The upper management of the facility attempts to address issues quickly, but that does not make up for the terrible service and medical treatment provided by their staff. I recently moved to Michigan and I have been waiting for 3 months to see a psychiatrist for a refill of a benzodiazepine- a drug that has been prescribed to me for over 10 years by the VA. On one occasion, this VAMC booked two appointments 30 minutes apart which I thought was great. However, on the day of my appointments I couldnt find the clinic where my appointment was scheduled. Then, I went down to the front desk to ask for help and I was told that the clinics are 50 miles apart from each other. To make matters worse the 5 clerks in the office all started laughing! They then sent me next door to speak with a social worker when I needed a refill for medication. These people are completely useless. OIF and OEF veteran. I fully believe that the VA should be privatized at this point. This is perfect example of what is wrong with government healthcare. There are too many middle managers and low level admins and not enough doctors, physician assistants, and nurses. This possibly one of the worst VAMCs in the country.

All of my doctors visits have been positive. Ive seen a doctor, eye doctor, foot doctor, hearing doctor. Nurses and scheduling personnel are always excellent. My experience with the billing people... Not so good. In truth, it was one woman who was unable to figure out how to run my chipped credit card as a credit card. So no payment was made. Finally, my experience with the mental health group leads me to believe they want vets to kill themselves. My first doctors appointment I informed her I suffered from depression. Yes, I was suicidal and yes I had an exit plan. My doctor asked if I thought being referred to the mental health group would be beneficial. I said, yes. Month goes by. Checked to see if it was normal for it to take a month for someone to get back with you. Was told my referral was canceled by the mental health group. Neither me nor my doctor was notified of the cancellation. Not good.

Lets see, where do I begin, I call to make an appointment and get hung up on bc Im trying to explain my problems and just keep getting told to go to the ER, the ER does nothing but put a saline drip in my arm and an hour later release me. I am very dissatisfied with the care iv been giving, my primary doctor never put in that I have chest pains. I ask for an EKG and she then tells me again go to the ER. I may not have been blown up or shot at but I served my country very honorably and need to be treated as a vet and not some POS. If I do not get my EKG I will be taking this to a federal level.

50/50 some days 5 Stars and some days 1 star depends on days and right automation calls and new Id che k in system slowly no-one actually to talk to. The information desk a shame job cause if not what you want they send ya over to Urgent care windowcheck the CWT~ ITP helpers sometime help out...But in all is NOT True VA Hospital more a clinical and mental ward due main hospitals are 40+ Miles. Away in Ann Arbor and Detroit. The Hurry Up and Wait is true here....Sometimes the reschedule ya at comments notice.

Ive never had a problem with the specialty clinics here, the doctors are great. On the other hand, my boyfriend had to go to the ER a few days ago because the clinic near us never got back to him. The ER doctor prescribed some meds and he waited to fill them here at the VA because we were coming here anyways. Unfortunately, they scrips have to be rewritten by a VA doctor to be filled here; and as of right now weve been waiting three hours while hes still in pain from the issue he went to the ER for. The service is terrible.

The VAMC is excellent. I have had great help there, and my primary care doctor is super nice, and so are all the nurses and other staff. Everyone is nice, caring, and very helpful. It amazes me that clerks actually remember my name when I walk in. It is better here than at any private practice doctors. Many private practice doctors refuse to accept the VA "Choice Program" in Kalamazoo where I live. Not nice....

I have been trying since November 2015 to get my Vocational Rehabilitation going and the lady Tamara Lemon seems very incompetent. If she would work as hard to work from home because she seems to think she is in constant fear for her life as she did helping veterans I would not be so harsh. Most disrespectful treatment I have ever received at this clinic.

Ive been very happy the services offered here. Its pretty much everything I need for my health care. The people have also been amazing. Very friendly and ready to help. Thats not to say everything runs smoothly all the time. Like anywhere, things happen, but Im always impressed by how mistakes are dealt with.

My experience at this treatment center was a very positive happening in my life. The staff there were very understanding & helpful if I ever need psych. ward treatment again I will have no trepidations about coming back. Some of the nicest people Ive ever met in my life Good will to all.

Absolutely joke. Doctors do NOT listen to you. Unless its a mental problem, do yourself a huge favor and go to Ann Arbor. I did and have not been happier. If they had a zero this place would qualify.
