There are two women there that do prescription refills and work with the iPledge system for accutane patients. One of the womans name is Crystal and she is so kind and always willing to work with you. The other women, which I dont know her name, should not be working in customer service. In the past I have called to change my pharmacy where I want my prescription sent and she tells me that I need to use one pharmacy and that if I dont do that they are going to have to no longer allow me to use accutane. I am not sure how which pharmacy I choose is relevant to me continuing with the program. Every time I call she puts me on hold forever and then hangs up on me right after she answers. This last time, she hung up on me three times in a row. One time I was filling out my comprehensive questions and I accidentally clicked something wrong and iPledge locked me out. I immediately called the office. This woman told me that I was done and out of luck, made me cry on the phone. About five minutes later Crystal calls me and tells me everything is okay and all she had to do was reset my questions. It was that simple, but apparently the other woman thought it would be more fun to upset me. As if being on accutane isnt enough of a nightmare, lets yell at patients on the phone too. I dont care how great the physicians assistants are, it isnt worth paying a ton of money to go to this office and be treated like crap.

I have been going to this office for years as a patient of Autumn Hopkins and she has always been very friendly and helpful. No complaints with her services and I would highly recommend her! On the other hand, I have recently become extremely unhappy with this location. I had to switch my insurance to a Medicaid derivative and was told three separate times before signing up for a plan that this office would accept it. Last month, I went in for my appointment but was told that I had to wait for my new insurance card to arrive - fair enough - and I was once again assured that my insurance would be accepted upon rescheduling. Today, I called to make an appointment and I was informed that they do not accept the insurance that I signed up for. This is very frustrating considering that their assurance of acceptance was a big factor in my decision to choose this plan. I was informed that I could pay out of pocket for the appointment - this is almost insulting considering that I probably wouldnt be on Medicaid and would have better insurance if I could afford to pay out of pocket. I dont understand how I can receive different information from employees of the same office. The employees are never apologetic about handing out misinformation and wasting my time - considering I have been a patient here for several years, I feel unappreciated and undervalued.

I saw Teresa the PA which seemed to be alright. The front desk and the people in the office seem to have attitude and are very stuck up. Every time I talk to the front desk on the phone they seem to want to fight and argue on process , procedures, and steps to follow instead of helping me get well. I feel like I am talking with my teenage daughter and having an argument on process and rules to follow. I have been to the best Dermatologist in the world Dr. Alan Menter in Dallas Texas at Baylor University and there service was outstanding. I would not recommend going to this Kalamazoo Dermatology, they are very sassy and they think they are so good. But I am comparing them with the world re known Dr. Alan Mentor as a benchmark and they do not even come close. All I can say every-time I talk to Kalamazoo dermatology on the phone I get fake an unreal attitude. Front Desk and office needs an attitude adjustment, office people are very fake and superficial with a little mix of being stuck up. I am surprised I do not here the girls on the phone stomp there foot on the ground with there hands on there hips and go huh.

At first I was very pleased with the service I received at Kalamazoo Dermatology. They seemed friendly and genuinely interested in wanting to help me. Then, as I would call to try and schedule an appointment, I would be put on hold for upwards of 10 minutes, which is ridiculous. There was one time I was put on hold so long that I called back only for a voice recording to tell me that they had closed for the day. I was furious that they didnt have the courtesy to take my call, let alone leave me on hold indefinitely. I left a message informing them of this and heard nothing back, not even a simple apology for such rudeness. My most recent appointment was canceled by the physicians assistant, so I tried rescheduling, only to find out that they wouldnt be able to see me any sooner than a month, even with my painful skin condition. I am at my wits end but dont have many other options since this is one of the few places my insurance covers in the area.

I have gone to this clinic to address many issues during my residence in Kalamazoo. They clinic is clean and there are plenty of staff that are friendly. It is really hard to get in even if you are a regular patient. I waited 2 months with a serious skin ailment to be seen. They did prescribe a steriod creme medication but this made matters worse and I had to wait until my appointment to be seen. When I finally got in to see someone, Teresa, she took a biopsy. The results took another week to come in and I was prescribed the exact same creme that made matters worse. I called them. They told me it takes 24 hours to straighten out my medication issues. I have had it with these people. They do very poor work. They always talk down to me like how could my condition be worse I must be mistaken?? There are not a lot of alternatives here in Kalamazoo or else I would long ago have sought out another provider.

Waited 45 minutes to see the doctor for 7 minutes. He told me nothing, I never had a chance to ask my list of questions, and was ushered out. The reason for going there was for a second opinion. What a waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else. As the doctor told me come back and see me when you have skin cancer Ill take care of it then. Never did he say you have blue eyes, fair skin, protect yourself. It was almost like he wasnt about treating the issue I was having but rather let’s wait until its cancerous then Ill help. The questions he asked me were demeaning, and made me feel like a fool. Im not looking to be coddled however I do expect to be treated with respect. Especially if Im paying you for your service. This is not the only office in Michigan. Theres a reason these guys have such low reviews. And I can tell you, from my experience, its because they dont care. Period.
