Happy Swheatie
I wish that I had found this place earlier for my Happy who passed away on 3/2/2015 (3 days shy of his 14th birthday). When I brought Happy to see Dr Spyridakis, he was already diagnosed with two large tumors (blood cancer) and bilateral laryngeal paralysis. Dr S also had been in touch with me to obtain more records and any upcoming medical information that I would be getting prior to our first visit with her. After our visit..and only office visit, she kept in touch (via email and phone) even when she wasnt in the office (also on the weekend) and would ask about Happys progress and offer suggestions and provide realistic facts...she guided with gentle hands. On the very last day and hours of Happys life, Dr S returned my call to talk about how I wanted to handle Happys sleep. Dr S offered to make a call to the office and prep her team on what I had wanted, so that I would not have to worry about the ending. During Happys last visit, the hospital gave him oxygen (to ease his breathing) and sedation...both to relieve any stress that might result from the sleep...they wanted him to be comfortable for the end. No words could put how I felt when I held my Happy and for him to take his last breath....and become deathly still. I stayed well over three hours to be with my Happy...not once did I feel any pushing from them to leave the premise. I am so very pleased that Happy ended up with an extremely caring primary vet...even if it was for a very short time. Dr Spyridakis and her team are absolutely priceless.

I could not be more thrilled with Dover Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Spyridakis. We have a 5 year old pup that was diagnosed with liver disease when he was about 2 years old. Hes had fairly frequent relapses for the last couple of years and prior vets were consistently treating his symptoms as just back pain even though we had relayed other symptoms that seemed to suggest something else might be going on. We bought a house and needed a vet closer to our new home which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we found Dr. Spyridakis. For the past several years we have had to change vets several times because of frequent moves and we have never met a vet that is as thorough and cares as much about getting our pup healthy as Dr. Spyridakis. She really does go above and beyond and its such a great feeling to finally have someone we can trust oversee our dogs health and wellbeing. Thank you Dr. Spyridakis and Dover Veterinary Hospital for all that you do!!!

My entire family has been clients of this hospital for the past 40+ years. Ive had my dog (who is pushing 16 by the way) seen here for the past 15 years. Currently seeing Dr. Rennie who has been great at providing regular and holistic treatment that has helped keep him going for so long. Always had a great experience. They are thorough, they listen, explain all options, and weve just always had the sense that the quality of care was exceptional. My dog is my family. I take his quality of life and the care he receives very seriously; it can also be emotional. Not looking forward to some of the decisions Ill be making over the next few years and I wouldnt feel comfortable going anywhere else. I feel confident that they will always make recommendations in the best interests of the patient (him, not me). Ive recommended several friends and colleagues to this hospital and will continue to do so.

If youre looking for a hands-on, personal and caring veterinary practice Dover Vet is the place for you. They offer a wide range of services that address each pet on both traditional and holistic levels. I had the good fortune of discovering Dover Vet 4 years ago after taking my animals to other facilities in the area. I wouldnt take my 3 dogs and 2 "pocket pets" any where else for care. The doctors and staff are always professional yet caring on a very personal level. They take a genuine interest in my pets and their well-being. They use a collaborative approach so that the pet owner clearly understands the treatment options. I feel very fortunate to have found this practice and take comfort in knowing they are caring for my animals.

All of the care received here has been excellent. They are great in every area except one - sensitivity to cost. Every time Ive asked them to explain the cost of a procedure Ive been met with impatience and rudeness. They act as if its a huge inconvenience for them to go over a price. They dont seem to realize that $500 is a lot of money to hand over without explanation. They need to understand that we customers deserve to know what were paying for. They would have received an "excellent" rating if they werent so rude.

Everyone is very nice and service was good, however I was turned away when they tried to tell me I was going to have to pay $60 for a "recheck" when my dog is perfectly healthy and seen 3 weeks ago and all he needed was a second part to a shot. I would have loved to continue to bring my pets there, but I felt like I was being ripped off.

We have used Dover Vet for 40 years. Somehow the doctors and staff have remained helpful and caring all that time.
