AWFUL!!! I never write reviews, however, this place is at the bottom of my list. We have been bringing our 10 year old lab to NE Vet since she was a pup. Unfortunately, the service and more importantly the care has fallen to the wayside. If you think of your pet as family like we do, in my opinion, this is not the place for you. We haven’t been satisfied for a while here, and are most definitely going elsewhere. The icing on the cake: We brought our dog in yesterday with signs of Lyme Disease. They ran tests, and told us they would call us the next day (my mother’s dog just had Lyme Disease, and went to another vet where they were able to give results and meds within minutes of the tests). My husband was in the area for work today, so he dropped into the office to get some information. He was told that the vet that saw our dog yesterday was not in until the afternoon (possibly noon … or 1pm…??) and that she would have to give us the results. Since my dog today seemed worse this morning… not eating, drinking, not even standing or going to the bathroom – I am completely dissatisfied with this response. I called them and explained the situation – that my husband was just there, and that my dog is worse today, and that I would like to speak with a vet that is there to get results and hopefully meds to start treating her asap. I was put on hold and after 10 mins told “Sorry, but the vets are in other appointments, and they don’t have time to talk to you”. They don’t have time to talk to me – after my bill of $300+ yesterday, they can’t give me 5 minutes on the phone to tell me the test results and send my husband home with some meds? Completely unacceptable. I told the girl on the phone that this was completely ridiculous – that I knew it wasn’t her fault, but that I’m appalled that we have to wait for results when the vets there could easily take a couple of minutes to tell me. Who’s to say that when the vet we saw yesterday gets in she doesn’t have appointments.. and isn’t TOO BUSY for us? When I voiced my frustration – the response was that if I was that concerned then I could bring my dog in again today for an emergency visit. Right, sure that’s what I’ll do.. go and give you more money so you can blow me off, and tell me nothing. I’m disgusted. My advice – find somewhere else to take your pet. They put on a good show when you’re there with the vet… but in actuality – they are TOO BUSY… It’s all business, and they don’t care!

I do NOT recommend this vet hospital to ANYONE. They have denied emergency care to a pet of mine because of a small previous unpaid bill BUT payments were still being made, they just wanted the bill completely paid off. You CANNOT deny emergency care to a pet, I told them I will pay for this cats visit and make a payment on the unpaid bill to get it almost completely paid off- I was still told "no we cannot see her." The secretaries there are rude, and dont care about people or animals at all except for Peg, she is the only decent person there who actually cares. The vets failed to provide proper and correct care to a cat of mine who had to be put down because he had cancer that spread and went unnoticed. My cat was first diagnosed with cancer in 2009, but was never rechecked, no tests were ever run to make sure he was beating it, or to see if it had came back. We kept bringing my cat almost every month to either get a steroid shot or to try new pills for his breathing but nothing ever worked. We were always told try this medicine or up the dosage. This is the same vet my cat had seen since he was a kitten too. The only good thing this vet did was remove the cancerous tumor from his face immediately but still never suggested any x-rays or any other type of testing at any other time. Had we known about this ahead of time we would have done anything to get him proper treatment. For years my cat was suffering when the vet said he had a good quality of life. The day my cat had to be put down he went 20 hours without eating or drinking, did not go to the bathroom, was throwing up bile for 6 hours, could not walk, barely could breathe, and did not move from under my desk until it was time to take him to the emergency vet. If thats a good quality of life to New England - shame on them because I know that is not a good quality of life in my book. I saw the x-rays of my cats chest and the cancer was spread and his chest was covered with cancer. All these years the cancer was the issue, he was taking medicine that he did not need. This place only cares about money; anything to make a buck is what they want. My family and I will never be returning to New England, ever again. We put 110% of our trust in them and they ruined in. Weve had family members go there for many, many years and I am disgusted with them.

Our 3 yr old dog had been feeling sick the past week and we brought her in twice to be treated. Once on Saturday and then Monday was the 2nd day we brought her in and they kept her all day to run IV fluids in her and bloodwork etc. The thought was she may have Addisons Disease (which is treatable), her kidneys were also not functioning properly and the complete results would be back in Tuesday. We picked her up at 5pm on that Monday after spending the day there and the Vet told us to take her home and to bring her back in the AM for the results, all she needed was some rest he said. I don’t know what they were doing for her on Monday but she looked like hell when we picked her up. At 5:50pm I could tell something was off so I called the vet and got their answering service, btw their hours of operation were until 6:30pm, yet their service said they were gone for the day, even giggling and saying they never answer after 530pm. I made the decision at 645pm to drive up to one of the 24 hour Animal Hospitals as I knew something was wrong, sadly our sweet Georgia girl died in the back of my SUV on the way to the Hospital. So Thanks New England Animal Hospital and Dr. Nicholas Dagenais for sending home a dying dog with the instructions she just needs some rest. Perhaps if you had done your job you could have recognized the issue was serious and not just released her back to us like some burden you wanted to get rid of for the night. I would have taken her right away to intensive care and done whatever it took to save her. Instead we are now without a member of our family and completely devastated. I will never forgive myself for trusting them and not rushing Georgia to Emergency care sooner. I am so sorry my girl, I failed you and for that I will never forgive myself. I don’t say this out of self-pity, yet I want you all to know that this place cannot be trusted to care for animals, because of them we are without our Sweet Georgia girl. Because of them our dog passed in a way she did not deserve, we were robbed of the chance to save her life or even say our proper goodbyes. Please don’t make the same mistakes I made.
