I moved to eagan and sought a dentist in the area. My son had fell and broke his permanent front tooth. I called the clinic, explained the situation and they got him in in less than a week. At our appointment, they took some x-rays and then Dr. Judy Pedro-Lim came in to see him. Immediately she was able to tell me that his tooth was infected and that he needed a root canal right away. She went on to tell me that they dont do root canals there so contact my insurance to get him referred to a clinic that could, and once that was complete bring him back to get a crown. She then explained to me that porcelain would be the best for the crown, but that MY insurance wont cover it. She made it very clear to tell me over and over again what MY type of insurance would and wouldnt cover. I was able to get my son into another clinic for his root canal (Metro Endodontics - they absolutely rock!!!). Once that mission was complete I called Eagan Dental to schedule the crown for my son. I specifically told the lady on the phone that it was for a return visit to get his front tooth crowned. She asked if I know what type of crown Dr Pedro-Lim wanted to do as some needed a 30mintue appointment and some require a 45 minute time frame. I told her I was unsure so she slotted us for a 45 minute slot, about a week out. I brought my son to this apoointment. Once he was back in the chair, they called me back so that Dr Pedro-Lim could talk to me. She starts telling me that SHE doesnt do crowns, that she could refer me out to someone who might do them for childrens permanent teeth, but that with MY insurance, not everyone will do. Now she made a point now to tell me that I have "low-life" insurance both visits. See, I pay my premium to MNCare, so they can provide me a more affordable insurance than my employer can. But Pedro-Lim made it clear, as if I should be fortunate enough that SHE accepts MY insurance. I flat out asked her why SHE told me to come back for a crown if SHE doesnt even do them. She replied "so she could check the tooth"!!! What a waste of time, the Endodontics just did that and required no follow up for a year!! Now my son was pulled out of school twice to go this dentist, who has yet to do anything for him. She said she would fill his cavity so it wasnt a complete waste of time. I ended up leaving, but I let her know I would be bringing him to someone competant who could get the job done without wasting my or my sons time. She was needless to say, very unpleasant when I confronted her about what she told me she would / could do. I would have never let her work on my sons teeth that way she aggressivly throwing stuff around her room. Very unfortunate I couldnt give her a "Very Poor" score. She may be good to those who have private insurance, but I would definitly steer clear if you have any portion funded by government.

I brought my 5 year old to this clinic today and it was awful!!! Im kicking myself for not checking these reviews first. We walked in to a waiting room with nothing for kids to do, being a pediatric clinic you would think they would have toys or coloring books. When we were called back we had to sit there for 10 minutes listening to the girl getting worked on next to us scream and cry.. no one came over until they were done with her so there was no need to call us back to completely terrify my son. When the "dentist" came over she asked how we were and i said well hes a little nervous now from hearing that poor girl, the dentist response was "she was a baby"... mind you the girl was probably 10ish. I didnt appreciate her rudeness. They didnt try to explain anything to my son they just both held his head down automatically freaking him out more. I couldnt think of anything but to calm my son down. They didnt explain to me anything they did to him or how his teeth looked. They didnt talk to him about how to take care of his teeth, nothing. Im pissed to say the least and i do not understand how they are in business!! Now i understand how i was able to make an appointment there so quickly. Do not torture your children by bringing them here.

THIS POST WAS DELETED AFTER MY HUSBAND WROTE IT ON HIS ACCOUNT SO I A RE-POSTING I took my six year old daughter who absolutely needs a mandatory pre-med (antibiotic) before she gets her teeth cleaned, due to the chance of infection after her hart surgery. Before her appt we forgot to giver her this and the dentist tried to tell us it would still OK to have her teeth cleaned. We ABSOLUTELY did not let this dentist touch our daughters teeth. This goes without saying, terrible judgment. However, for whatever reason, we did let her clean and examine my two year old daughters teeth. She told us that our daughter would have to be strapped down, using a "papoose" board, because she was uncooperative, when actually she was just terrified of the poorly mannered and unfit for children style the dentist Judy portrayed. They had no patient for children, no atmosphere for children, no toys for for children, and overall nothing a pediatric dentist needs to be so named. Afterwards, I had to go to their office twice to request my daughters records and I was treated with disrespect, and told I couldnt have them because they were unreadable to anyone but the dentist herself.

I havent had any of the issues the rest of the reviewers are having. I think some have an "elitist attitude" thinking the world should turn upside down to accommodate their little darlings. I find Judy Lim quick and to the point. My son has sensory issues where touch is concerned, but he lives in the real world and teeth have to be touched to some extent. During his uncontollable break down, Dr. Lim was able to quickly and efficiently remove a loose tooth before my son could swallow it. When it was over, he immediately calmed down and that was that. Other times when my son refused to cooperate for the x-rays, Dr. Lim was OK with skipping that part and checked his teeth visually. Im giving a 4/5 star because I do think the lobby could be more kid friendly, but, unlike other parents, we come prepared with our own activities to pass the time.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE. Dr. Lim is the worst. She does not care about children or abating their fears of the dentist. She is very rough, shoving her hands in their mouth and gets frustrated because she cant explain to the children what they have to do. She just barks orders at children, and becomes impatient very quickly. After seeing my daughter for 5 minutes it was deemed she would have to be put under FOR XRAYS. XRAYS. And when I explained to my new dentist that situation he could not understand, as my daughter was even tempered and listened well, even after this monster scared her from dentists. She treats kids as a chore, and I dont understand why a person who seemingly hates children would choose to specialize in them. Probably for the $$$. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE.
