Well Im going to preface this by saying i dont think people in the city know a good vet. I made an appointment last week to have my 8 year old chi-mins nails clipped. So far so good. They called yesterday (day before appointment) to confirm. I had my dogs vet records faxed from his regular (and now ONLY vet) to prove im not a delinquent dog parent. We get to his appointment about 3 minutes before the specified time. My dog does NOT like vets at all, but his stress level is manageable, unless there is a newly adopted 1 year old dog that comes and starts to whine like it is legitimately dying. I understand rescue dogs and everything because my dog was rescued at the age of 4.5 by me, so I am understanding, but the staff at Lyndale should have not only been more proactive and compassionate about that poor dogs crazy life but my old little guy who was shaking before the whining started. After my dog almost claws me to death, we ask if it is alright to wait outside, away from the whining, they said yes. 12 minutes after our scheduled appointment time we finally get called back. I am shocked when they start talking as if it is a full on exam, WHICH THEY HAD US DOWN FOR. I called for a nail trim. I had his records faxed to prove he gets his wellness exams at his amazing vet Oakwood Pet Clinic. They then bring him into the back to trim his nails, I warn them he seriously despises nail trims and to be prepared. About 5 minutes later they bring him back out to me, bleeding quite a bit because they clipped his qwick and didnt notice? Who does not notice? Isnt that why I paid a "professional" to do the trim so they would notice and hopefully not clip too short? Then the real icing on the cake. The vet tech who clipped his nails asked me if he has any heart conditions because he was starting to turn blue FROM STRESS. Nope, he doesnt, youd know that if you bothered to even glance at his records AND I already had explained before handing him off to the vet tech that the whining was driving him mad and we almost left because the stress was getting to be too much. Never again will my dog go anywhere except to the kind, compassionate, extremely knowledgeable staff of docs and vet techs at Oakwood Pet Clinic. I will never recommend anyone I know to go here. He will never be back. Also, $27 for a nail trim? Thats a bit steep since i have to wash the blood off him anyway.

It smells like cat pee and my cat hates this place. He gets into the exam room and starts stress shedding. First visit was for an inner ear bite, and the Dr. says, "Ew, that stinks," disdainfully. The receptionist also made a comment about whose pillow the infected scab mass would end up on. A year later my cat had a painful injury. I showed up 5 min late because I turned the wrong direction on Lyndale. Inside, there was a customer at the counter asking every question in the book about special diets and what food they carry. When she finally got to me I was told there was no time to do a proper exam, but if I wanted to wait, I could hang out and maybe get squeezed in. Because my cat was hurt I stayed, in an often empty waiting room, watching person after person get admitted. After an hour, 30 min to close I stormed out of there. My cat was losing it in his carrier, dogs on leashes coming up to see him in his cage. I could not believe the level of indifference and disrespect to the situation. On my way home I remembered where I used to take my dog. It was end of day and it was a long shot but I went anyway. When I got there they practically hugged me, said as long as I came in before close they would see me no matter what and they saw me very soon, first exam was free. I walked in distressed and they were the best. Walked out with a fix in place. I will never go back to Lyndale Animal Hospital.

While their staff was nice, Im not sure how capable they are. We woke up one morning to find our cat hiding and in obvious distress. They fit us in right away, but after a bunch of tests, we were not given any answers to the cause of his illness. He had gone blind overnight and was in pain. After finding nothing, we were about to leave and they decided to check his blood pressure. It turned out it was very high and we were given a perscription and sent home. While we sat at home with our extremely sick cat, I did internet research. It didnt take very long to figure out all of his symptoms indicated that he had hyperthyroidism. I contacted another veterinary hospital and brought him in. There he was diagnosed with just that. The blood pressure meds we had been given were not strong enough to bring down his blood pressure. We were asked to leave him there while they found a strong enough medication to be effective since his condition was so serious. Unfortunately, he didnt make it. I always will wonder if the outcome wouldve been different had Lyndale Animal Hospital had made the correct diagnosis.

I have been going to Lyndale animal hospital for about 14 years. I love Dr. Grindle. He has taken the kindest care of all my rescue pets. He is a kind gentle vet and generally cares about your animals. This clinic will do all they can for you to get you in if they can if you have a emergency. They are great and provide top notch care. The prices are reasonable as well and they do not make you feel bad if you are on a limited income like I am. They will take into account your budget and suggest the treatment options that are best with the dollar amount you have to work with. The vet techs are some of the kindest most gentle people I have ever met as well. I will go to this clinic forever. I rescue animals that no one else wants, senior dogs, cats with FIV or that are found outside emaciated and starving. They help me nurse them back to health and are so good to my animals. They really do love animals here. I trust them 150%

Ive been taking my cats here for 8 years and have had great experiences...until today. When I called last week to make an appointment to get both cats teeth cleaned, I asked how much it would cost per cat and was quoted "$200". When I came in today to drop off my cats, I not only felt nickel-and-dimed (they handed me a sheet with additional/optional services that cost extra per service, none of which had been mentioned to me when I asked for a price by phone), but they then told me that the initial fee is more like $400-450 per cat -- a far cry from $200! I thought this was terrible customer service, and the vet actually thought it was funny and laughed about it in the examining room when I told her I was pretty upset about it. I was appalled. I think the service has gone downhill since I started going there. What a shame.
