I was in a horriable situation with a puppy I purchased off a lady who lied to me about everything including the breed. My puppy was said to be a boston terrier chihuahua mix. I got her June 15th. 8 weeks Im told. June 30th the vet tells me she 4 weeks old, my jaw hit the ground. After taking her home, keeping only outside long enough to do puppy business and right back inside, two weeks later she laid around, no power to move, eat nor drink. Mommy instinct I went straight to local store got pedlite and eye dropped it into her for 3 days, as I found 5 different rescues to help my dog. And not one single one told me they didnt have the funds. Nope, they stated we dont help dogs that are not rescued through an organization. Well, if thats the case, why would I be searching for help, wouldnt I go back to the organization. Anyways, as I watched my poor helpless puppy lay around, Rodchester Humane Society came to my rescue. They told me to bring her right there, I already new we were dealing with parvo. I have experience in the vet field. After getting there, I was treated with the up most respect, I was so upset with 3 children and knowing what might be the outcome I was in tears. Parvo positive I heard. A millions things ran through my mind, Ive seen and heard how people spend a small fortune and there puppy still passes, I looked at 3 faces with sadness, we had to fight. The vet got me all straight, I took her home, did what I had been told medical wise. The vet called and checked on our puppy, which I thought was so nice. && our puppy is happy and healthy today, we drive over 45 mins every trip to there vet && I refuse to go anywhere else!!! Hats off to your crew && the ones involved in my personal experience. Needless to say, our puppy has no features whats so ever of a chihuahua. Vet thinks Boston terrier boxer mix. She is almost 40 pounds now!! =)

We adopted a puppy from there who had just been fixed. after having her for one day we had to rush her to emergency because the incision site got infected. when we brought the puppy back to the humane society they did everything in their power not to help us. My poor puppy is in pain and they refuse to help her and send out coutures to see whats wrong and what can be done to treat my puppy. it got so bad that we are now spending over 4 grand at another vet that is willing to help our puppy. they do not take responsibility for their actions and will do anything so that they dont have to pay for it and let the poor dog suffer in the meantime. they are heartless and I cant believe they wouldnt do everything in their power to help a dog in need. they are the worst vet that i have ever encountered. I am disgusted and extremely upset by their behavior. How is it that 2 different vets tell us the puppy needs surgery to have an open wound closed, but they tell us no just keep coming back every few days and we will change the bandages. that is absolutely ridiculous and borderline abuse. had we not gotten a second opinion my puppy could be dying right now because of their serious Neglect and lack of care for animals. They do not even deserve 1 star.

My husband, son and I went in looking for a dog. We were very warmly greeted by Annie and she helped us kind of sort through which dogs would be the perfect fit or may not have been for us. With alot of knowledge, she made these decisions based on what we were looking for and the type of behavior the dog had. After the decision to pass on the dog, we looked at some feline friends. Annie was very eager to show us them as she explained they had an over abundance of them. When we walked into the cat room, we immediately saw our new family member. He was (still is) so cuddly, lovable and just perfect around our son. Annie was able to get us a discount on the cat and was very informative at checkout offering a 30 day free trial of health insurance and they even sent us home with a bag of cat food. I would strongly recommend this humane society to any and everyone whether youre looking for a cat or a dog. Thank you so much Annie!! :)

My review is re: this is NOT a licensed wildlife rehab facility / vet, as is listed on Michigans DNR website. I called this facility yesterday in search of a rehabber and they told me to bring the injured animal in. Once there I was told that by a vet tech (?) that they are NOT licensed rehabbers. They offered to take the animal and call some rehabbers, which I could have done myself. I took the animal home and called another vet on the list (Macomb Township) who actually IS a licensed rehabber. I couldnt get to their office before closing time so I brought the injured animal to them today. The bird / dove had a broken leg and I was told they hope to still be able to set it. I wish the rep at this Humane Society had simply told me they were NOT licensed rehabbers yesterday and I would have called the Macomb Twp vet. It was farther from me but I could have made it in time.

We bought a dog from there. When we wanted to have a visit with the dog they made us wait 20 minutes in all honesty after the 2nd day that we had the dog I honestly think whatever drug to relax him wore off and he is the worst dog ever. Told us he was house broken... he was not as I am still having trouble with him. Told us he was calm, he is not his alwqys hyped up and chewing on things. They drug their animals to make you think they arw calm duringna visit if they have you wait for a simple visir, its cause they are waiting for the valum or whatever kind of sedative they have the animal to kick in. I WILL NEVER give my money to this place again.... Ill buy from a actual pet store a place that doesnt drug their animals or lie to the people who are purchasing animals.

Best experience with these guys! The faculty was clean and the animals were well cared for. But I was mostly impressed with the staff! They were all so helpful and friendly, even during the super busy and stressful saturday hours. We found the perfect new member to our family! He had been neutered, teeth cared for, vaccinated and evaluated for any health issues. I have already recommended this location to several people who are looking for new pets.
