never go to Vet. If I could give more stars I would.

I love, love, love the Mattapoisett Animal Hospital. Where should I start. Im 60 years old and have been going there for 8 years. I have been to other vets that were good but Dr. Gould and Dr. OBrien are both great! The hospital is the nicest that Ive been in, attractive, comfortable and very clean. The staff is so nice to me and my dog and seem genuinely happy to be there. I have to travel a bit to get there but they are only a mile from 195 so its easy. Not only do I love them but my lab pulls me into the building (they bribe him with treats). Ive sent friends there and they all agree. If you are looking for a vet, look no further.

i had brought my little dwef hamster who had an accident with his foot stuck, i got his foot out and they squeezed me in that same day was only $55 to see him and about 7$ for both his medicines. The staff there is so friendly and wonderful the only problem i had was they misheard my name on the phone but thats not totally horrible overal a very good expierncence and quick. they also sell some cat and dog needs as well didnt really get a too good look they have other products for other animals too, i would definately recommend them ☺️

Our puppies were sick over the weekend. We left a message for the on call doctor and never received a call back. I called monday morning..they said "Oh he was on vacation." The other doctor was covering, she must have forgot the phone. I will never bring them back there. I would bring your puppy there either! The doctor was very condesending as well.

We have tried all of the vets closer to home like Buzzards Bay, Marion Animal Hospital a and Dr. Johnson of Rt. 28 in Middleboro but from the first visit here, we will go nowhere else for our furry child. Dr. Gould is awesome as well as his partner, I forgot her name, and the staff is friendly and always ready to assist.
