Yesterday I took my dog to see Dr. Epping for an ear infection. This was the worst visit I have ever had. First of all when someone finally came to the front desk I was greeted with a sour faced blonde who told me to have a seat and they would be right with me. Not even a hello! Second when the Dr. came in I was made to feel like I was the worst owner ever. He never listened to what I had to say and made me feel like everything I did to help my dog was wrong when in fact I did everything (except make my dogs ear bleed) that the technician did. Thirdly the Dr. after talking down to me, hardly ever looked at me and talked to my boyfriend who isnt even the dogs owner. My boyfriend felt uncomfortable about the whole situation. Worst of all, when I was told that I needed to bring my dog back in two weeks to check and see if the infection had gone, Dr Epping said that he " didnt want me to feel like it was a SCAM to get me back in there". Who would say that to their customer? Then when I went to pay my bill I was outraged at the amount I was being charged. $170 just to treat an ear infection. I dont even get charged that much to get my horses teeth done. I dont plan on going back especially to be charged that much again just to be told the infection is gone. The worst experience I have ever had!!!

Ive been going to this clinic since they opened the current location. I was unhappy with the way I was being treated at my former clinic and decided to make a change. Dr. Jay Epping gave us a tour of the new (at that time) facilities and he has been taking care of my dogs ever since. Ive had a dog with Kidney issues, special needs rescues, and have brought friends dogs in for care. I trust Jays care of my animals and have never ever been treated in a condescending manner. The only thing I will mention to a potential patient family....if you know your pet will react a certain way during a procedure, be sure to tell them that. I told them my dog would scream if they tried to give her shots with me not being in the room. They took her into a different room anyway and I heard her screaming. I informed them at that time that not listening to me would never be repeated and that I was going to mention it to Dr. Epping. Since that visit, there have been no addition issues and she is in twice a year for shots...her regular ones in the fall and her Lyme Disease shot in the spring.

This was our second bad experience there in a years time. The staff were unwilling to do things in order to help save my dogs life. Once they decided to euthanize your pet, they drill you until you do it. I feel like the vets were inwilling to even try and save my dog. They let him blow up like a balloon. They we very uncaring and even rude. Two dr. Gave us promising news, only to find out two hours later, they would not even try anything to help him. Had a bad experience with our cat a year ago. Once they decided your pet needs to be euthanized, they dont even try to save them. Very uncaring, unprofessional staff. A horrible experience for loosing a part of your family for 15 years. They put him in a oxygenated box and left him there to die, only to charge us 2000$ for less than 24 hrs of very little care.Your staff all need sensitivity training! Seriously! This is the second time if felt like I was forced to put a pet down , because they would not try to help my dog or cat. I will not return to this place.

Weve been taking our pets to Dr. Epping since 2001. When I was young, my parents always took our pets to Dr. Jays dad, Dr. Norb Epping - he was wonderful and personable. Now as an adult, our family has had lots of pets through the years and I would never trust anyone else with their veterinary care. Dr. Jay has treated us as friends - not just a cash cow (we should own a wing of that hospital with all the pets weve taken to see him). :) When any symptoms one of our pets are having dont point specifically to one illness, he takes the time to ask questions, at length, offers probable causes and testing, but isnt demanding about it. He makes sure theyre getting the best possible care but also wants to be sure we are comfortable with his recommendations before he proceeds. Hes not a money scammer that some of the people have said in their reviews. Their prices are higher than most veterinarians, but I feel its worth it. Dr. Jay is stuck with us until he retires!

Went there twice...... WORST EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE!! First time they nearly killed my dog so we left for the U of M (thank god). Second time they were rude and unprofessional; ignoring and talking down to us. Then when they did say anything they pushed my family to amputate my cats leg. I believe they pushed us four-six times to cut off his leg and when we decided to leave for another vet they were completely unhelpful!! I felt like they didnt care about my family or my animals well-being. Thank god for the U of M and Cambridge Vet Care, they both saved my animals. My dog does suffer from brain issues from what the U of M said was the result of this vets doing and my cat is happy and healthy with all his legs attached. I WILL NEVER NEVER EVER GO TO THIS VET AGAIN!

Dr. Jay and his staff are wonderful!!!! They truly care about my "kids". I have one fairly high maintenance pup, Angel, and have no doubt in my mind that the care they give her is 2nd to none. They explain every procedure in detail and I never feel pressured into any un-needed procedures. I feel they treat my pups like they would their own. Angel had a dental procedure today. I didnt worry about her because I knew she under the best care. When I picked her up she was being spoiled rotten and I was surprised at how reasonable the cost was. Worth every penny! To say Dr. Jay and his team are great is an understatement. They are beyond phenomenal!! I love them and am very grateful that they take care of my kids.

I have brought all my pets to Blaine Area Pet Hospital for over 10 years and I would never go anywhere else! We primarily see Dr. Jay Epping but we have also seen Dr. Norb Epping and Dr. Battjes- they are each amazing in their own ways and I have never been dissatisfied with their services. The entire staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and has helped our family care for several special needs animals. From the cleanliness of the facility to the unmatched passion of the staff, I am confident that you cannot find better veterinary care anywhere!!!

Great location, close to a major highway, easy to find. Outstanding people, from the reception staff to the veterinary technicians. The doctors have never tried to sell me something my pet didnt need nor suggest unnecessary tests or procedures. From my perspective everyone there really does enjoy working with animals and prides themselves with providing wonderful care. Its a great plus that the family dog actually is excited about all the people she meets while visiting.
