What a fabulous resource we have with Windhover Vet Center! Ive been taking my pets here for several years and cannot say enough positive comments about the staff and facilities. First: my introduction was several years ago when my dog Scruffy was quite sick and another vet office said “aw, it’s a tummy ache” ... Im not sure How I ended up at Windhover ... but Dr. McMillan diagnosed her and found ... she had a Tumor! OMG – she saved my dog’s life. Next: my older cat Cuddles became quite sick (lost appetite, etc.) – over a weekend I took her to Tufts Emergency who just suggested I "put her down" ... but ran to Windhover when they opened and Dr. Holmes was incredible. She offered her empathy and instructed me on how to offer subcutaneous fluids at home. She worked with me for homeopathic treatments, offered suggestions on feeding - - Cuddles lived another 2 ½ years – with a wonderful quality of life. Then: years later I adopted a dog, Chloe, who we found had neurological issues and became ill. Both Dr. Holmes and McMillan took painstaking time to really look into this. Amazingly, we found an answer (from this vet office!) to get Eddie’s Wheels to assist her walking! She lived another 4 years with a fabulous quality of life. Most recently, I adopted an older kitty, Cargo, that was in quite sad shape. The entire staff was remarkable in their caring and concern. Without Windhover, I could not have nursed this fellow to health. I was told by a “cat specialist” he had cancer and wouldn’t eat. Turns out, Windhover was able to discern he had a tooth abscess. They sent me to a special vet and he was able to live out his senior years with great love and a family. What an incredible office, a caring (sincerely) staff and amazing doctors. I trust them with my “family” of pets. I’ve already sent all my friends there – that says it all.

We had an emergency with two of our baby parrotlets, and they needed to see a vet right away. Our normal vet could not take our babies at the time, but he recommended a close-by Avian Certified Vet.. Windhover. At this point it seemed bleak for the two babies, and honestly I would have been OK if the vet did a once over and told me they were goners. They were sick, and baby birds do quickly pass. Instead, the vet went about her business and told me I need to be tube feeding them as she forcibly shoved a small tube down the youngests throat. Even making a comment about how it was being a "tricky bugger". She pumped it full of water, medicine, and sent me on my way with a bill of $200. I got home and within 2 hours my first baby was dead (the youngest). When I examined her body, I looked in the throat with a flashlight and noticed a big hole had been pierced in the throat walls. Her force with the feeding tube killed my bird. (Dont get me wrong, my birds were very sick and we lost both of them sadly.) I find her unprofessional, uncaring, and a complete ripoff. She didnt even know anything about parrotlets, and tried to tell me I was wrong several times, even though Im quite knowledgeable with the species. I would not recommend this vet, although I cannot recall her name. I cant speak for every vet, and I cannot speak for how she is with other animals. I would just never let her touch a small animal again, nevertheless a bird!

The vets at Windhover are the best Ive encountered in a lifetime of owning dogs. I wouldnt take my dogs anywhere else. In addition to getting the best care, the vets have a gentle and compassionate approach that I wish I could find in human medicine. They have been particularly good with our elderly dogs. Ive seen two negative reviews (one here and one on Yelp) that strike me as very odd, because they describe Windhover in a way that seems completely different than any experience Ive had there, and Ive been using them for many years. The only conclusion I can draw is they are written by competitors who are trying to slander them. Its really a shame to target vets that are as caring and as good as Windhover, when there are so many bad vets in the world. Go after them, not these guys.

I went to this vet for the first time today to have my dogs foot looked at, as he has been limping and in pain. After waiting 40 minutes, while my dog, who is terrified of the vet and pants and shakes and even piddles when hes there, was forced to stand on his injured foot and walk the whole length of the veterinary offices 3x. The vet finally came in, said she had only just been handed the dogs chart (40 minutes after our appointment time) then wanted to spray lavender to calm my dog! I told her no, and she told me she wouldnt treat my dog. Thanks Windhover Veterinary Center, for causing my dog extra pain and suffering, delaying his treatment, and wasting my time. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone who loves their pet.

this place takes advantage of people....so the visit is 70 bucks ...oh but wait...theres a room fee of 8 bucks.....hello, really?? i didnt know you couldnt check them in the parking lot..DUH!!! Oh wait, i am all booked so on top of that let me slap on a emergency fee....oh wait ...the medication that is usually 10 everywhere else is 80 bucks here, so we need to ram it a little further......BECAUSE OF PLACES LIKE THIS, THIS IS WHY PEOPLE DONT TAKE THEIR ANIMALS TO THE VET.......SHAMEFUL!!!

I am very happy with the experience at WIndhover Veterinary Center. The traditional vet was not getting it done. They didnt want to figure why my dogs eyes kept running, just wanted her to take two types of drops every day forever. Windhover, on the other hand, had lots of ideas about figuring out what was going on including allergy tests. The allergy tests showed a severe allergy to dust mites.

If you need a vet with compassion and a loving touch Dr. Mcmillan is the one you want. She is amazing with animals and their families. I can not say enough good things about this clinic from the Doctor to the staff. Its refreshing to see people who actually care about what they do.
