I must say that I am very disgusted with my experience with Shelby Veterinarian Clinic, there compassion is lacking when your pet is sick! I took my 8 week old golden retriever to them and they gave her a rabies vaccination at this check up, when most doctors dont reccomend this until much later. Two hours later I am rushing my dog back to vet as my dog is swelling up twice the size she was before. They treated her and gave her what she needed at that time. The response to me was "oh this happens about 1 out of every 10,000 dogs I guess you are the lucky one." After doing some research I feel they made a mistake and didnt care. So we wanted to give them a second chance as maybe this was a one off bad day for the clinic, not so much! We took the same dog back to be fixed, she got sick on their table and starting throwing up and stopped the procedure. I applaude them for making this decision. Yet when I go back to pick up my sick dog again from them, they handed me the dog and again no compassion at all. My wife and I decided we were going to switch vets, they have not and continue to tell us they will not fax or hand us the information on our dog. This is very fishy to me that they know they have made a mistake along the way and dont want us to know about it. Stay away from this clinic is my advice!

One good thing is the staff here is very friendly which was part of the reason I decided to take my dog here when she suddenly started having a problem. The vet was not comfortable at all with my dog and did not even look at what was bothering my dog. She also made multiple remarks on how I needed to train my dog and socialize her without asking me what I do with my dog or have done with my dog. Ive never been so disappointed or offended from a business. After spending more than I have ever spent at a vet, 2 weeks later my dogs problem as 10 times worse. I took her to my normal vet and spent 1/3 of the money for my dogs problem to be clearing up within 2 days. I will not be coming back to Shelby Vet to say the least. I dont recommend this place especially if your dog is in the bully breed.

Ive taken both my cat and my dog here. With both pets Ive had exceptional care. I love the puppy plan that they offer which almost works like an insurance plan, allowing you to make monthly payments for all the treatment your puppy will need in the first year including their spay/neuter. Any time Ive called needing to get my pet in due to an emergency they have been accommodating and gotten me in the same day. Lastly, the girls here are awesome! Super friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Brought my dog and newly adopted kitten to them for the first time since we recently moved and needed to find a new vet. Very caring staff and knowledgeable. They dont rush and are very informative, willing to answer any questions you have and give helpful advice. A little pricey in my opinion, but compared to others in the area they seem to be at the lower end of the price scale. Well worth the money though, as they took great care of my babies, very satisfied!

The vets are incredibly thorough, very caring about the animals. They are too expensive. I have called around to compare prices on different services and they are way more expensive. To clean my dogs teeth they quoted $644, an old vet of ours in Marysville only wanted $300 and one in Yale $85. Such a huge difference in prices has to make you wonder if theyre in it for the animals or the profit. Very sad.

Great vets!! A week ago Saturday Dr Lyon took her time and explained our cats situation very well. Her recommendation is working great!!! She even followed up a few days later. Very happy our dog was able to come too. She needed to be weighted and Sat patiently. They are open late and on Saturdays. Even emergency walk in availability. Love love love all the vets here!!

Have been going to the Shelby Veterinary Hospital for the past 18 years and have had nothing but the best experiences. They are always available to answer questions and calm your fears, seeing your pet the same day if necessary. They are kind, accommodating and gentle and I recommend them highly. My pets are thriving because of the care they receive.

I used to go there, but the prices have increased sooooooo much, I guess because they are on 26 mile rd. by all the expensive homes they feel they can charge ridiculous prices, way more then any where else, to bad. Teeth cleaning for a x-small dog $450 -$900 not including tooth removal and exam or pre-blood work!!! $$pocket diggers! I have moved on!

From the moment I called to make an appointment the staff was friendly and caring! Answered all of my questions and was able to get an app right away. I have a huge 100lb dog that other vets were scared of but this office was GREAT with him! They were also great with my small dog. Pricing for an app is very reasonable and will be back next time!

Had a limping dog,paid for tests and x-rays told just a sprane . two months later take her back still limping, paid again for same tests, this time she says its cancer, nothing we can do. "If we caught it earlier we could have amputated her leg" . They toldme two months earlier " dont worry its not cancer or anything ". Over priced as well .and

Ive been taking all of my dogs to Shelby Vet since the mid 90s. We have always had great experiences and our dogs are treated like family. There is never any issue on getting them in for normal vetting or "emergencies". The staff is great and very friendly as well!!
