We took our rescue male fur baby in to be tested for heart worms because our neighbors dog tested positive and unfortunately we had forgotten just one month to give Fatboy his medication and he ended up testing positive, we were told the total treatment would be over a thousand dollars and that the medication was in short supply because there was an epidemic of heart worms in Genesee county and theyd have to order it which would take about a week to come in, so in the mean time my husband called his cousin who once worked for a veterinary practice in flushing and is retired but does research on infectious animal diseases, he said we were being very overpriced for Fatboys treatment by double and to call the veterinary practice he once worked with. The next day we did and they said yes we do have the medication and no there is no short supply of it and the price to treat him will be $500 for everything so we took Fatboy there and 6 weeks later he tested negative now Grand Blanc Veterinary practice was also going to give Fatboy some very unnecessary medication also which really upset me to know I mean why tamper with a member of our family and put him at more risk as it is! Plus Fatboy is a rescue and Grand Blanc Vet works in partnership with PAWS so the price of his treatment shouldnt have been so much, my neighbor gets great deals for his rescue dogs because of PAWS helping to cover the cost for rescued pets. They also took care of my baby girl Iris who had metastatic breast cancer and the cost of her treatment was fair so why would they charge us double of what the other veterinary practice did, I feel they were taking advantage and we were gonna end up paying for someone elses pet to have treatment. The cost of Iriss surgery and other treatments were just slightly higher than the cost of what they said Fatboy would need for the heartworm treatment plus the vets always have this look of doomsday on their faces and I want to see someone smiling, loving and have a twinkle in their eye if Im putting the life of my family members in their hands btw we took Fatboy to West Flint Animal Hospital and thats just what I saw on the faces of the vets who care about their patients and is now my babies new Drs to see, Im 45 and had been taking all my babies to Grand Blanc Veterinary Hospital since I was 17 yrs old, I really miss Dr Harris who was the best vet in Genesee county and would be available no matter what time of day or night it was in fact one night he opened up for me to bring in my rescued Pit Bull who had cut the pad of his paw open and had me work with him as his tech support because nobody else was there and I was only 18 he really taught me a lot on the care of dogs; now thats a true,kind loving man! Plus he never judged a dog by its breed and thats what I have finally found once again

I am so happy with Grand Blanc Animal Hospital. I recently moved to the area about six months ago, but work in downtown Flint. On a very regular basis in Flint neighborhoods, 475 and major roads I see dogs running lose - even entering the expressway via the on-ramp. I have pulled over, chased two. Got one on Dort highway, have taken kittens abandoned in parking lots, etc. Flint has a major problem. In the begining when I would find a stray Id call Animal Control and the Humane Society as well as a cat rescue or dog charity. I was repeatedly turned away, in fact told not to even show up. As I live in Grand Blanc, I did not know what more to do in Flint - so I drove the animals out to vets around my apartment complex. I was also turned away from vets who refused to help me. What is a person to do with an animal, sick, hungry and panicing? I drove to Grand Blanc Animal Hospital and was greeted warmly - that was SO different from the other places I experienced. I made a small donation, the animals have been cleaned up, and the hospital works on adopting them out. Im grateful that they are still human enough to help. Not even the other vets were - or could provide ANY helpful information. GB Animal Hospitals staff was inviting, kind and sympathetic to what the animal (and I) were going through.

Took my cat in for a uti, staff was friendly and knew what they were doing. As a walk in on a Friday morning the wait was not long. (20-30 minutes). The vet who saw my cat was knowledgeable and informative about what was going on with my pet and very open to questions/concerns that I had. I would definitely bring my cat here again in the future.

Today was my first time in. It was very busy but everyone was helpful and really nice. I like that they take walk-ins. I noticed some people had to wait that were just picking up meds or making payments. Id try to call ahead and ask to pay over the phone. Would be nice if they did refills and payments online
