Banfield lures you in with its relatively inexpensive pet plans, but will cost you so much more over time. It doesnt seem like a coincidence that what was initially just a teeth cleaning for my cat turned into a multiple extraction. Well, since they said that it was necessary, I believed them (though Im kicking myself for it now, especially since my cats previous vet (AA Cat Clinic--MUCH better place btw) never said anything about it. To make a long story short, they botched the extraction and my cat couldnt eat. At that point, I knew I was going to lose him. To make his passing easier, we wanted to get an IV fluid drip for him for a couple of hours. We refused the tube-insertion surgery for tube feeding. We left for an hour, then came back, and lo and behold, they had done the surgery, claiming that we had wanted it done, when we specifically told them we didnt. We signed for the IV drip ONLY. So on top of everything, my poor cat had a tube sticking out of his throat, unable to even meow, drugged out of his mind, instead of having a calm passing. Banfield is probably the worst place you can take your pet. DONT DO IT!

I have been using Banfield for about 6 months now. I joined their mecial assurance for my dog. He is epileptic and requires medication refills monthly; I must call in and pick up. Which I would get yearly at prior vets, my dog is 10. They seem to make it such a hassle, then they have sent the script to the wrong pharmacy 4 out of 5 times. It has gotten so fustrating. I cant wait.for my contract to end. The only reason i agreed was because the groomer is right next door, at PetSmart. The fisrt time I used them I was so pleased. The groomer kept telling me what a good boy he was and we both said "see you again". His lil report card had all excellent. So the next time I take him to get groomed there, the manager was called up front to inform me my dog can not be groomed there any more because he became tired and wasnt standing??? He is 10 my goodnes. So Im a lil apprehensive to bring him back to doc. I decided to write this because I have just called there and their phone can not be reached???again. They need better coustomer service trianing....

I brought my 6 month old all-white husky in to check her eye which had turned all grey overnight. The vet performed a test and told us it was nothing to worry about, that she had either bumped her eye or had something in it. She prescribed us gel medicines to get the swelling down, which we had to administer throughout the day in our dogs eye. When we returned for our follow up check up, and nothing had improved, the vet admitted she "hadnt taken all the opthamology courses," and would get someone else to take a look. Well, turns out our dog has glaucoma which is also apparently VERY common in all-white dogs, and her vision in her eye had been gone since our first initial visit. We had felt so safe with our "preventative care plan" and now she has a prosthetic eye :( LUCKILY Blue Pearl Vet was recommended to us, now our dog is getting TRUE preventative care in her other eye. Its a shame Banfields vet couldnt realize our all white dog had glaucoma, such a common thing in all-white animals, earlier. They simply arent qualified in any sense.

I loved this Vet when Dr. Grattan and Dr. Sarah Lowe were the vets, even enjoyed the staff behind the desk. Weve only been going here for a couple short months, and all of a sudden I show up for my puppies shots and set up his neuter and POOF; theres some young jerk thats a vet there now!! Thanks for letting us know that the other vets left!! That guy; whoever he is; is a total JERK. The whole time we were in there, all he did was tell us how horrible our puppy is. When he gave Mongo his shots, he didnt even put the table down to put him on it; COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Weve switched to the Brighton Banfield, but Ive heard horrible things about their vets, too. Who knows, maybe our original vet staff moved to Brighton!?!? DONT GO HERE; THE ENTIRE STAFF OF THE WHOLE STORE CHANGED, I SWEAR OVERNIGHT, AND THEY ARE A BUNCH OF JERKS. Ive even observed their groomers; Id punch someone if they handled my babies that way!! Good thing I do my own grooming!

Brought my dog in for a wellness check and my dog mysteriously winds up with pancreatitis the following day and he had to be brought back in for a couple hundred dollars in tests and we were told before a single test was administered that there were no possible scenarios that there was any connection to his preventative care administered the day prior. I wish I never would have brought him in for the wellness check as it actually made him sick and now I have been forced for fork over more money and been accused of letting my dog eat an excess of fatty foods to cause a problem they actually caused. I hate this place and would never go back if it wasnt for being stuck in the contract. Will look for other locations in the meantime in hopes of finding a more qualified team of veterinarians. If you havent signed up yet, DONT DO IT!

We went in for the free vet check and the suggested shots and a stool sample for my new puppy because she has been having diarrhea for a couple days. I said okay do it (giving permission for them to charge me for these services), and the microchip. They take her back to do the microchip and dont do the suggested stool sample or shots that I gave permission for!! They clearly didnt care for her well being, I was concerned about her. Oh well I will just take her to a real vet. Would not suggest this place as a primary care vet. Edit: she had coccidia. Needed meds to get rid of it and it took about a week of meds for symptoms to go away. There is no reason this vet should have overlooked this. Even I knew something was wrong.

Weve been taking our dog there for 2 years now. They are always so nice and remember her. We have the wellness plan so we can take her on for ANYTHING and they see her and check her up. Its helpful because you cant always tell whats going on with a dog. The Vet techs and assistance are nice and remember Abby and her conditions. My favorite part is that I can schedule to drop my dog off for an all day exam and then shes more comfortable and I dont have to worry about her at the vet.

My wife and I have 4 puppies that we regularly take to this location. They are super friendly and trully care about the animals they take care of. Whenever I have questions, i call in and they are never bothered by either mine or my wifes concerns. Even if its silly questions, like why my puppy sneezed. I highly recommend them as good hands and hearts for all your animals needs. I will be bringing all my puppies to them for years to come... Even the ones I havent adopted yet. :-)

I gave a 2 rank because I will say Banfield is Very Good and affordable, they care about the animals and do their best to help them, They are affordable because most of the vets there are 1st or 2nd years out of schools. I know this because i took my dogs their for years and each year there was a new vet. However I will say they cared for the animals and did their best to help some may shy from the inexperience but they know their stuff. I will continue to go here in the future.
