Absolutely Terrific!! I made an appointment with Dr Lyons because my eye was scratched and I was in quite a bit of pain. I could see ok in the dark, but anytime light would be involved it was brutal. The two main times it hurt like hades were when I got behind a car that had a glare in the daytime or at night, if someone coming the other way didnt turn off their brights it really affected me for a few seconds there. Essentially Id be driving with one eye open and the other watering in a lot of pain..................... I wanted to go back to Flint- where Im from originally- to go to a doctor Id had a good experience with before. However, I didnt think I could drive up there safely. So I was mainly looking for a doctor close by and hoped for the best in terms of service. In between the doctor in Flint who I liked and Dr Lyons, Id fell for the $99 glasses that turns out to be $400 deal. I wasnt pleased with that one at all.......................... As for the appointment, Im not even sure where to start. He went over several scenarios with me. Sorta like "if this, then that" type things. I cant tell you what all he checked because Im not familiar with the terms. Basically he did a great job checking all aspects of my eye. A few of the checks did hurt, I will say that. However, he had to check it out to figure out the problem. Things like when he shined that lil light in my eye hurt like a banshee. Still, I understood thats the only way to figure out what was wrong................................. He also went over some unrelated things like contacts, glasses, and such. I used to wear glasses for a week and then contacts for a week. I had to change to just glasses because my eyes changed to where I need to take them off to read. I cant really take off my contacts everytime I want to glance at a menu or something right quick. He figured out a way that I could wear contacts again. There were a few other things that I was impressed with too, but this post is getting rather long............................... End result- The first thing he had me try was an anti biotic eye drop. If that doesnt work then well try something else. Im writing this about 10 hours after my appointment. My eye isnt 100% better yet, but Id say its about 80% better. Hopefully in the next day or 2 its back to normal......................................... Thanks a ton Dr Lyons

Dr Lyons is knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to picking out frames, but not particularly patient or overly friendly. I had a hard time with contacts and his brusk manners didnt help. One other big thing that concerns me is the piles and piles of boxes and used coffee cups that he has collected in the back of the shop. When I went to use the restroom once, and I saw these piles of "hoarder" style opened boxes and unused supplies. They are everywhere, and it really made me wonder... Both my husband and I have gone to see Dr. Lyons several times over the last two years, and we both independently decided that we wanted to switch optometrists. This was just not a good fit for us.

Dr. Lyons shows the height of proffesionalism, as well as being meticulous about getting the patient enough details to make a good decision. Price wise, he accepts our insurance, and seems to do his best to keep other costs down. The staff is the nicest around! Go see him, if you can get in, as hes often booked. Hes just that good.

I took my 6 year old (very hyperactive) son in for an eye exam and the staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home! Dr. Lyons is an amazing doctor who was very patient with my son and any questions I had. I will be recommending thus place to everyone I know! Thank you for your hospitality Main Street family!
