First trip to this vet with our new puppy and we will not be back. They were friendly enough but seemed very phony in their overly friendliness. The actual veterinarian spent only about 2.5 minutes with us and didnt seem to do much of an exam. I was also very turned off when they gave the sales pitch for their very expensive "wellness plans". If we werent leaving for vacation and needed the shots right away, I would have walked out then and there. The prices were also very expensive - I received an estimate for a neuter for $400-$500 which is about $150 higher than Blue Cross Animal Hospital. We will be going back to Blue Cross from now on, where the veterinarian actually spends time in the exam room, providing most of the care and takes time to discuss things with you. And the best part is that Blue Cross doesnt need to sell you a "wellness plan" to get you to come back.

In the past, I had mixed experiences. There was a male tech that was rather rude on one visit and then really nice on the next. Sometimes the vets would give completely different advice about dealing with an issue with our pet, and would give the advice as if we hadnt ever tried to address the issue before (leading me to think that they didnt actually look at the notes before advising us). But lately, there is a vet that has been really stellar to us and our pet. Hes our favorite there. He has tried to help us find ways to reduce costs of medication for our pet and, I feel, has really gone out of his way to research the condition. For that reason, I give the clinic four stars. A couple more visits like that and its five stars for sure!

We recently had to put our dog to sleep and Dr. Schuld was amazing as was his staff. Toni, the vet tech is wonderful with all of our pets and we have had good experiences here all but on one occasion where Dr. Stephani came off quite rude. These people work hard everyday to make our pets safe and healthy. I understand that their prices are a bit higher as they are a free standing clinic and not a Banfield or Bluecross. If you want the Walmart of Vets, go to Banfield where they dont seem to much care. If you want true care for your fur-babies and flowers and a lovely card on one of your hardest days, take them here.

One of the best Animal Hospitals around, we recently moved from Washington DC to Minneapolis in October - we have a 4 year old beagle/lab mix and a 14 year old chow/Shepard mix. Dr. Meloy is by far one of the best veterinarians we have ever seen. Extremely transparent and willing to work with you to make a care plan best for you and your pet. The front desk will always out a smile on your face and the technicians are best in class when it comes to nail trims! Could not recommend them enough.

In coming here, I honestly believe my dog recieves better health care than most humans. Dr. Tom Schuld is one of the kindest beings my family and I have ever met with. He is perfectly balanced in being both knowledgeable and loving toward his clients and their families. Top notch treatment plans yet not pushy. The staff is equally amazing. Very professional, excellent customer service. I cant say enough good things about this hospital. Bring your beloved fur babies here!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff who have always been nothing but kind and understanding about whatever issue should be the cause of our visit. Im told that my cat, while vocal about his dislike for the location, is actually quite charmed by the techs, so thats gotta be another plus as hes an excellent judge of character. Havent taken my pets anywhere else for a while, and since Ive always received excellent service here, I just dont see any reason to move along.

I have taken my dog to MAH for years. I have found the vets to be knowledgeable and friendly for the most part. I do feel that there are a couple of vets that are really great like Dr. Stafani. However, the office manager and the front staff are quite rude. Having spent several thousand dollars there after the past few years one would think that the staff could at least be friendly. They are quite rude and we wont be returning! Enough is enough.

Im afraid the quality of care has declined here. We were rushed through multiple appointments to resolve my pets ailment, each time I was given another expensive spray or mousse that didnt do anything for the problem. Ive literally spent over $5,000 here in the past 1.5 years with no actual resolution to any of the issues our pets were brought in for. Weve moved on to try other vets =(

Weve been loyal customers for many years and initially loved the place. However, weve had so many bad experiences over the past year that we have decided to find a new vet. Minnehaha is very overpriced for the level of care provided.

Dr. Tom at Minnehaha Vet is the best. He truly cares for all his patients and we should know -- our dogs are skiddish at the vet usually but not with Dr. Tom.
